Dark Deceit by Lauren Dawes blog tour. Spotlight & Playlist.

The time of the Aesir gods is over. Now they live among the humans in their bustling modern cities. Their brutal dominion over the gods and humans may have ended, but their actions have not been forgotten.

Korvain is feared like no other. His ruthlessness and cold heart are legendary, but when he is given the task of killing one of the most fabled goddesses of all time, he is left with an undeniable desire to make her his own. Failure in his task means only one thing: death. Will he follow his orders, or will he follow his heart?

Bryn’s whole world crumbled when she left Odin’s service to protect the other Valkyries. Now living with the humans, she is the only thing standing between them and total destruction. But her beliefs are about to be shaken to the core when she meets Korvain—a completely irresistible Mare who threatens to take away more than just her innocence.

Dark Deceit Excerpt:
He lowered his head, his lips like the softest suede against her mouth. His tongue licked at her, insistent, persuasive. She opened for him, surrendered to him.
Slowly, he released her wrist, stretching her arm above her head. He did the same with her other arm, holding her there with his hot, strong fingers. With his free hand, his fingers skimmed over the tee and boxer shorts she’d worn to bed, touching her, heating her skin. Fingertips inched up the fabric, caressing her softly.
Her hips rolled forward when he reached the edge of her shorts. He smiled, flashing a monstrous set of fangs at her as he did, and dipped a finger below the elastic waist. Bryn’s whole body was alive, buzzing with so much energy she expected to see little sparks flying off her skin. Korvain purred his approval and, without releasing her wrists, climbed on top of her.
She opened up her legs to him, welcoming his weight, relishing in the touch of his body.
Cradling him with her hips, she melted under him, taking him into her body like he was designed for her and her alone. Korvain released her arms, his free hand burrowing under her
shirt like he needed to feel her skin.
She grabbed his thick biceps, squeezing that muscled heat. His massive shoulders moved with his deep, hungry breaths as he stared down at her. With his elbows pressed into the mattress, supporting his massive weight, he purred down into her ear. The vibration went all the way through her.
She reached out to touch his face, running her fingers along his jaw, along his bottom lip.
Her eyes slid shut when his mouth crashed into hers.

NERD BLAST! IXEOS by Jennings Wright

JenningsBlast

The McClellands are enjoying a lazy summer vacation at the beach when they are lured from

our world into Ixeos, an alternate Earth. Finding themselves lost in a maze of tunnels under

Paris and surrounded by strangers, they discover that they have been brought to Ixeos for one

purpose: to take the planet back from humanoid aliens who have claimed it. With the aid of the

tunnels and a mysterious man named Landon, the teens travel the world seeking the key that

will allow them to free Darian, the long-imprisoned rebel leader. But the aliens aren’t the only

problem on Ixeos — the McClellands have to deal with brutal gangs, desperate junkies, and a

world without power, where all the technology is owned by the aliens, and where most of the

population has been killed or enslaved. The worst part? There’s no way home.

With rebel leader Darian free at last, the humans and outsiders on Ixeos must find a way to join

forces and defeat the Firsts. The problem? All slaves are tracked with GPS, the Firsts are the

only ones with power, and roving gangs hate the rebels just as much as they hate the aliens.

As Darian and the outsiders from Earth travel the globe through the mysterious tunnels in Paris,

they learn that the Firsts are preparing to launch another wave of biological warfare. With a

transporter that will allow the aliens to target any city, anywhere on the planet, the rebels know

As things get more dangerous on Ixeos, the outsiders find that they’re pushed to their limit. Will

they must stop them at all costs.

They fight for freedom, no matter the price?

Precipice: The Beginning blog tour. Review, playlist & giveaway.

The End is only the Beginning....
It wasn't the first time Lieutenant Travis Daniels had been far from his wife and son. Leading an elite team on countless missions, dodging death at every turn-it was what he was trained to do. And returning to his family was always his driving force... but this time might be different. Imprisoned for an unsanctioned intrusion into a hot zone, Travis and his elite team took a deal to assist in the colonization of Mars to evade the death penalty. While stationed there, Travis' only source of sanity were the brief video conversations he was allowed with his family. When the last transmission received showed choppy images of the city in darkness and blurs of humanoid creatures running through the streets, Travis and his team must decide to either stay on Mars or find a way back to his family-unknowing of the hell that Earth has become.

What a rush! This book captivated me from the first page and kept me enthralled until “To Be Continued!” with its action, suspense and otherworldly scenery.

Travis Daniels and his team are stuck on Mars. After a mission gone bad, they are basically forced to either assist with the colonizing of said planet, or face the death penalty. His wife Annie is back on earth raising their son Logan, when all hell breaks loose, literally! The last transmission Travis and his team receive from earth shows the planet is being annihilated by monsters that have crawled through cracks in the planet’s surface. The situation on Mar’s deteriorates quickly as Travis and his team try to find a way back home.

I tore through this book, going back and forth between Travis on Mars trying to get home to protect his family. All the while dealing with a mad man intent on keeping them right where they are. And Annie on earth who is fiercely protective of her son, and will do anything to keep them alive. Amazing character development throughout the story not only for the main characters, but secondary characters as well. And what the hell are these monsters? It’s very the bad side of Journey to the Center of the Earth with these things. There are smaller scouts and larger killers, for lack of a better word, and they seem to have a pack mentality and an uncanny ability to communicate.

I anxiously await the second book in this series! If you are a fan of horror, monsters, strong ass leading ladies and some intense action this is a must read for you.

Amanda Heath Wrong Kind of Love, Release day blitz!

The first time I ever saw Caden Harper I’m pretty sure I fell in love. All that golden hair and pale blue eyes. He was mysterious and covered in paint. I found it endearing and wanted nothing more than to find out all his secrets. I gave that man things I would never give anyone else. He blew it though. Which I shouldn’t be surprised considering he is a womanizer.
So I moved on, well kind of. Jaden Harper wasn’t what I expected. I found myself drawn to him all most as much as his brother. Maybe it’s the fact they are twins or maybe it was the fact I wanted to live on the wrong side for once in my life.
Now I’ve found myself dug deep in this game. There's no end in sight and I wonder when all the lies I have told will come back to haunt me. Neither man should know the things I’ve gone through. Neither should trust me. I’m not who I say I am. My past is full of things I won’t
ever share.
But where will that lead me when Caden wants nothing more than to consume me? He won’t wake up to see he has the wrong kind of love.
My Name is Grace Bread Field and this is my story.

Cassandra doesn't remember a time when she wasn't writing. In fact, the first time she was published was when she was seven years old and won a contest to be published in an American Girl Doll novel. Since than Cassandra has written more novels than she can count and put just as many in the circular bin. Her personal goal with her writing is to show the reader the character's stories through their dialogue and actions instead of just telling the reader what is happening. In 2012 she became a published Young Adult author, releasing In Between Seasons (The Fall, #1) and Walking in the Shadows. In 2013 she branched out by using her artistic illustrating talents to publish her first Children's novel, The Adventures of Skippy Von Flippy: Tales of Friendship (Skippy Tales, #1). Cassandra will also release her first New Adult novel, Just One Cup, in the Spring of 2013.

Cassandra is a freelance professional photographer known for her automotive, nature and architectural shots. Giovanni on Goodreads ~ www ~ wordpress ~ Facebook ~

*Hi Cassandra, thanks for taking the time to talk with us today. Let's start with where you're from.
I’m honored to be on your blog--thank you! I was born in Massachusetts, but I’ve lived in Connecticut for most of my teenager to adult life. I moved here when I was in 5th grade. Oh, and I hate snow, which makes it hard to live in New England!
*Tell us about your writing process. Music, movies or books used for research.
My writing process is rather unlike the rest of my life. It’s mostly unstructured: I write when I want, what I want, whenever I want, at whatever point in the book I want. I don’t use an outline, I don’t usually do research and I write all over the place. I may start with a scene right in the middle of the novel and then move all around from there. In general I have some very vague idea of where I am going, but I don’t concentrate on that until the finals stage, which I call the “tie in stage”. That’s where I link all my chapters together and create a better flow. I call my style “sporadic”, because it’s so all over the place. I usually get my best ideas when I’m listening to music and driving, or from a dream I had. I almost always have music on when I write. During the idea and writing stages it’s usually music with lyrics, but once I hit the editing stage I find classical music is the best.
*What are the pro's and con's to being a published author?
There are a lot of pro’s:
  • I get to hold my book in my hands
  • I get to say I’m published
  • I have fans
  • I get to meet amazing bloggers and readers from all over the world
  • Seeing my book is being read in places like Austria
  • Talking about my books to everyone I can
  • Being able to accomplish a dream I’ve had ever since I can remember
  • I don’t feel like I’m going nuts because I am holding a story inside
  • Reading reviews of people who love the book and want more
There are less con’s, but as with all things there are some:
  • Always running on empty--I work full-time, go to school full-time, run a photography and marketing company AND have to write and market my own books
  • Being stereotyped as a self-pub who probably doesn’t have an editor and couldn’t get published traditionally. Neither of those are true, but I’ve had people attack me before with the assumption that those items are true. I have an editor, and I chose to not pursue traditional publishing for my own reasons
  • Nasty, nasty reviews that attack me as a person--not just my novel
*What are you reading right now?
A Job From Hell by Jayde Scott
*Who is your favorite author?
Jane Austen
*Whom in your life would you say has influenced you the most?
My father--he’s such an amazing person. He’s always there to guide me, chastise me, be my friend, and above all he has integrity that I’ve never seen in another human being. My mother is also a strong influence--I’m much more my father, but my mother has the kindest heart I’ve ever met. She truly sees the best in people, even when they treat her like nothing.
*What's next for you?
I announced recently that when my Young Adult series, The Fall is complete I will no longer be writing the genre. I plan on focusing my attention on the New Adult Genre and expanding my Children’s illustrated literature line. The second book in my Children’s series, Skippy Tales, will be releasing by the end of the year. I also plan on releasing another New Adult book, but which one is yet to be determined. I just started writing a new novel this morning--so I’m not sure what novel will be published next!

Thank you again for your time! Happy Blogging!  Thank you Cassandra Giovanni for stopping by today and sharing your time with us. Until next time........

Strong Enough blog tour with author Ellen Harger. Spotlight & This OR That.

Starting over is hard.
And sometimes, you have to burn a few bridges to do it.

Whitney Brown is average--average intelligence, average height, average weight--but she wants to be someone new. To kick-start her rebirth, she wears formal mourning, a black veil and vintage dress, to a wedding in her hometown, Woods Cross, a community that treasures family values. Is it an attack on marriage or has she just gone bonkers?

Emboldened but lacking a plan, she forces her foot in the door of a radio station in Sundown. A small metropolis of nearly 150,000, Sundown is a notch of urban flair along the Midwest's Bible Belt.

Getting in proves to be the easy part and the anonymity of being a DJ suits her well. But off air (and in person), Whitney must stand up to Sadi, an angry feminist and the bane of her college years while an old friendship with her former roommate, Leah, devolves around a guy.

It's 2002 and the Midwest radio scene is changing. Just as Whitney hits her groove, the radio station undergoes its own identity crisis. But what rocks Whitney to her core is the moment the condom breaks. Her abstinence only background leaves her embarrassed and facing a difficult choice.

Ellen Harger was born at the Air Force Academy in Colorado. As a military brat, she moved often during her childhood--something she never resented and continued as an adult. The constant starting over influenced her first published novel, "Strong Enough."
At 14, her family settled in Missouri as civilians, permitting Ellen to attend one high school. She stayed in the Midwest to attend a small liberal arts college, studying creative writing and art. After 11 years, she moved to Boston. While there, she continued to study creative writing in Cambridge. Ever willing to explore new places, she moved next to the San Francisco Bay area. After 11 years away, and loving the symmetry, she returned to the Midwest to finish "Strong Enough." She has published a poem, "Guidelines," and released her novel as an e-book.

Since he drowned, Henry has remained isolated with the same group of teenagers and he keeps wondering why. After all, what could he possibly have in common with a Mohawk-sporting punker from the 80s, a roller skater from the 70s with a thing for kimonos, and an English “rocker” from the 60s? Henry can hear the other groups but he never sees them. Soon, Henry learns that his new friends all possess unique skills for making themselves noticed by the living. Is Henry’s group kept isolated because of their abilities? If so, are they considered gifted or seen only as a potential bad influence?

Before Henry can reach any conclusions, he witnesses his sister being kidnapped. He knows who did it, where she’s being held and what will happen if the kidnappers don’t get what they want. As the police chase false leads, Henry comes to realize that he’s his sister’s only hope. But for Henry to even have a chance, he has to convince a group of teenagers that dead doesn’t mean helpless.

David Pandolfe has been a bartender in Seattle, the front man for an alternative rock band in Los Angeles and a college writing teacher in Richmond (among other things).

One day, it occurred to him that sometimes these experiences felt like completely different lives altogether. Which got him to writing Jump When Ready, a novel about a bunch of teenagers trying to get over their past lives while getting ready to jump into their next.

While he’s still writing about himself in third person, David Pandolfe should probably mention that at one point he received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing at Virginia Commonwealth University (yet another life). He has had short stories published in Millennium and the Georgetown Review. Jump When Ready is his first young adult novel but he's currently working on another, to be released in the fall of 2013.

Time for the music! Pandolfe definitely likes a variety of artists from Cold Play to the Beatles to Zeppelin. Check out his playlist on youtube..

Nerd Blast! for MORE by Clare James

Book Nerd Tours

Inline image 1
One summer.
One chance to forget the past.
One opportunity to make things right.

There’s no denying the heat between Jules Taylor and Foster Sutton. They are two wild souls with a fire burning inside. Together, they create a hot and dangerous mix of emotion and lust.

But after a terrible accident leaves one friend dead, Foster is bound by a secret that keeps him from getting closer to Jules. And he’s left with only one thing to offer her – friendship.

For Jules, her relationship with Foster is getting old. He falls down and she picks him up, but they never move forward. Their occasional hook-ups are no longer enough, and Jules vows that this is her summer to forget Foster and find love. If it were only that easy.

It seems fate is pushing Jules and Foster together at every turn. And it’s only a matter of time before they give up and give in.

MORE is the highly anticipated companion story to BEFORE YOU GO. It can also be read as a stand-alone book.

Clare James spent her childhood writing, reading, and dancing. Not much has changed since then, except she can no longer get up on toe shoes like she once could. And don’t even ask her to go into the splits because she may never get back up.

A new adult and contemporary romance writer, Clare loves a happy ending. She lives in Minneapolis with her two leading men—her husband and young son. BEFORE YOU GO is her debut new adult novel.
