Betrayed by his peers and slandered as a traitor, Commander Thierry Donovan has nothing left. Locked away and targeted by the very men responsible for his incarceration, Thierry defies the odds and fights for the fundamental right to survive the hell-hole of his imprisonment. With no one to trust, Thierry finds solace in the last place he imagines…

The church is Ryan Flynn’s sanctuary. He craves the solitude and peace he finds in the hallowed halls. His oath to serve God is a calling Ryan has hidden behind all of his adult life; until his past catches up with him in the form of his foster brother, Special Agent Orrin Hunt…

Submerging himself within a world of danger, violence and corruption is the only way Orrin can cope with life. Rejected and tormented by the bitter remorse of unrequited love, Orrin is oblivious to the beauty of what life can offer him. If he’d only open his eyes, and maybe his heart….

Jaydan Callahan’s life is a wreck. Gangs, drugs and violence are a part of his normal day to day routine. For one so young, he’s seen it, been there, done it and gotten more than enough tee shirts as proof. Capable of smelling a cop from a mile away, it comes as no surprise to Jay when the guy he has the hots for is actually working undercover to bring down the town’s notoriously dangerous king pin.

Four men, four lives, each one of them stained by lies, corruption and doubt. Can love show them the path to redemption, or will broken oaths, fear and grief make the crosses they bear too heavy a mantle to carry.

Excerpt...

Why hadn’t he seen the response coming? He was a grown assed man, a decorated officer in the U.S. Navy; yet, he was mooning like a love-struck teenage boy—over a priest, no less. Frustration added to his irrational thinking and Thierry struck out, ramming his fist against the nearest wall. Shockwaves of pain crashed through his arm and made his already injured shoulder ache. Blood covered the wall and dripped from his fist, and still it wasn’t enough.

In that moment as he stood there, Thierry had never felt so lost and alone. He wasn’t scared to admit to himself he had feelings for someone, but why Ryan? Why did it have to be the only unavailable person he knew?

Defeated, he slumped onto his bunk and held his head in his hands. Maybe he was destined to be alone after all. Maybe being locked up and meeting Ryan was a sign, a sign that there wasn’t really anyone out there for the likes of him. As tough as he was, as well trained and disciplined as he’d turned out to be, that single thought stung.

The truth of the matter was he didn’t want to be alone. He wanted the warmth of another body in his bed, and the caress of another man’s hand in his. He wanted to love and to be loved in return. He wanted the familiar, the lust and silly names couples called each other, as well as, the fights and the make-up sex. He wanted it all.

Years had passed since Thierry last cried, but the sting in his eyes as he sat there alone in the belly of his prison just wouldn’t quit. Fat tears like warm rain clung to his lashes. The overwhelming sense of growing old alone filled him with sorrow. He’d trained all of his adult life to be someone, do something positive with his life. But as with his younger years where scorn and ridicule ruled, there was always someone there ready to put him down or take away everything Thierry stood for in life.

If his evidence against Ducaine resulted in him being freed, he’d disappear. Surely the Navy could find somewhere remote enough he didn’t have to be a witness to the luckier ones in life that found and got to be with the one they loved. And, he’d be well away from Ryan who most likely wouldn’t appreciate knowing how Thierry felt about him.

How had he fallen for the man in only a matter of weeks? It was ridiculous at best. It wasn’t as if Ryan had shown any interest. He’d been kind, given Thierry the support and strength he needed to trust in someone. He wasn’t about to abuse that kindness after Ryan had gone to such great lengths to help him.
