* Where are you from, and where do you call home?

I was born in the San Fernando Valley outside of Los Angeles. Yeah. I know. A Valley Girl. Thanks for that, Moon Unit.

Thankfully, I escaped, and I’m living in a much more peaceful environment. Instead of gunshots and sirens waking me up in the middle of the night, I’m more likely to hear barking sea lions or freighters sounding their fog horns - I’m happily ensconced on the Northern coast of Oregon. We’re actually having a rather impressive wind and rainstorm right now. Pretty typical for this time of year.

* How long have you been writing?

I started seriously pursuing a writing career when I was twelve. No joke. But my first rejection letter from a major NY publishing house when I was fourteen, (I know, right? What was I thinking!) dashed my hopes, and I decided to become a rock star instead. Oddly, that didn’t happen either, so I’m back to being a writer. Kids these days…

* What inspires you when writing?

Naked, sweaty men. I don’t really think any other answer can top that, so I’m gonna stick with it.

* How do you keep up with insane deadlines?

I’m insane? That has to at least be a part of it. A lot of sleep deprivation, which sucks, because I LOVE sleeping almost as much as I love naked, sweaty men. I also don’t have a life other than hanging out with my girls at writing conventions, so there’s that.

* What are you working on now?

Getting a clue. Oh wait. That’s not what you meant. At this exact moment (sort of), I’m finishing up the sixth installment in the Sin City Uniforms series. This is Rich’s story – he’s the head of the LGBTQ programming at the teen shelter. He’s also been looking for love in all the wrong places, but maybe the hunky Diego from LVMPD Search and Rescue can help him out with that.

* Tell us about the next book in the Kiss of Leather series that is releasing at the end of the year.

Okay, Tams. I’m glad you asked! I’m writing the Kiss of Leather series a little different than I have with most of my other series. With Uniform Encounters, Sin City and Hampton Road, while you’ll run across the various characters in other books – all of them can still be read as standalones – there’s only one couple’s complete story per book.

I broke from that formula for Kiss of Leather. While there aren’t cliffhangers per se, and each book will introduce a couple who at the very least gets an HFN – there’s a unifying story that involves all the men throughout the series, and the couples won’t necessarily only be featured in their own separate book. Confused yet? Good. That’s what I was going for.

For example, in Safe Limits, the next installment – the book picks up with Gavin and Kyle the morning after the first book ended. They *ahem* carry on from that scene, but then the next part of the story melds from there into the next, re-introducing Master Derek and newly introducing the boy he’ll call his own. Kyle doesn’t disappear though - he still has a big part to play in Safe Limits.

Essentially, this won’t be a series you can read as standalones. To understand all the action going on, it’ll really be necessary to read them in order. I’ve only ever done that with the first four books of Gin & Jazz, and that was just one character’s story – despite all the others who came along for the ride. So this is kinda scary!

Great Interview Mortie! If you want to meet Morticia Knight, get a book signed or just grab a hug, she will be attending the Houston area Author's event in Houston Texas in February 2016 - Rainbow Book Fair in NYC in April 2016 - Delicously Dirty in Dallas in, where else, Dallas Texas August 2016 - GRNW in Seattle in September 2016 and GRL in Kansas City in October 2016.

Morticia Knight spends most of her nights writing about men loving men forever after. If there happens to be some friendly bondage or floggings involved, she doesn’t begrudge her characters whatever their filthy little heart’s desire. Even though she’s been crafting her naughty tales for more years than she’d like to share – her adventures as a published author began in 2011.

Once upon a time she was the lead singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She currently resides on the northern Oregon coast and when she’s not fantasizing about hot men she takes walks along the ocean and annoys the local Karaoke bar patrons.
