Shaye Evans M/M Best Selling Author

Born and raised in rural Australia, Shaye Evans is a proud bestselling author of inspirational, sexy M/M fiction and its many sub-genres for new adult and adults. At age nineteen, Shaye found her love in the genre when she read her first M/M and was instantly hooked, but it took her an entire year to begin writing her own.

While weaving inspiration through her work is Shaye's main goal, you'll also often find touches of spark in her projects that will leave you hanging for more. As an author and supporter to the LGBT community, Shaye wishes to inspire anyone who reads her books and hope they help in whatever insignificant or significant way.

When not writing or plotting her next piece, Shaye keeps busy by reading one of over four hundred books in her collection, designing her next book cover, walking her fur-baby, Shy, or shopping. She one day dreams of her books making it to the movies!

Week 1 - Rescued, book 1 in The Salvaged Series

At age sixteen, survival was all Colt Adams aimed for. Now at nineteen, he’s a college student and like all students who have finished their finals, Colt just wants to have fun and experience new things at local club DJ’s. But a night of harmless flirting turns dangerous when Colt collapses in the arms of a handsome uniformed stranger.

Who is this guy and why does he stay at Colt’s side until he wakes in the ER?

The past continues to haunt Colt but he’s not the only one running from regrets and memories he wishes to leave for dead. Can these two put their histories behind them to look to the future?

Colt has been on his own since he was sixteen when his already abusive father tossed him out on the lawn, literally, when he came out. Three years of making bad, but necessary, choices and Colt is finally in a good place. He's in college, has a room in the dorms, life is actually pretty good. Then a night at a local club ends disastrously. Waking up in the ER with no memory of how you got there, not to mention the hot guy you were watching is sitting next to your hospital bed, are things Colt should definitely be concerned about.

Chris is just a few years older than Colt, has a similar darkness in his past with his father and is also working his way through college to be a Paramedic. He notices Colt the moment he walks into the club, his clothing, his shy demeanor, everything about Colt says he should not be in the club. The two exchange a few looks and shy smiles across the club, thankfully, so when Colt gets into a little trouble, Chris is there to ensure he is okay.

The first story in a new series that has potential. Chris and Colt are smitten with each other from that first glance, that first shy, awkward smile. They have a lot more in common than either of them even realize until closer to the end of the book. There were a few things in the story that didn't mesh, couple times the change from one thing to the next felt choppy, but overall I really liked this book. I'm intrigued thoroughly... I want to know why the nurse in the ER called Colt by name, before she was told his name. I want to know what's going to happen with Colt and his estranged mother. And I especially must know where the next book will take Colt and Chris.

There is definite chemistry that must be explored, and though the potential for a relationship seems rushed, it will make more sense when their pasts are fully revealed. Tortured souls tend to gravitate to each other, and I'm hoping they can help each other heal. If you are looking for a new Author or series with great potential, solid storyline and pretty well developed characters, give this one a go.
