In The Present Tense by @carriepack Blog Tour | Spotlight, Excerpt &#giveaway {@PridePromo}

Miles Lawson goes to sleep dreaming of a future with his boyfriend Adam, but wakes to find he is married to Ana, an acquaintance from high school. When he learns he has been time traveling, Miles is consumed with finding a cure for his rare condition—and finding his first love.

Traveling more frequently, Miles assembles the puzzle pieces of his life and, in doing so, alienates his wife. As he loses control, Miles must realize that sometimes fixing your past mistakes means changing your future. But will he be able to convince Adam he is telling the truth before it’s too late?

Excerpt:

Miles sat there and tried to make out shapes and colors in the dark room as he searched his brain for a memory of anything.
Nothing looked familiar. His desk, his drum set, the sheets—all gone. Not one thing looked the way it had when he'd fallen asleep, and Ana certainly hadn't been in his bed.
He tried to replay the previous day's events, but everything seemed fuzzy, like a fogged bathroom mirror that he couldn't wipe clean.
Why was everything so fuzzy?
Last night... What happened last night?
Adam had come over and they were watching TV together, and Adam had given him a small stuffed giraffe because Miles was scared about having surgery. He reached for his left arm, expecting to find the cast that had been there for the last two months, but it wasn't there. His heart began to beat so loudly he glanced over at Ana to make sure she was still asleep.
Unable to determine what had happened to his cast, Miles resumed his tally of the previous evening's chain of events. At around ten-thirty, his mom said Adam had to leave because they had to get up early to go to the hospital. He had taken his pain meds and gone to sleep with the phantom of Adam's goodnight kiss on his cheek. He'd been happy.
He'd gotten a text from Ana earlier in the evening, but she was only wishing him luck with the surgery. She hadn't come over. In fact, as far as Miles knew, Ana had been several hours away in her dorm room.
So how had she gotten into his bedroom? And who had changed his sheets?
He threw off the covers and stood up, noticing he was only wearing a tight-fitting pair of boxer briefs instead of his usual basketball shorts.
He looked around the room for anything familiar, but it was still dark out, and all he could see were shadows and vague shapes. On the dresser opposite the bed, he found a few framed photos. Squinting to see without turning on a light, Miles studied the images carefully.
As his eyes focused, he recognized a couple of the photos. One was from last year's prom: Adam wearing that ridiculous corsage Miles had bought him, Ana being dipped by her date, David, as all four of them smiled widely in front of a cheesy faux tropical scene. One of the frames held a collage of photos of his and Ana's friends. He recognized Adam, Lucky, Antonio, Dahlia and Brienne. But the last one, the largest of all the photos, was of him and Ana—her in a flowing white dress and him in a black suit, both wearing broad smiles and flanked by Miles's parents and a woman Miles had only seen once: Julia Espinosa, Ana's mother.
A loud clatter echoed through the bedroom as the frame hit the edge of the dresser and fell to the hardwood floor. This wasn't his room, and he didn't remember that photo being taken.
"Go back to sleep," Ana mumbled, her voice muffled by the pillow.
"Ana," he whispered, risking her full anger, but unable to stop himself, "we're married."
"Thanks for the update. Now go back to sleep before I divorce your dumb ass."
He dropped to the floor on his knees, barely even noticing the sharp pain of bare skin hitting the hard surface.
Married. To Ana?
What the hell had happened?

Dirty Secret (Cole McGinnis Mystery series book 2) by @Rhys_Ford narrated by @GTremblayVoice | Tams and Cats Audiobook Reviews #mmromance #LGBT @Dreamspinners

What are Tams and Cat are listening to this week.

Dirty Secret
Cole McGinnis Mystery
Book 2

  • Written by: Rhys Ford
  • Narrated by: Greg Tremblay
  • Length: 8 hrs and 4 mins
  • Unabridged Audiobook

  • Release Date:05-08-14
  • Publisher: Dreamspinner Press LLC

  • Buy links: Dreamspinner Press | Audible |
  • Amazon Audio | iTunes

  • Loving Kim Jae-Min isn’t always easy: Jae is gun-shy about being openly homosexual. Ex-cop turned private investigator Cole McGinnis doesn’t know any other way to be. Still, he understands where Jae is coming from. Traditional Korean men aren’t gay—at least not usually where people can see them.

But Cole can’t spend too much time unraveling his boyfriend’s issues. He has a job to do. When a singer named Scarlet asks him to help find Park Dae-Hoon, a gay Korean man who disappeared nearly two decades ago, Cole finds himself submerged in the tangled world of rich Korean families, where obligation and politics mean sacrificing happiness to preserve corporate empires. Soon the bodies start piling up without rhyme or reason. With every step Cole takes toward locating Park Dae-Hoon, another person meets their demise—and someone Cole loves could be next on the murderer’s list.

  • Cat gives this one 5 Purrs with 4 Meow heat index...

  • Cole McGinnis is a private Detective hired to find a man missing for a long time to give his sons a peace of mind? Murder and mayhem ensues.

This series keeps getting better and better. There is a new action plot, more emotional stuff for both Cole and Jae-Min and some really hot sex scenes.
I loved Dirty Secret. Though when Cole goes to his brothers for dinner and confronts his father and stepmother...I didn't see that coming and it broke my heart. I cried for Cole.

The plot kept me on the edge of my seat. You never knew who would get shot next and the action was nailbiting , the sex so hot.

I listened to the audio version and loved Greg Tremblay's performance. There is a lot of Korean words and names I don't think I could've given the justice he does. He does such an excellent job at acting out the book not just reading it.He gets breathless, whispers, whatever the action calls for. The narration f the sex scenes are smoking hot and the action nail biting. I couldn't enjoy the book reading it as well as he does.

If you love mystery/suspense, Drama, Korean culture and some hot man-sex this is definitely for you.

  • Tams gives this one 5 Stars as well...

  • Private Detective Cole McGinnis and his lover, Kim Jae-Min, are trying to settle into as normal a relationship as their crazy lives will allow in the aftermath of Jae’s cousins death. While Cole is still haunted by the murder of his long time lover, Jae is at odds with himself. He is committed to Cole like he has never been to anyone else, but hides his sexuality for fear of being ostracized by his traditional Korean family.

When their mutual friend Scarlet asks for Cole’s PI skills in locating a friend that has been missing for close to twenty years, Cole accepts the job and soon comes to regret that decision. Wherever Cole and Jae go, madness and mayhem are sure to follow, and this time is no exception. As the bodies start to drop Cole becomes more desperate to solve the mystery. Is Scarlet’s friend really missing, or is he dead? Worse, could he be the one doing all the killing?

What I thoroughly love about this series is the electric, scorching, white hot fucking chemistry between Cole and Jae. I’m talking bed breaking, hip bruising, resorting to speaking another language because your brain is completely fried, mind numbing sex! It’s utterly fantastic, a thing of beauty, truly. I digress... there is more to their story. Cole is a trouble magnet, wherever he goes death and dismemberment are sure to follow. His body is riddled with scars from all the near misses in his life, including the shooting that took the life of his former lover. His guardian angel must be seriously exhausted, the man always manages to make it out of the most harrowing situations alive.

Then there is the vivid and wildly described Korean culture that is wrapped around Jae, his family and his friends. It is no secret how that part of the country views homosexuality and Ford pulls no punches in her scripts. Jae is so obviously and stubbornly in love with Cole, but he’d just as soon die as admit to it, he is so afraid of losing his family. It’s something that Cole couldn’t truly grasp until he is face to face with his own hateful and ignorant parents for the first time in ten years. After a blood boiling confrontation with is step mother, Cole finally fully recognizes Jae’s fears. And I think their relationship grows stronger because of it.

Narrated by Greg Tremblay who is very monotone and matter of fact when he is portraying Cole, which is spot on with the way the character is written, but colourful and exasperating when reading Jae. Tremblay brings Cole’s dry and witty sense of humour to life while nailing all the various Asian characters with precision and finesse. Did I mention the hot, sweaty, passionate, toe curling sex? *fans self just thinking about it*

I think that Ford is such an accomplished writer that whether you chose to read or listen to this story, or both, that you would have the same experience. I just always love it when a narrator can take the words and really bring them to life, which is what Tremblay has done with this series. I can’t wait to see what dangerous and deadly mystery Cole and Jae stumble into in the next book!

~ Note, this is the second book in a series that should be read in order.

☆ 💥 ☆ SALE BLITZ ☆ 💥 ☆ Rockin' the Alternative by @MorticiaKnight #99centsale & #giveaway (week 2 giveaway details and entries)

It's time for the 2nd week giveaway to start. I've added another step to the Rafflecopter for you to gain another entry.

And then there is the added bonus of getting a fast, fun read for just 99 cents.

The chance of a lifetime and the touch of a rock god are offered to music journalist Bryan Gallagher on the same day. Embracing one is easy, but resisting the other is harder than he’d anticipated—especially since Bryan has never been with a man.

It could be his dream assignment. Aubrey King, the legendary god of alternative rock music, has requested to meet with journalist and writer Bryan about penning the star’s memoir. Aubrey and his dark, angsty songs are the reason Bryan was inspired to become a leading rock journalist. His obsession for his career has alienated the women in his life, but Bryan doesn’t care. What really matters to him is the music.

Aubrey King has been out of the music scene for almost ten years—ever since his alternative rock band, Falling in Stereo, broke up. Questions about his sexual preferences have always surrounded him, and now that he’s ready to make a solo comeback, he wants to tell his story, his way. He’s followed journalist Bryan Gallagher’s career for a while and believes that Bryan’s obvious passion for music mirrors his own. He loves his writing style, but is also enraptured by the boyishly handsome writer.

Brian finds pushing his fanboy nervousness aside is difficult when Aubrey finally stands before him. He’s amazed at how little Aubrey has changed—his intense gaze, his unique style and his still youthful looks epitomise the star he’s always been. But Aubrey’s vulnerability when he sings and shares the deeply personal lyrics of a new song triggers something in Bryan that he never knew was there. The need to give himself to Aubrey, to let the rock god do to him what he’s never before desired a man to do.

M/M Erotic Romance author Morticia Knight enjoys hot stories of men loving men forever after. They can be men in uniform, Doms and subs, rock stars or bikers - but they're all searching for the one (or two!) who was meant only for them.

When not indulging in her passion for books, she loves the outdoors, film and music. Once upon a time she was the singer in an indie rock band that toured the West Coast and charted on U.S. college radio. She is currently working on more installments of Sin City Uniforms and The Hampton Road Club, as well as the follow-up to Bryan and Aubrey's story from Rockin' the Alternative.

Author of the Month Spotlight with @wittauthor | Coming Soon | #giveaway #TTCAOTM

Now that the Autism Auction has ended, it's time to start the TTC AOTM feature once again.
This month I'm thrilled to have Brandon Witt sharing all his great stories with us!
I believe Brandon was a Movie Star in another life, his alter ego is ten kinds of fabulous.
{click here to go to "The Witty Hour" on youtube and meet said alter ego}

It's the last week for May's Author of the Month, Brandon Witt. Let's see what irons he has in the fire...

Are you working on anything at the present you would like to tell us about?

I’m in the final round of edits for Son of Money.  Here is the blurb.  You’re the first to see it.  In fact, it’s not even done, so I may change a bit before the final reveal.

Randall Morgan, youngest son of one of Seattle’s wealthiest families, rejected his family’s money to live free of their control and pursue his career as a photographer. To make ends meet, Randall does erotic photography and massage—a secret he keeps from his family so he can remain a part of his young niece’s life. But the price of that relationship is high, and Randall is slipping under his family’s thumb.
Noah Carroll is the spokesperson for the Seattle Humane Society. Years ago his family left Seattle, but the city holds a special place in his heart. When fate intervenes during a pet adoption at the humane society, Noah finds himself face to face with his first love—Randall.
While Noah and Randall are not the teenagers they once were, the flame of a first kiss long ago draws them together. Their romance is just beginning to grow, but someone is out to destroy Randall and expose all he keeps hidden.
When secrets and rumors thrust Randall into the public eye, his relationship with Noah isn’t the only thing that comes under threat.

In the next month or two, Myths Untold: Faery, an anthology about fairies is being released through Wilde City.  And in June my short story, Shifting Silver, is coming out through Dreamspinner Press—It’s about a Unicorn shifter. (You can see both of those covers on my website.)
I’m also working on a series of five books called Rocky Mountain Boys, that follows the romantic lives of five friends of varying generations who live in Estes Park, Colorado.  Between those, I’m also in the planning stages of a series of novellas (new type of writing for me), but I haven’t even nailed down the name of the series yet.

Don't want to wait for the next great Brandon Witt novel? Here are a couple of Anthologies that he has participated in, perhaps a sexy little short to wet your appetite until the next new release is available...
