Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts by @CharlieCochet | Tams 4.5 Star Audiobook Review {@Dreamspinners}

Julian “Quinn” Quintero, a gruff, tough Miami SWAT officer, has been injured on the job, and all he’s looking for is a little peace and quiet to recover—difficult to achieve with his large Cuban family. An adventure in picking up his prescriptions puts him in the path of his geeky, brownie-baking neighbor, Spencer Morgan. Spencer sweeps into Quinn’s life like a tropical storm of sunshine and rainbows. Not surprisingly, it’s chaos at first sight. Quinn’s in need of a little tender loving care, and Spencer decides he’s just the man for the job. Their very different lives might clash, but they might also find some common ground—and maybe more.

Spencer Morgan is an excellent cook and a little bit of a clutz. Shy and somewhat introverted, he’s crushed on his neighbor, Quinn for the better part of a year. When Quinn is hurt on the job and stuck at home, Spencer goes out of his way to help him.

Quinn is a Miami SWATT officer on leave after getting his leg shot up during a drug bust. All he wants to do is take his pain meds, sleep and heal so he can get back to work. Spencer comes along and derails that plan. He’s adorable and slightly accident prone, but he’s actually fun to be around.

My favorite part of this story was how Spencer removed himself from his comfort zone in order to spend time with Quinn. And what he wound up doing was showing the serial dater that happiness could be found with just one man, it just had to be the right man.

Short, Sweet and oh so much fun! I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this story. Cochet wove a wonderful web for Quinn to get stuck in, then Stellman brought the characters to life with his exuberance and energy. There was a lot of content in this story for just a couple hours, I really felt that the characters were fleshed out and well conveyed, nothing rushed or undercut along the way. My only issue with the story was Stellman’s voice for Quinn. I’m very torn on it. I loved that the bi-lingual was fluent and flawless… I just pictured Quinn with a more stout, deeper tone to his voice. Aside from that, such a great story and I still highly recommend it.

Charlie Cochet is an author by day and artist by night. Always quick to succumb to the whispers of her wayward muse, no star is out of reach when following her passion. From adventurous agents and sexy shifters, to society gentlemen and hardboiled detectives, there’s bound to be plenty of mischief for her heroes to find themselves in, and plenty of romance, too!

Currently residing in Central Florida, Charlie is at the beck and call of a rascally Doxiepoo bent on world domination. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found reading, drawing, or watching movies. She runs on coffee, thrives on music, and loves to hear from readers.
