Death and Destruction by @PatriciaLogan1 - Cat's 5 Star Review, Excerpt, Dream Cast & #giveaway #mmromace #LGBT

Forced to go into witness protection, ATF Special Agent Thayne Wolfe, is less than thrilled. The State’s Attorney needs him to testify against one of the most ruthless and notorious arms dealers in the world. Expecting boredom and lots of daytime television, he instead ends up with a ridiculous new job, a stupid new name, and the world’s most annoying shadow. Jarrett Evans, is nevertheless tasked with keeping Wolfe alive long enough to put Mills Lang and his crew away for the rest of their miserable lives.

Jarrett Evans, former Marine, has always been a free spirit, doing the dirty work for Uncle Sam whenever and wherever he’s needed. One of the best snipers in the world, Evans is at peace with the man he’s become. That doesn’t mean he’s ever liked the cold-blooded killer who stares back at him from the mirror every day. The moment he meets pretty boy Thayne Wolfe, things start a slow change and redemption begins to sound possible.

Mills Lang, the world’s most ruthless arms dealer, is little more than a serial killer in his own right. Rotting away in prison with nothing but time on his hands, Lang is determined to destroy the man he allowed into his inner circle. Thayne Wolfe will die in the most painful way… along with anyone he loves.

*Please Note* Title includes an exciting excerpt from “Flash and Bang”

Thayne Wolfe has been undercover for two years. Now he is out and finds a price on his head, being the only witness to the dangerous gun dealer and murderer Mills Lang. Instead of WITSEC, he is placed under the care of Jarret Evans a sniper, assassin and bodyguard.   Both men are not into relationships with their jobs and very different or each other. They are also perfect or each other though they resist that pull.

I absolutely loved this book. It's not love at first sight. These guys bicker and fight like two roosters in a henhouse. It's fun. And the job Thayne is given while hidden? A hairstylist at Cut the Crap? Oh yes, this book is fun, and yet the storyline is full of drama, mystery, and intrigue.  It kept me reading and wanting more. The ending was perfect, and  I want the next book now!

If you like drama, suspense, a touch of humor, some hot man-sex and a touching ending I highly recommend this book.

Excerpt from Death and Destruction...

They sat in silence beside each other, listening to the sound of gulls, the laughter of children, but most of all, the waves as they endlessly lapped against the shore.

“I’ve always loved this place,” Thayne said, sounding melancholy.

“Me too,” Jarrett agreed. “Came here the first time I came to Los Angeles. It was after my first tour. I remember it just like this,” he drawled. He felt the weight of Thayne’s gaze as he turned to stare at him but he kept his eyes forward, pulling up his knees and resting his chin on his crossed arms. “Had just come home from Europe on medical leave after bein’ sent Stateside to recuperate.”

“Where in Europe and recuperate from what?” Thayne asked.

Jarrett grinned. “I got this nasty head wound in Iraq and I guess I was in a coma for a few weeks while they decided if I was gonna come out of it. When I finally did, I was in Germany and this doctor was leaning over, givin’ me a neurological exam and he kept shining this light in my eyes, askin’ me questions. He had a really thick British accent and that light was pissing me off so when I finally answered, I copied his accent.”

Thayne stared at him and grinned back. “Seriously? What did he do?”

“He was confounded.”

Thayne laughed.

“Seriously, the more he shined that damn light in my eyes and asked questions, the more determined I was to fuck with him so I kept answering in this British accent.” Jarrett chuckled, loving the way the fading light of the sunset danced in Thayne’s laughing eyes.

“So, he thought you were serious? Like something happened to you?” Thayne asked with a grin.

Jarrett nodded, getting into the story. “He kept lookin’ down at the chart, checking my dog tags to make sure he had the right guy, calling in other doctors, making me talk for them. It was a fuckin’ hoot.”

Thayne threw back his head and laughed. “Oh, my god, that’s so bad. They must have known you were fucking with them.”

Jarrett sat up straight, talking with his hands as he got into the story. “No. In fact, they came back the next day and made me do it all over again. I kept it up and then the next morning that first doctor comes back in and tells me they have a diagnosis.”

Thayne was laughing so hard by now, he was holding his middle. “What?”

Jarrett chuckled at Thayne now. “They told me I had Foreign Accent Syndrome.”

“What the fuck? That’s not a thing.” Thayne asked with wide eyes. Shock was all over his face.

Jarrett grinned, nodding vigorously as Thayne cracked up. “Seriously. It’s a thing. It’s rare but it’s where ya get a stroke or a knock on the head and wake up speakin’ a different language.”

Thayne gasped for breath, holding his stomach as he was consumed with hilarity. Jarrett couldn’t help laughing himself as he watched Thayne. He chuckled for a minute or two and then turned back to him. “They asked me where I was from and where I’d lived, where my mother was from. I told them Birmingham.”

“England?”

“By that time, he was convinced of it,” Jarrett snickered, “If he only knew I meant Alabama.”
