After being kicked out of college due to false claims of plagiarism, Jason's life has taken a turn for the worse. Swamped with student loans and unable to pay rent, he is literally at his wit's end when he meets Guy Winters. Everything about Guy is fascinating: his lifestyle, his appearance, his generosity. So when Jason faces potential homelessness, he agrees to move in, but it isn't long before he realizes that Guy seems different. He's vague about where he works, the temperature is always freezing in his home, and his touch renders Jason breathless beyond what any passion should.

After a home invasion leaves a man dead, a horrifying truth comes to life. Guy isn't human, and another of his kind is in Austin, leaving trail of bodies in its wake that frames both men for murder. With Jason’s fingerprints in the apartment and a gunshot that will have sent the police department scrambling, there's no time to explain. The only thing they can do is run.

Tam's gives this one 4 Stars - 3 Stars for the story - 5 Stars for the Narration...

"Just different enough to be intriguing"
Overall

Story
What did you love best about His Touch of Ice?
Honestly, the narration. I love the different voices and tones Leslie uses when conveying a story. I must say that the story itself is just different enough to be intriguing.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I was very interested in the Kaldr and why Guy fled.
Jason's backstory, not so much. Once the two of them got together and the road wasn't so bumpy, I really got into the storyline.

Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favorite?
Amadeo, one of Guy's fathers.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, and I did.

Any additional comments?
There were a lot of holes in the story, many times when it didn't flow well from one chapter to the next. But Leslie still managed to capture my attention and hold it from start to finish. I really like stories where the vampire like race, the Kaldr or the cold ones, feed off something other than blood. Sexual energy is very powerful, and I love it when an author can bring that into the story and make it believable.

I'd recommend this to fans of the more paranormal romance and different kinds of relationships. Guy and Jason are anything but conventional, hell, they aren't even nuclear they are more damaged and.... passionate in an odd sort of way. You'll just have to either read or listen to see.
