@TTCBooksandmore 12 Days of #giveaway Event | Day 9 LC Chase @LC_Chase @RiptideBooks @nickjrussovoice

Happy Holidays everyone and welcome to TTC Books and more 12 Days of Giveaways event!

I've teamed up with 12 amazing Authors to put together 12 days of fun that will include promos, spotlights, reviews, special Christmas guest posts and... giveaways! Each day starting today and going through December 23rd will spotlight a different Author, and each Author is offering up a giveaway on their day. You could win e-books, giftcards, swag and more. Can you believe it's Day 9 already??? I'm very fortunate today to be hosting Author LC Chase and her amazing Christmas story, A Fortunate Blizzard.

Artist Trevor Morrison has always appreciated the little things in life, treating each day as a gift. And with good reason; he's been on the transplant-recipient list for too long now. When he learns just how numbered his days truly are, he resolves not to take them for granted. But he won't be unrealistic, either - which means romantic commitments are off the table.
Marcus Roberts seems to have it all. He's handsome, financially sound, and on the fast track to partnership at a prestigious law firm. In reality, though, his drive for success has meant no time for friends or relationships. Add in the fact that his family discarded him long ago, and he's facing yet another holiday season alone.
When the biggest snowstorm to hit Colorado in decades leaves Marc and Trevor stranded at the same hotel, a chance encounter and a night of passion lead to more than either of them expected. Finding comfort in each other is a welcome surprise, but time is not on their side. Either they find a way to beat the odds, or they lose each other forever.

"A beautifully broken story brought to life."
Overall
Performance
Story
What did you love best about A Fortunate Blizzard?
The way that these two men fall for each other while trying to convince themselves they shouldn't.

What did you like best about this story?
Aside from the amazing job the Author did when writing it, I enjoyed reading a book about two grown men acting like grown men. Very little angst, lots of emotion and passion and even a bit of heart break.

What about Nick J. Russo’s performance did you like?
Ah-Mazing! He nailed both characters voices flawlessly. He has this bravado tone to his voice that I just love, it's like honey dripping from the vine.

Who was the most memorable character of A Fortunate Blizzard and why?
Trevor, hands down. The decision he had to make and the affect it had on him, it tore me up.

Any additional comments?

Tams e-book review November 2015

What if one night, one chance meeting could change your life? Would you take that leap of faith if you have already convinced yourself that none of it matters? That is exactly the choice Trevor Morrison has to make. Trapped at a local hotel during one of the worst Blizzards on record, Trevor meets Marc, and enigmatic Lawyer with mesmerizing green eyes. The attraction is mutual and immediate so they decide to enjoy each other for the night. But when the sun comes up, Marc finds himself wanting more than just the one night stand that was agreed upon. Trevor is adamant that it's not possible, but when he can't find a flight out and faces the possibility of spending Christmas alone, Marc jumps at the chance to take Trevor to his home and show him what it could be like if he would only say yes.

I really enjoyed the strangers in the night aspect of the story and the chemistry between the characters. While there is a heaviness on Trevor's shoulders because he is facing the very real possibility that he won't find a donor in time, that he will finally succumb to kidney failure, Chase balanced that level of sadness with love and passion. Marc wants Trevor in his life, but more than that, he wants Trevor to live and he will stop at nothing to ensure that, even if he doesn't remain a part of Marc's life.

A variety of emotions played out in the pages of this story. Angst, passion, sadness, determination and love. It was well written, well rounded and wonderfully conveyed. Definitely a must read, I devoured it in one setting, just could not put it down.

NOTE: This book was on my 'Top 10 of 2015' list and the Audiobook will most likely be on my 'Top 10 of 2016' list.

And now, I'm so excited, a special Christmas story just for you, from LC Chase!

No Refund No Exchange
A Christmas Tale by L.C. Chase

“Kevin! Where are you?” Jack’s sing-song voice carried from the front foyer into the living room, where Kevin had been enjoying brandy-spiked eggnog with their parents and extended family. “I’ve got a special Christmas gift for you.”

Kevin met his parents’ eyes and raised his brows. They both shrugged their shoulders, and shook their heads, as in the dark as he was about whatever Jack was up to now. And up to something he was. Kevin’s older brother was the biggest prankster he’d ever known. He loved that Jack had never lost that playful youthfulness as they’d grown from rebellious kids to responsible adults—unless he was the recipient of said pranks.

“Better go see what fun and games he’s up to now.” Grinning, Kevin put down his drink and stood.

“May the Force be with you,” one of his cousins teased from across the room.

Laughter followed him as he rounded the corner into the foyer, where he found Jack, his younger sister Anna, and a stranger shaking snow off their jackets. An extremely good-looking stranger, he couldn’t help but notice. Tall, broad-shouldered, dark hair trimmed neat, and eyes so brilliantly blue they glowed from across the room. The man was impeccably dressed in a black wool car coat over a hunter-green cable sweater, and black designer jeans. The kind of man who was so far out of Kevin’s league he may as well have been from Mars.

“Ah, there you are.” Jack stepped forward and half turned toward the man, sweeping his arm in a grand gesture. “Straight from the North Pole, as requested in your letter to Santa. Allow me to introduce the man of you dreams, Colin.”

Screech.

“What—” letter to Santa?

Oh, no…

How could Jack possibly know about that silly letter, written in jest after copious amounts of alcohol and prompted by his sister? A letter Kevin was certain he’d destroyed. Unless... had Anna told Jack... He looked to his sister, guilt flashed across her forehead in red neon.

Kevin growled. “Anna…”

As if Jack knowing about that letter wasn’t embarrassing enough, his brother had the gall to bring some random man home with him, obviously filled in on the joke, to pose as his Christmas wish. Mortified couldn’t even begin to describe how Kevin felt at that moment, but the fire spreading over his cheeks did a good job of nonverbal expression.

“I’m sorry, Kevin,” Anna said, holding her hands up in surrender. He had never been able to stay mad at her, because no matter how much trouble she got into—or got them all into—her heart was always in the right place. “We only wanted to help you find someone. I trusted Jack not to be so immature about it though.”

“Jack?” Kevin snorted. “Surely you’ve met our brother?”

“Come on, Kev,” Jack said, clapping a hand on Colin’s shoulder. “I work with Colin. He’s a great guy, and he really wanted to meet you. At least give him a chance.”

Too embarrassed to speak, Kevin shook his head, and stormed out of the room. Let that teach me to write drunken letters to Santa.

Kevin did his best to ignore Colin as the evening grew on. Well, he tried to. Not only was Colin a seriously attractive man, he had a natural charisma and dry sense of humor that had everyone in stitches. Except for Kevin. He had to bite the inside of his cheek several times to stifle laughing. He would not engage. Nope. No way no how. To his dismay, however, he found himself hyper aware of the man—every nuance in Colin’s sonorous voice, the way his hands moved when he talked, how confidently he held himself in a room of just-met people, the way dimples bracketed his mouth when he smiled. Yet each time Kevin saw Colin coming his way, he bolted in the opposite direction.

If only they’d met under normal circumstances, instead of as a practical joke set up by his brother, he’d have been genuinely interested in Colin. Not that he’d have ever believed for a second someone like Colin would be interested in someone like him—a biology nerd who couldn’t catch a tan if he spent a month naked on the sun.

His gaze met Colin’s and their eyes locked. Colin’s expression slowly changed from humorous to an intensity that sent heat spilling into Kevin’s belly. Kevin had to hand it to him. The man was a brilliant actor. Jack did good on this one. But it was too much. Kevin turned and made a dash for the cold crisp winter air on the back patio.

“It wasn’t meant as a prank, what Jack and Anna did,” Colin said quietly, as he stepped out onto the patio behind him a few minutes later. “And I’m not here as a gag. The first time I saw your photo in Jack’s office my heart skipped a beat. I asked about you, but Jack said you were out of town on some sort of months-long assignment.”

“Oh, come on. This is just a joke to you.” Could he believe Colin? He wanted to, so badly. Colin stepped closer, so close Kevin could feel the heat radiating from his body, dancing over his. Making him want.

“No, Kevin. It isn’t,” Colin said. “When Jack asked me if I wanted to join him for Christmas, to meet you, I jumped at the chance. He never said anything about a letter to me. This wasn’t one of his pranks. I guess he couldn’t help himself when we walked into the house, but… I am here for you because I wanted to meet you. I’ve wanted to for months now.” He leaned closer, barely an inch between them, and whispered a low growl in Kevin’s ear. “And if you give me, us, the chance maybe we can be the man of both our dreams.”

Kevin couldn’t take this. Colin was too close, his body too hot and strong, and his warm breath gently caressing Kevin’s neck had his entire body thrumming. Practical joke or not, Kevin couldn’t deny he wanted Colin. But could he trust what Colin said, that he was truly here for Kevin? He stared into Colin’s eyes and saw the truth in smoldering blue.

“May I sample my gift?” Kevin whispered roughly. “You know, to be sure it fits?”

Colin expelled a ragged breath. “Absolutely.”

He cradled Kevin’s face in his hands and Kevin leaned in to brush his lips against Colin’s—gently teasing, tasting, learning. The feel of Colin’s mouth against his was like coming in from the cold, like coming home. Kevin deepened the kiss and Colin groaned, matching his demand. Colin pressed the full length of his solid body against Kevin, and Kevin wrapped his arms around Colin, holding him tighter, pulling him closer still. The world fell away until the only thing Kevin was aware of was the tangle of hands and tongues and heat.

“Eh-hem.”

Reluctantly pulling back, Kevin glared over Colin’s shoulder to see Jack standing in the doorway.

“So, little brother?” Jack folded his arms over his chest and a cocky smile lit his face. “Do I know how to pick a gift or what?”

The best damn Christmas present he’d ever received, but no way was he going to tell Jack that. It would just go to his head. Even when he was being sincere, Jack just couldn’t stop himself from getting a tease in. That was his brother.

“Yes, Jack. You make a great Santa,” he smiled, returning his gaze to Colin’s captivating eyes. “I think this gift might be a keeper.”

“Good,” Colin said, pulling him tighter, “because I’m a ‘no refund no exchange’ kind of gift.”
