Something's Brewing at Joe's by SJD Peterson | Cat's Release day Review, Excerpt & #giveaway @Dreamspinners @SJDPeterson

The promise of a dream job lures Murphy to Tampa, but he arrives to the rude awakening that the offer is on hold. Now he’s got two choices: slink back to Michigan with his tail between his legs or stay and look for work. Things perk up when he goes into a coffee shop and learns the owner is looking for someone to renovate the apartment above it. He happily takes the job, only later realizing he’s met Joe Sterling, Kaffeinate’s proprietor, before… when they hooked up at a club Murphy’s first night in Tampa.
Murphy and Joe are both proud, passionate, and outspoken. Neither is looking for a relationship, though they can’t deny they go together as well as coffee and doughnuts, in spite of their tempers. But that’s before Joe learns Murphy will be working for the corporation he believes is harming local businesses and the environment—and if Murphy will be supporting it, Joe wants nothing to do with him, dooming any possibility of an unexpected happy ending.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 5 Purr heat index...

I looove this cover. I also love the book. I will say it has a little more sex than I usually like in my books but if you are an S.J.D. fan you already expect this. If you haven't read any S.J.D. books and explicit sex isn't your fan, this story is still worth reading. I loved both characters. That is another thing i love about S.J.D. Peterson books is the strong characters. I liked how Joe and Murphy both seem so real and they are normal men with feelings. They know what they enjoy. I love how Murphy even if he is smaller takes control, how they deal with their hang-ups and how they cry. I like when man is made real not a macho person that doesn't exist in real life. I also loved Kali, Joe's employee.

The story line is interesting too. Of course their is lots of hot man-sex. If you like coffee shops, construction, a little twist, and some very hot man-sex you will love this one!

Excerpt...

“Alone at last,” Joe commented with a sultry tone.
“Thanks for the save. I’m Murphy, and you are?” He held out his hand.
Joe shook the offered hand. “Nice to meet you, Murphy. I’m Joe.” He nodded toward the empty stool next to Murphy. “Mind if I join you?”
Murphy raked his eyes up and down Joe’s body. The way he licked his lips when his gaze landed on Joe’s crotch made it glaringly obvious he felt the connection, too, and he liked what he saw.
“Be my guest.”
Joe pulled out the stool and straddled it, making a point to have the bulge in his shorts proudly on display. “You’re not from around here. I’d have remembered you,” he drawled.
“Michigan.”
“A Yank, huh? I hear you Michiganders can be a bit on the frigid side.”
“You heard wrong. The temperature may get below zero, but that just means you have to engage in physical activities that provide warmth.” Murphy’s voice was seductive and telling. “You ever been to the D?”
“Nope, but I’m hoping to get a little D tonight,” Joe said. No point in beating around the bush. He was horny.
Rory set their drinks down. He smiled at Joe, then glared at Murphy before moving down to tend to another customer.
Joe picked up his drink and took a small sip. “It seems you have made an enemy of our little Rory.”
Murphy shrugged. “I didn’t mean to offend him, but I wasn’t interested. He’s not my type.”
“And just what is your type?”
Murphy brought his beer to his lips. “You,” he replied, sounding confident as hell, then took a big gulp of beer.
“I was hoping you’d say that.” Joe palmed his dick.
“Anything in particular you’re looking for?”
Joe squeezed his cock, pushing up into his hand slightly. “I’d have thought that was pretty obvious.”
Murphy took another long pull from his draft, then ran the tip of his finger along the foam on his upper lip. Joe groaned when Murphy sucked that finger into his mouth and pulled it out deliberately.
“Yeah, it’s obvious, all right. I was just figuring we should discuss particulars. No sense wasting each other’s time.”
“Good point. Let’s hear them.”
“I work hard and play even harder. I prefer to top, but I’m not opposed to bottoming once in a while. I don’t do bareback, never have, never will. I also don’t do the awkward morning-after shit, and I don’t cuddle.”
Joe kept his features neutral, acting like he was considering Murphy’s offer, when really what he wanted to do was jump up and down and scream hallelujah.
Unable to hold his excitement back a second longer, he downed his drink and slammed the glass on the bar. “Well, Murphy from Michigan, tonight is your lucky night. Finish your drink.”
Murphy arched a brow. “And what, pray tell, makes me so lucky?”
Joe moved closer until his lips were against Murphy’s ear, getting a whiff of spicy cologne and clean sweat. “Because I’m going to let you ride my ass as hard and fast as you want, and I live a short two-minute walk from here.” He licked the shell of Murphy’s ear, grinning at the shudder it produced. “Now drink up.”
Murphy went to his feet. “Forget the drink, let’s go.”
Joe was out of his seat and pulling Murphy through the growing crowd without another word, feeling the big shit-eating grin spread across his face. He had the sneaking suspicion it wasn’t only Murphy’s lucky night.

Oversight (The Community book 2) by Santino Hassell Virtual tour | Cat's Review, Excerpt & #giveaway @RiptideBooks @SantinoHassell

How does he choose between the Community and those he loves?

Holden Payne has it all . . . or so he thinks. As heir to the founder of the Community—an organization that finds, protects, and manages psychics—he’s rich, powerful, and treated like royalty. But after a series of disappearances and murders rock the Community, he’s branded the fall guy for the scandal and saddled with a babysitter.

Sixtus Rossi is a broad-shouldered, tattooed lumbersexual with a man bun and a steely gaze. He’s also an invulnerable—supposedly impervious to both psychic abilities and Holden’s charms. It’s a claim Holden takes as a challenge. Especially if sleeping with Six may help him learn whether the Community had more to do with the disappearances than they claimed.

As Holden uncovers the truth, he also finds himself getting in deep with the man sent to watch him. His plan to seduce Six for information leads to a connection so intense that some of Six’s shields come crashing down. And with that comes a frightening realization: Holden has to either stand by the Community that has given him everything, or abandon his old life to protect the people he loves.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 3 Purr heat index...

This is a book two in a series and you do need to read the first to really understand what is going on here.

Holden is dealing with the aftermath of nearly being killed by the woman his dad put in charge of watching the club. even though some of his friends insist there is a bigger picture he wants to believe the psychic vampire was working on her own. .With two dead friends and one on the run and his brother missing his life is in an uproar. His father putting a big viking type guy on him to keep him in line doesn't help. Sixtus is impenetrable.  Holden's dad thinks putting him with olden Holden will not be able to influence Six with his psychic abilities.

With each book we delve deeper and deeper into the Psychic community. We are seeing it isn't the happy go lucky safe  place we thought it was designed to be. Santino Hassell has came up with some very intriguing characters and different abilities. I love this world. The story isn't to complicated to follow and the suspense and mystery are just enough to keep you on the edge of the page. There were twists I  never saw coming and I loved the touch of building romance with Holden and Six. I also loved the name Sixtus.

If you love a supernatural story. psychic abilities, hot men and a suspense that is nail biting with a touch of hot man-sex  you will love this one. I cannot wait for the final book in this trilogy.

About The Community Series

What lies beneath the surface of the world you thought you knew?

Secrets and lies have twisted an underground community founded by psychics escaping persecution. Blackmail, sex, and social climbing in the name of power has created an irreparable rift.

In the eyes of the founders, there are two sides: loyalists and everyone else. Surely no one would emerge from their tightly woven webs. And they certainly wouldn’t sow the seeds of rebellion within the heart of the Community’s only queer night club.

Now an outcast, a scion, and a runaway are leading a revolution to save not only the men they love, but the entire Community.

Excerpt...

There was something about having a six-foot-six bouncer kneeling between his thighs that left an indelible impression on Holden.
In his youth, the big guys had always refused to suck him off. They’d also refused to bend over for him. It would have been fine had the refusals not been tinged with the undeniable odor of disdain for men who enjoyed such acts. Even as a teenager, Holden had not been there for anyone’s toxicity or self-loathing fuckery. He was there for sex, not therapy. If he wanted therapy, he’d go to the Community Watch and overshare with Community counselors about his sexual frustrations like so many other people did.
Instead, he’d gravitated to twinks and—back when the term was an accepted part of the gay lexicon—flamers. Men who didn’t feel obligated to perform society’s version of masculinity. And it’d been fine at first, but he was attracted to many, so why limit himself to a few?
A decade later, all that had changed. The world hadn’t run out of toxic self-loathing men, but sexual hang-ups seemed to fall away as people got older, and the millennials seemed to be born without them. Holden’s thirties had definitely been more fun than his twenties. People were more willing to go out of their comfort zones, and that he was definitely here for. Especially if it came in the form of six-foot-six Vikings.
Not only was the allegedly straight giant more talented than expected with his tongue, but he’d had no hesitations about gracing his boss with some oral attention before Evolution opened for the evening. Holden hadn’t needed to soothe overactive hetero nerves with his psychic abilities—Stefen’s eagerness had been one hundred percent genuine. Now here he was, proving to the world—or just to Holden—that more men than the general public liked to believe were willing to get on their knees for the right queer.
“Faster,” he said, stroking the shiny red hair falling around his thighs. “Take it all the way down.”
A muffled sound answered the suggestion.
Holden was glad Stefen couldn’t talk. He was a new employee at Evolution, and he hadn’t proven to be the brightest bulb in the box they’d been hurriedly trying to fill for the past few months. All it had taken was another big scandal, this one bigger than the others, to clear the Community’s only LGBT club of its staff. People were starting to think it was cursed. Or targeted.
In a way, they were right.
When the disappearances had begun, Holden hadn’t found a connection between the psys who’d wound up vanishing from his nightclub, but no matter what the rumor mill had claimed about his lack of action . . . he’d tried. Then Theo’s apparent suicide had turned his concern into outright terror. In all of their interactions, he’d never sensed the younger man had been a threat to himself. Just Evolution’s reputation. Holden’s reputation. And by default, his father’s and the Community’s.
The events leading up to Theo’s death had been a storm looming just beyond Evolution’s location on Tenth Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, a menacing darkness that had sent unease slithering along Holden’s body, but the murder of Theo’s boyfriend, Jericho, had sealed it for Holden. There was no denying that something wasn’t right with the club after a crowd of club goers had swarmed the Dreadnought’s bass player in a sudden homicidal fury. It had to be connected to Theo and the disappearances Theo had been investigating. Yet Holden had never imagined the mastermind behind it all was the woman his own father had sent to watch over him. To make sure he wasn’t screwing up. What were the odds?
What were the odds.

What did you love best about Stuck in Oz?
I loved it all. I was in the mood for a sweet romance and this fit the order perfectly

What did you like best about this story?
I liked that though it was an instant attraction it moved at a nice steady pace. I liked that though Jeremy is small he stands up for himself and those he cares about.

What about Rusty Topsfield’s performance did you like?
I love Rusty Topsfield. I love how he has a voice for each character. I loved Nate's southern twang and Petey's little child voice.I think this sets his performance apart and makes the book even better.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
    Yes and I did.

    Any additional comments?
Stuck In Oz Tales from Kansas book two though it is book two in a series you can read alone. The characters from book one make a very short appearance bu you can understand this story just fine.

Stuck in Oz is sweet and a happy story to lift your spirits. Jeremy has his brother Petey and after his mother dies has gone to the only family member he knows. His mother and her brother weren't close but Milt doesn't turn them away.
There isn't a big plot, though there are a few small conflicts. The story is just sweet and heartwarming and hey it's Andrew Grey and narrated by Rusty Topsfield so you cannot go wrong.

Texting, Autocorrect, and a Prius by MA Church | Cat's Release day Review, Excerpt & #giveaway @Dreamspinners @nomoretears00

Clay McDonald finds the perfect car on Craigslist and is quick to send the seller a text:
Is your penis still for sale?

AutoCorrect strikes again. Damn—he should’ve proofread. How embarrassing.
Luckily Darrell Anderson, a mechanic and the owner of the Prius, is more amused than offended, and the two men agree to meet. When they do, the attraction is instant, and a date is arranged. But a series of mishaps, misunderstandings, and misplaced assumptions sorely test the new relationship.

In a contemporary romantic comedy about the perils of technology and dating in the modern world, a text that went so wrong might just lead to something so right—but only if Clay can refrain from jumping to conclusions and give love the benefit of the doubt.

Cat gives this one 4 Meows with a 4 Purr heat index...

This is a short, fun humorous and sexy book. It is a perfect beach read just be careful you may chuckle out loud especially at the blurb. That auto-correct I didn't see coming LOL!
Darrell is an older man and tired of hooking up, he owns his own shop and loves cars. He just got stuck with an older Prius when a customer didn't pay for repairs so he decides to sell it on Craig's list.

Clay works a lot and drives an hour to work. His truck is big and takes lots of gas so he is looking for a small older model car. He just got a new phone and when he sees the ad on Craig's list he sends a text without rereading it. (you will spew your drink when you read this!)

I loved this story. It was so fun. There is a little conflict, a twist, and humor.  The only issue I had was Darrell had a hookup the first night then you never hear no more about him. I saw no reason for having that in there, it just confused me. Then there was the two brothers. Maybe there will be more books I would love to read about the brothers and Sonny, Clay's friend.

If you like humor, short fun story, older men/younger men, and some hot man-sex you will love this

Excerpt:

“Didn’t I tell you to shut up?”
“Pretty sure you didn’t, but it might’ve gotten lost in all the whining you were doing about fuel mileage.”
“That wasn’t whining. That was stating facts.” Clay shrugged when Sonny smirked. “I need something small that has excellent fuel mileage. I’m going to drive that to work instead of the truck.”
“Huh. Isn’t it going to be odd moving from something as big as your truck to a small car?”
“I’m not planning to live in it, you know.”
Sonny shrugged. “I guess I can’t wrap my head around you in a small car. How much are you looking to spend?”
The waitress returned, so Clay waited to respond. She took their dinner orders, then left.
“Not more than I have to,” Clay said. “I’m looking for something used, so that’ll help. It doesn’t have to have all the bells and whistles like my truck. Like I said, this is just to get me to work and back.”
“Have you started looking?”
“Yeah, I’ve checked the dealerships in the area. So far I haven’t seen anything that appeals to me.”
“You could check Craigslist,” Sonny said as the waitress reappeared with a bread basket and salads. “The salads look good.”
“They do.” Clay unwrapped his silverware. After the first bite, he hummed in agreement. “Oh yeah, it is. By the way, Craigslist isn’t a bad idea. I knew there was a reason I kept you around.”
“Uh-huh. I thought it was for the entertainment value.”
“That too.”
