La Famiglia (A Men of Gilead Novel) by Deanna Wadsworth Cover Reveal @EJBookPromos @DeannaWadsworth

Title: La Famiglia
Series: A Men of Gilead Novel
Author: Deanna Wadsworth
Genre: M/M Romance Novel (standalone)
Release Date: January 23, 2018
Forrester Giordano comes from a huge, nosy Italian family, and with their homophobic jokes and slurs, he’s decided to stay in the closet. He finds respite in his bookstore in the quaint village of Gilead—where he has a huge crush on one of his customers, Kyle Benson.
Kyle is determined to live his dreams, and though life isn’t easy being deaf, one by one he’s making them come true. He’s scored a great job practicing law, bought a cute bungalow where he can finally have a big flower garden, and he has a dog he loves, Jasper. Now he just needs one thing to complete his happiness: a family of his own to make up for the one he never had.
Forrester and Kyle’s relationship starts off hot and heavy, and neither man can deny the depth of their connection. When Forrester’s little brother gets mixed up with their heroin-dealing cousin and his mother falls ill, Forrester has a decision to make—maybe the hardest of his life. For the first time, he’s found a man worth coming out for.
Unfortunately nothing ever goes according to plan with la famiglia.
So, Forrester.” Kyle said his name in a way that never ceased to send shockwaves down his back and straight to his cock. “How does one go about trading in books around here?”
Forrester pressed his groin closer to the back of the checkout counter, not wanting his thin khakis to reveal what Kyle’s voice did to him. He knew it wasn’t an accent anymore, but the soft way Kyle spoke lured him in like a siren’s song.
Since no one else waited to check out, Forrester took a moment to soak in those gorgeous hazel eyes, then smiled impishly. “First you have to bring them in.”
“That would be helpful.” Kyle’s generous mouth cracked a grin.
He tried his damnedest not to picture those downright kissable lips wrapped around his cock while he ran his fingers through Kyle’s sun-streaked hair.
He’d always had a thing for blonds.
He plucked up one of the flyers from the counter. Somehow he managed to sound professional, educated even, when he handed it over. “Our policy is we only take gently used books.”
“Mine are in great shape.”
“I bet they are,” Forrester drawled.
“They’re like new,” he insisted. “No folded corners, never dropped one in a tub either.”
“Good to hear. I hate it when people ruin a good book.” Dammit, now I’m picturing Kyle in a bathtub!
“Me too.” Kyle folded the flyer and tucked it into his pocket.
“For every book you trade in, we give 15 percent off the purchase of a new book or 25 percent off a used one. And for every three books, you get a free used book or half off a new one.”
Kyle flashed those pearly whites, making his eyes crinkle and his dimples deepen so much Forrester longed to flick his tongue inside them. “Guess I got some free books coming.”
“I guess you do,” he quipped. “Do you want to buy these today or wait till you do the trade?”
Kyle withdrew his card. “Nah, I’ll buy them now. I’ve been dying to see what happens since you got me hooked on this series. And Scott already signed this one.”
Forrester offered him a sideways smile. “I’ll just give you 15 percent off on good faith.”
“Gosh, you don’t have to do that.”
Good Lord, the guy said gosh. Could he be more adorable?
When Forrester noticed Holly watching them, he resisted the urge to stick his tongue out at her. Instead, he shrugged off Kyle’s modesty and entered the discount into his computer. “No problem. Just make sure you bring me some good stuff, capisci?”
“Will do. Thanks a lot.”
Forrester swiped his card, then offered Kyle another inviting smile. The one Ma called his suck-up smile. “Can I get you anything else? Answer any more of your questions?”
Kyle kept smiling. “No. You’ve been pretty thorough, as usual.”
“You sure?” he prompted, unable to stop flirting so shamelessly. “You don’t need to know anything else? What’s on the bestseller list? Today’s weather? The meaning of life?”
“Forty-two.”
Official report: Forrester was in love with Kyle Benson.
Or at least in serious lust.
His grin widened so big he swore his face might crack. “A Hitchhiker fan. I should’ve known.” He tore off the receipt and slid it forward for Kyle to sign.
“Hells yeah.” Kyle laughed.
Forrester bagged the books. “Receipt with you or in the bag?”
“Bag’s fine.” He accepted his purchases, then cleared his throat and fiddled with the bag. “All right, um, thank you, Forrester. Always a pleasure.” He extended a hand and Forrester took it, electric jolts running through his blood at the feel of those lightly calloused fingers.
“No problem,” he managed, not letting go.
Kyle kept his gaze locked on Forrester, blinking and glancing from his eyes to his mouth. Warming, Forrester ran his thumb across the back of his hand. He couldn’t believe his forwardness, but Kyle had some kind of tractor beam sucking him in. Powerless against its pull, he stroked the soft skin once more with a nervous, light touch, pulses of heat and desire stirring inside him.
Forrester let go and cleared his throat. “Um, Kyle?”
“Yeah?”
The phone rang, shattering the moment.
Sighing, he snagged it on the third ring. “Thank you for calling A Novel Idea. This is Forrester, how may I help you?”
“Hey, it’s me.”
Only real friends or family could answer a phone with an “it’s me.” Lucas Beale was the former. Though totally weird, and he hated sports of all kinds, Lucas was Forrester’s “boy best friend”—Holly having the honor of being his “girl best friend.” He didn’t know what he would do without either of them.
“Hey, Lucas, what’s up?” He tried not to sound annoyed at the telephone cockblock.
Kyle waved goodbye. “I guess I’ll see ya later, Forrester.”
“Can’t wait.”
“Can’t wait for what?” Lucas asked in confusion.
He covered the receiver, hoping he didn’t sound lame to Kyle. “I mean… uh, I can’t wait to read that book together?” His entire body froze in one breath of anticipation.
Kyle cocked his head to the side, then smiled. “Absolutely.”
Still grinning, Kyle turned and walked away.
Ignoring Lucas as he started talking again, Forrester watched Kyle’s spectacular ass as he headed to the door. A woman was coming in and, like a perfect gentleman, Kyle held the door for her. Outside, Kyle slid on and strapped his helmet. Then he threw his leg over and straddled the chrome-and-black Sportster parked out front.
I got something he can straddle and ride…. Forrester’s skin flushed all the way to his toes. Was Kyle a top or a bottom? Being versatile, he really didn’t care. As long as there was manly skin touching his, lots of kissing, and he got to come, Forrester was a happy camper. But the prospect of finding out what Kyle liked made his entire body warm.
He watched Kyle put his bike into gear and walk it back out of the space. As it did every time Kyle left, a deep ache settled in his stomach.
God, I just need to marry him.

"Scars are rarely only skin deep"
Colin Callahan worshiped his father, a firefighter in New York. But he was accidentally scarred in a fire as a child, his mother never forgave her husband and the family was never the same. Then Colin came out to her as a teenager and his mother rejected him as well. Life hasn't been easy, Colin has done his best to hover in the shadows, keep to himself and his sole focus is on graduating and starting a career. One food delivery turns his life upside down and changes all his plans.

Due to actions and incidents in the previous books, Alpha Marc Thierry has been promoted to third Alpha of the loup garou and must live part of his time in New York. He just might be the worlds oldest virgin as he believes in the customs of his people, that he has one person destined to be his mate and he'll wait for that person. Imagine his surprise when the scarred deliveryman that is jumpier than a jack rabbit turns out to be his destined mate.

While Marc works overtime to convince Colin they belong together someone in Marc's home pack in Minnesota is working overtime to make sure that the two do not mate. Secrets are revealed, lies uncovered and traders unmasked as Marc races against time to learn the truth, and save his mate.

I love how each new book is a continuation from the previous story. I completely disagree that this can be read or listened to as a stand alone story. You won't recognize any of the secondary characters or have any clue what they are referencing at times if you don't read/listen in order. You'll also be missing out on Joel Leslie's utterly amazing vocal talents. Leslie expertly delivers a multitude of accents in this story including French, Scottish and pissed off Alpha Wolf.

My only complaint with this book is the same complaint I've had with the other stories in the series, why do female wolves have to be degraded by constantly being referred to as "bitches"? I do not care if that is technically what they are, it grates on my nerves and pulls me out of the story every, single time. Aside from that, I am really enjoying these stories and I do hope Leslie will be bringing the others to life.

You Never Know written by Mary Calmes narrated by Greg Tremblay | Tams Audiobook Review & #giveaway @Dreamspinners @MaryCalmes @GTremblayVoice

You Never Know

Hagen Wylie has it all figured out. He's going to live in his hometown, be everybody's friend, explore new relationships, and rebuild his life after the horrors of war. No muss, no fuss is the plan. He's well on his way - until he finds out his first love has come home too. Hagen says it's no big deal, but a chance encounter with Mitch Thayer's two cute sons puts him directly in the path of the only guy he's never gotten out of his head.

Mitch returned for three reasons: to raise his sons where he grew up, to move his furniture business and encourage it to thrive, and to win Hagen back. Years away made it perfectly clear the young man he loved in high school is the only one for him. The problem? He left town and they have not talked since.

If Hagen's going to trust him again, Mitch needs to show him how he's grown up and isn't going to let go. They could have a new chance at love...but Hagen is insistent he's not reviving a relationship with Mitch. Then again, you never know.

"The heart knows what the heart needs "
Hagen Wylie and Mitch Thayer were high school sweethearts, surely voted most likely to succeed. But then Mitch went off to college and let the world dictate how he should live his life. Hagen wasn't just broken hearted, he was destroyed. Years later he finally has his life where he wants it to be, mostly. He's met a man that adores him and Hagen really, really likes him a lot. The problem is, he's not Mitch, he will never be Mitch, no one else will ever compare to Mitch. Then, speak of the devil and he turns up, Mitch is back in town and has his sights set on the man he could never forget. Can Hagen forgive the past? Can Mitch convince him he's worth the risk?

Let me tell you what I adored about this story, the constant inner monologue of one Hagen Wylie. A good portion of the story is Hagen. From his thoughts, to his beliefs, to reliving the past and trying to move past the pain. He's smart, intellectual and stubborn, everyone's friend and he belongs with Mitch. It does take a lot of soul searching to decide that though. And I really couldn't blame him with what Mitch put him through. But you only get one soul mate in each life, if that persons slips away and fate offers you another chance, don't slap her hand away.

Narrated by Greg Tremblay, need I say more? His voice drips from each word like honey. Engaging, intriguing and down right sexy. He truly brings the characters to life and, I have to say, he's the only narrator that puts everything he has into each and every word. Not just subtle nuances and tones, he puts depth and feeling into the Author's words and it's simply eargasmic.

Mary Calmes believes in romance, happily ever afters, and the faith it takes for her characters to get there. She bleeds coffee, thinks chocolate should be its own food group, and currently lives in Kentucky with a five-pound furry ninja that protects her from baby birds, spiders and the neighbor’s dogs. Fire and Flint (Carlisle Deputies book 1) by Andrew Grey | Tams Review, Excerpt & #giveaway @Dreamspinners @AndrewGreyBooks

A Carlisle Deputies Novel
Jordan Erichsohn suspects something is rotten about his boss, Judge Crawford. Unfortunately he has nowhere to turn and doubts anyone will believe his claims—least of all the handsome deputy, Pierre Ravelle, who has been assigned to protect the judge after he received threatening letters. The judge has a long reach, and if he finds out Jordan’s turned on him, he might impede Jordan adopting his son, Jeremiah.
When Jordan can no longer stay silent, he gathers his courage and tells Pierre what he knows. To his surprise and relief, Pierre believes him, and Jordan finds an ally… and maybe more. Pierre vows to do what it takes to protect Jordan and Jeremiah and see justice done. He’s willing to fight for the man he’s growing to love and the family he’s starting to think of as his own. But Crawford is a powerful and dangerous enemy, and he’s not above ripping apart everything Jordan and Pierre are trying to build in order to save himself….

Tams gives this one 5 stars...

Carlisle Deptuty, Pierre Ravelle, and Paralegal, Jordan Erichsohn, are thrust into each other's worlds unexpectedly and under the worst circumstances. The attraction is immediate, though Jordan pushes Pierre away at the start. His focus is on his job, adopting his foster son and staying out of of Judge Crawford's line of sight until the adoption is final. The problem is, Jordan is a good man, an honest soul, so he has to share what he's found. He's pleasantly surprised when Pierre believes him. The shock sets in when Pierre shows an interest in Jordan that is anything but professional.

Fire and Flint is the first book in a spin off series from the Carlisle Cops series. A few favorite characters from that line are given a nod in this book, but the core of this story is the mystery surrounding the Judge and the budding romance between Pierre and Jordan. It was such a treat to follow their love story. Pierre is big and imposing but he has a soft heart, especially where Jordan and his son, Jeremiah, are involved. Jordan has jumped through hoops to adopt his foster son. Being a single gay man were difficult to overcome, but he did, with flying colors. His boss has the power to crush that dream and everything Jordan has meticulously built with Jeremiah. And this poor kid. You get little glimpses of what he's had to endure at such a young age when the boy makes a comment here and there. I do hope that aspect is more thoroughly explored in coming books, I'd really like to know more.

Sexy and romantic with just the right amount of suspense and intrigue, Fire and Flint is a slow burn, gradually revealing more and pulling the reader into these characters world. I highly recommend this read, and while you don't have to read the previous series first, I recommend those books as well.

Excerpt...

“RAVELLE, I need to see you,” Sheriff Hunter barked from his office.
Sheriff Lew Hunter had a gruff way about him. It had taken Pierre a long time to understand that it was just how he was and not to take it personally. In short, the sheriff was pretty much an ass to everyone… except the voters, who seemed to love him. They’d elected him to the position three times. Maybe it was because he was really good at his job and the fact that the voters didn’t have to interact with him on a daily basis.
“Now!”
Pierre put aside the information on the prisoner he was getting ready to move from the downtown holding area to the courthouse and stood to walk into Sheriff Hunter’s office. “I’m about to go out on a transport.” He managed to keep the irritation out of his voice.
“I’m putting Stevens on that. I have something else I need you to do.” Hunter’s forehead glistened with sweat. The guy must go through three uniforms a day. The sheriff could soak through a shirt faster than anyone Pierre had ever met, and it was rolling off him today, so someone had really handed him his ass for some reason. And there weren’t many people who could do that. “I got a call from Judge Potter, the head judge at the courthouse. He reported that Crawford is getting threats of some kind, and they’ve been nasty.” Hunter half wheezed and sighed. “So that’s you. Head on over, take a look at what he’s been getting, and provide additional security.” He sounded as thrilled as Pierre felt about this whole thing.
In truth, Judge Crawford had a reputation for being the hanging judge, in a way. His sentences were generally as harsh as he could get away with. From a law enforcement perspective, Pierre couldn’t say he was disappointed. His compatriots worked hard to bring their cases, and making the punishment fit the crime was justice in his opinion.
But this kind of duty was dull, long, and about as exciting as watching grass grow most of the time. Pierre vastly preferred actually doing something rather than standing around at the door to the courtroom or judge’s chambers, watching and doing his best to intimidate everyone who approached.
“If that’s what you need.” He wasn’t going to argue. There was no point in it. Once Sheriff Hunter made up his mind, that was it.
“Good. That’s what I like about you. Smart enough to understand when you don’t have a choice. Now, go on over and make sure Crawford knows you’re there and on the job.” Hunter yanked a couple of tissues out of the box, swiped them over his forehead and then across the back of his neck, and tossed them in the trash.
Pierre left the office, his gun belt squeaking as he moved. He checked in with the desk so they knew where he was and what he was doing before heading out into the muggy summer day, with an almost blinding sun, to walk the block to the courthouse.
The old jail, which was now used as holding cells, had been built of red granite to resemble a Norman castle with two round towers and fake crenellated battlements on the roof. It was impressive and definitely added interest to the area.
Pierre stayed on the shady side of the street with his eyes open, passing other deputies, acknowledging each as he passed, but not stopping to talk. He was on a mission, and judging by the sheriff’s sweaty reaction, he needed to get there fast. Pierre entered the building, showed his badge and pass to his colleagues who were working the metal detectors and security, then walked inside and took the elevator to the upper floor.
When the doors slid open, he strode out and down the white hallway to the last courtroom and into the judge’s office.
“May I help you?” a man about two years younger than Pierre asked. Instantly Pierre was struck by how intense his eyes were and how the waves in his blond, collar-length hair damn near shimmered when he moved. Pierre’s mouth went dry for just a second, and he nearly stammered, but cleared his throat to cover it.
“I’m Deputy Ravelle. I was sent over to provide extra security for Judge Crawford.”
The pinch at the corner of the man’s mouth smoothed out, and he sighed. “Thank God.” The man turned toward the closed door to the judge’s chambers. “We’ve gotten three notes, and they were all sent to the courthouse.” He pulled open a drawer and slid the envelopes over. “I kept everything, including the envelopes, but they have been touched by me, as well as the judge. We didn’t realize what they were until we opened them. We get the occasional crackpot—he’s a judge, so this sort of thing can go along with the territory—but this feels different. These notes are specific, and there’s pointed hatred behind them. This isn’t someone who’s angry at the system, but specifically hates Judge Crawford.”
Pierre took the envelopes, and the man gasped and placed his hand over his mouth.
“Sorry, I’m a little scattered today. I’m Jordan Erichsohn, Judge Crawford’s paralegal and assistant. Sort of the one who tries to keep him organized.” He smiled. “The judge is with someone right now, but he should be done in a few minutes.”
“It’s no problem.” Pierre took a seat and looked over the letters. Just like Jordan had said, they were specific, with vivid descriptions of what the writer wanted to do to Judge Crawford and how he intended to get into his courtroom and rip him apart. They even went as far as to give the room number. They were clearly intended to incite fear, and it seemed to be working, judging by the reactions he’d witnessed.
Pierre knew Judge Crawford by reputation and as part of his professional capacity. Their interactions had always been within the course of his duties and they had never become friendly. Heck, half the time when working with him, Pierre did his job and it seemed Judge Crawford barely knew he existed. He wasn’t at all like Judge Fortier, who had the courtroom next door. Robert was a great guy.
The door to the judge’s chambers opened and Judge Crawford strode out, going directly to Jordan’s desk. They spoke softly, and Jordan inclined his head toward Pierre, who stood and stepped forward.
“He gave you the letters?” Judge Crawford was in his midfifties with white hair, a crisp suit, and patrician features. In short, he was the definition of distinguished, with intelligence lurking behind his dark eyes. “Excellent. You can see why I was concerned.” He motioned to his office, followed Pierre inside, and closed the door before taking a seat behind his large wooden desk. “I won’t be intimidated by anyone, but these letters were rather personal, so I decided to enlist some extra help. My bailiff and staff need to concentrate on their jobs, and I expect you to do yours. Watch, control access to the courtroom, and pay attention.” His gaze grew intense, and Pierre stared right back. He knew this tactic and wasn’t going to back down. Crawford might be a judge, but he was also a person, and one obviously used to getting his own way or forcing others to submit by sheer force of will.
“Do you have any specific enemies?” Pierre asked sternly. “I know a judge with your reputation isn’t going to be winning any popularity contests with those you sentenced, but does anyone come to mind?” He pulled out his notebook, waiting for an answer.
“I have a number of individuals who passed through my courtroom who have been released from prison in the last six months.” Crawford’s expression softened as he handed Pierre the list, which included the names, as well as the crime they were convicted for.
Pierre scanned the names and then pulled out the letters. “These don’t seem to fit. The individual who wrote these is angry, that’s definite, but he or she is very intelligent and articulate. These weren’t written by a street thug or a drug dealer… at least none of the ones I know. These were written by someone educated.” He handed the judge the papers. “The letters say that you should be eliminated and your cancer wiped from the earth. Most people don’t speak or write that way.”
For the first time, Judge Crawford smiled, slightly. “I agree. That’s why I haven’t done anything with that list.”
“I’ll have it checked out, of course, but I doubt our letter writer is here. Is there anything else you can tell me?”
“Not particularly. Your main task is to let me continue to do my job and to ensure I remain safe. I have private security arranged for my home and commute.”
Pierre nodded, and the judge gave him the information for the firm so Pierre could coordinate with them. He needed to try to find the source of the letters—which was going to be a difficult task, given how very little there was to go on—and to make sure Judge Crawford had the extra security he seemed to think he needed. The building itself was already secured, with all visitors and employees passing through metal detectors and all their bags X-rayed so nothing dangerous got inside. But if someone was intent on causing harm, they didn’t necessarily need a weapon.
“Please work with Jordan. He can give you any information and support you might need.” Judge Crawford turned to the clock on his desk. “I have to be in court in ten minutes.” Any additional information was going to have to come from Jordan, as Judge Crawford’s expression hardened and he turned to his computer. Pierre knew he was dismissed. He left the judge’s chambers and closed the door behind him.
“He’s a peach, isn’t he?” Jordan said in the same tone that he might use to ask about the weather.
The judge’s behavior was just a part of Jordan’s everyday work, it seemed. “Intense” was about the nicest thing Pierre could come up with.
“Judge Crawford isn’t a morning person, and he always needs some time to get ready for court.” Jordan stood and filled a mug from the coffeepot in the corner. He then carried it into the judge’s chambers and returned with an empty mug. “Sometimes I swear he mainlines the stuff.” Jordan rinsed the mug and took his seat once again. “I need to make sure he has everything he requires for his day, and then I can go over anything you want.” He hurried into the office, and Pierre watched him go with pointed interest.
Pierre sat back down. He reminded himself that he was working and had to keep his mind on the task at hand, not let it wander to the delicious paralegal who seemed to check all the boxes for the type of man he preferred: lanky, with great eyes, and a backside that bobbed perfectly with each step and made him feel disappointed when Jordan closed the door behind him.
Pierre took the opportunity to make a call to dispatch to report in and request information on the people the judge had identified. By the time he’d finished relaying the information, Jordan had returned and said it was time for court. He took Pierre to the front of the courtroom, and Pierre stood outside the door, watching as the lawyers and clients filed in, along with interested members of the public. He looked for anything unusual, including people who were more interested in the surroundings than the players in the case at hand. He saw nothing, but kept his eyes open as Judge Crawford called his court to order and started the business of the day.

"We're headed back to Yafenack"
When staunch oldworld traditions come head to head with the reality of ever evolving reality, there's bound to be those that refuse to conform and challenge change.

Yoram Smith met his true mate at the tender age of 8 years old. Of course he had no idea that was what he was feeling. All he knew was the man smelled amazing, he felt a pull to him and he would do anything to keep that man alive. As the boy becomes a man, his true mate, the one who's life he saved, continues to rebuff him. But Yoram refuses to give up on the man destined to be his love.

Salvatori Rossi didn't have the best upbringing. As soon as he was old enough, he got as far away from his family as possible and starting a lucrative business that still strives to this day. The problem is, he's yet to find anyone he wants to share his success with. When a boy begs his uncle to save Sal's life, everything he thinks he knows, he starts to question. And when that boy becomes a man and desperately needs Sal's help, surprisingly, Sal gives it.

This is one of the most well written and diversely characterized Shifter series you can read, in my humble opinion. With each new installment, more of the Shifter world reveals itself. The people, the laws and the stubborn, unyielding beliefs some of them refuse to let go of. I love the way CC weaves the different stories together. This book and the storyline ties directly into the other three books and perhaps gives details and information you were wanting from those books. But mostly, it's a love story about two men, both stubborn as hell, but also loyal to a fault.

Narrated by Charlie David, need I say more. I absolutely love this mans voice. The different tones and nuances he possess and how he brings the story to life for the reader/listener. Definitely a must read series and I would stress starting with book 1 if you haven't already had the pleasure.

Cardeno C. - CC to friends - is a hopeless romantic who wants to add a lot of happiness and a few "awwws" into a reader's day. Writing is a nice break from real life as a corporate type and volunteer work with gay rights organizations. Cardeno's stories range from sweet to intense, contemporary to paranormal, long to short, but they always include strong relationships and walks into the happily-ever-after sunset.

Heartwarming Stories. Strong Relationships. Forever Love.
