How To Hire A Vampire Consultant by Hollis Shiloh | Cat’s Review & #giveaway @thehollisshiloh @TTCBooksandmore

Steve isn't used to being the responsible party. He's not even a real agent at the Paranormal Research Agency—he's here on parole. But right now, a lot of the PRA's people are missing, and Steve and the librarian might be the only ones who can save them. While she researches like her life depends on it, Steve's running around mopping up monstrous messes.

He needs all the help he can get—even from a sassy vampire. Barnaby the vampire is kind of hot (for a twink), and not nearly as badass as he likes to think. Even if he did save Steve's life. Between the three of them, they might just have what it takes to save the day.

Steve is on parole and working at the Paranormal Research Center. All of the agents have disappeared leaving only Steve and the Librarian. Steve was left doing the legwork catching monsters and the librarian running the center trying to figure out how to find and rescue the others. On a mission gone wrong Steve runs into Johnson the vampire that is always picking on his partner Travis, they get together to see if he can consult on finding them.
I liked this story a lot but feel like it needed to be longer. I would love more information on the PRC, how he and Travis got together, and more on Travis since he is mentioned so much plus more back story on Barnaby. Having said that all in all, this is a very short, cute and humorous read. If you like Vampires, time-benders, other supernatural, with a touch of humor and like a short story this is for you.

Hollis Shiloh writes love stories about men, also called gay romance or m/m romance, with the preferred genres of contemporary, historical, and fantasy. Hollis's stories tend towards the sweet rather than the spicy. When not writing, the author enjoys reading, retro music, and being around animals.

Making eye contact with a killer wasn’t exactly how Bradley Danforth had planned to start his day. As an accountant, he craved structure and routine. What he hadn’t anticipated was being part of a real-life murder mystery with him cast in the starring role.

Death and sorrow were part of Max Donohue’s job description, leaving the detective hardened after years on the job. On his latest case, he’s the one stuck protecting the only witness in a sadistic homicide.

One death becomes two...then three. And soon Max and Bradley find themselves playing a deadly game of cat and mouse. Can Max save Bradley from the clutches of a serial killer? Or will the killer finish what he started?

At a Stranger’s Mercy is the first installment of a continuing series featuring the same two characters. It’s a suspenseful murder mystery that depicts detailed crimes, strong language, and adult situations. While this series will include a romance, it’s a slow burn that develops throughout the series.

Bradley had no idea how much worse is already bad day could be until he locked eyes with a stranger that sent shivers up his spine and he had no idea just how much this would change his life until he comes home that night and finds his neighbor has been murdered in a gruesome way and that he is the only witness.

He meets Max the lead detective that is hot but once he opens his mouth Bradley sees what a butthole Max really is. Though he didn't remember anything that night he is brutally attacked and left for dead, Max takes interest in the man.

Wow, Wow, Wow! This story is so awesome. It is well written, great characters and a spine-tingling mystery/suspense. There is a touch of violence though it is well handled and most are off-page. The relationship is slow-burn and in this book, Bradley and Max build more a protector /victim relationship with the touch of a slow-burning, budding relationship.

I loved Kenneth Obi's performance. He gave both Bradley and Max distinctive voices and the serial killer was scary, spine-tingling and chilling, especially the creepy laugh!
If you like good, chilling suspense, I highly recommend this.

Nine months ago, Rowan Ward thought he had it all. Now, he's fighting to pull his shredded life together, buried in work and battling the kind of grief that destroys a man's soul. When fires spring up around Cincinnati threatening Rowe's friends and clients, he's thrilled to find his old Army buddy, Noah Keegan in town. They were a hell of a team when they served together, so in-sync, it was rumored they could read each other's minds.
Noah thought devoting his life to the Army would be enough. Then he realized he had no family and only one friend he cared about. When his enlistment was up, he found himself standing on Rowe's doorstep, looking only for friendship but secretly hoping for more. He needs to know if their one unbelievable night together years ago wasn't a mistake.
Caught in a dangerous game of fire and bullets, neither expects the inferno of emotion that ignites between them. One Rowe isn't prepared to accept. One that could break Noah.
Unbreakable bonds.

Wow! Each of these books just gets better. I do suggest you read in order since you need to know who the major players are and what has been going on.

This book is about Rowe, the head of Ward security and the friend of Lucas, Snow, and Andre. In the last book, there was some tragedy and surprises leaving Rowe sad and broken. At a celebration of the opening of the Warehouse with Lucas, Snow, Ian and his friends there is a fire burning it down. This sets of the story with a series of fires putting all his friends back in danger and trying to figure out who is behind it and why. Getting home he finds an old friend from his past that brings up feelings long hidden.

I loved Noah but would have loved to have known more about him. I absolutely loved seeing this side of Rowe. I find seeing a softer side and this hidden secret really made him so deep.
There is a touch of wit in the story with banter between all the friends, you can feel the love and comradery as we watch relationships build. There are some twists and this one sort of ends in sort of cliffhanger or a lead-in to the next book. I can’t wait!

As usual, I loved Kenneth Obi’s narration. He always gives his characters life and more depth. He puts the right type of excitement at the right places, sighs, grunts, etc.

If you like suspense, hot men and an allover intriguing book, get this!

Jocelynn Drake... By day, Jocelynn Drake is a clean-cut financial editor, picking apart stories about Wall Street and the global markets. But in her free time, she writes about explosions, car chases, men in search of love, and underworlds where vampires and warlocks rule.

The author of Dark Days, Asylum Tales, and Unbreakable Bonds series, she lives in Florida with her husband, dog, and cat. When she's not working on her next book, she's usually hiding from the sun by playing video games.

Rinda Elliott... While all of my books are romantic and sexy, most lean toward erotic. For adult books that are just sexy, there are my Beri O'Dell books and if you're looking for sweeter, but still sexy, there's the young adult trilogy I wrote for Harlequin Teen. All of the others? Expect some heat because I love it. ;) I also love unusual stories and credit growing up in a family of curious life-lovers who moved all over the country. Books and movies full of fantasy, science fiction, and romance kept us amused, especially in some of the stranger places. For years, I tried to separate my darker side with my humorous and romantic one. I published short fiction, but things really started happening when I gave in and mixed it up. When not lost in fiction, I love making wine, collecting music, gaming and spending time with my husband and two children.

Strange things are happening all around Brinnswick. Things that remind me of a piece of my past I’d rather forget. Girls are being killed, drained of blood, and left with strange markings on their bodies. When I finally connect the cases together, a specialist is called in—though, what he’s a specialist of is beyond me.

When the chief assigns him as my new partner for the case, I can’t help but groan on the inside. Why of all people would I be assigned to Ailin Ellwood? The man is a disaster waiting to happen and a jerk to boot. A sexy jerk, but a jerk nonetheless.

What will Sebastian think when he discovers Ailin’s specialty? Will he make a run for it or will he stick around and discover a world of magic hidden beneath the city’s surface?

***The Enchanter’s Flame is the first book in the Ellwood Chronicles. It’s a paranormal romance that contains explicit material and is intended for mature adults 18 and over.***

I absolutely loved this book.

Ailen is a special consultant and put as Sebastian's partner when Sebastian puts some murders together. Things are strange between them and even stranger things happen and soon Sebastian finds out his partner is a witch...but not just any witch but the most powerful and head of his coven. He also finds out the world is full of things he never dreamed were real.

I loved both characters, but Ailen held a special place for me. I loved the way these two bantered, the story was a slow burn though you could see the connection, and there is lots of page-turning action.

Kenneth Obi gives this story a lot of life with great voices and lots of enthusiasm and sighs and growls. I highly recommend this story.

Michele is married to an awesome husband that puts up with her and all the characters in her head--and there are many. They live together in Baltimore, Maryland with their two young boys and two crazy dogs. She grew up dancing and swimming and taught dance--ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, & modern--for ten years before her kids came along. Now she stays home to write about the sexy men in her head and does PTA everything--as long as coffee is involved. Two other tattooed moms run the PTA with her, and though she wants to rip her hair out from it, she still loves it.

Warning 1: This is a series that needs to be read in order and this one ends in a cliffhanger
Warning 2: There is graphic sex and on page violence

I really enjoyed the first book Their Bounty and this one begins expounding on their relationship, gives us a lot more of Drake which I truly loved and lots of BDSM and sex.  LOTS of sex.  For me, the first nearly half was mostly sex and pretty slow, but then they go on a mission after some arguing about Clover going then the action picks up. There are many twists and turns, the action is page-turning leading us to a breathtaking cliffhanger. My heart clenched and I want the next book now, please!

If you don't mind violence, like lots of sex, BDSM, Assassins, MM reverse harem, MMMMM, Daddy Kink, Threesomes, shibari, action, twists and turns, and a cliffhanger then you will love this book! If you have not read book one go grab it while waiting for Book Three!

Endless Blue Seas by Annie Dyer Cover Reveal and #giveaway @EJBookPromos @WriterAnnie @TTCBooksandmore

Title: Endless Blue Seas
Author: Annie Dyer
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 29, 2019 Cover Design: Murphy Rae

The first time I saw Anya I was shirtless and holding an axe.
It was June, the weather balmy and Anya was beautiful, but that didn’t matter because I was drowning in my own grief.
Anya wasn’t meant to be my saviour.
I wasn’t meant to be hers.
A perfect summer, an idyllic island, a stream of stolen nights.
All bandaids on an open wound.
If we were going to live again, she deserved more than the fractured shards of the broken creature I’d become.
She deserved love.
Endless Blue Seas is a standalone summer romance, guaranteed to melt your heart and other items.

I’d had many moments in my life that had frozen into my memory: a night outside after a hot day with a group of friends, just laughing and joking, but it felt like a point in time when everything was perfect. There had been my graduation when me and Ryan and our families had just been at this point where everything was perfect then too and then there was now. We’d had weeks of sex and company and conversation.
And understanding.
A bolt fired through me, but rather than tear me apart, I saw stars. Ones that shone. Ones that I’d never imagined before. She made me see light when I thought there was none. She made me feel like life carried on and I wanted it to. I fucking wanted it to.
“Saying no more.” Janie sat back and sighed, watching the kids. There was something unspoilt, special that night. One I’d remember.

QUEEN OF THE SEA by Dylan Meconis Official Blog Tour, Author tens list and #giveaway @JeanBookNerd @dmeconis @TTCBooksandmore

Age Range: 10 - 14 years
Grade Level: 5 - 9
Hardcover: 400 pages
Publisher: Walker Books US (June 25, 2019)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 1536204986
ISBN-13: 978-1536204988

Praise for QUEEN OF THE SEA

The art, reminiscent of Raina Telgemeier’s style, creates levity during perilous situations. The book is dense with dialogue, often feeling more like a work of prose than a graphic novel. As a result, this complex work will be more accessible to those familiar with graphic novels…Certain to charm sophisticated graphic novel devotees. —School Library Journal (starred review)

Meconis offers an atmospheric alternate history inspired by the childhood and succession of Queen Elizabeth I in this quietly ambitious graphic novel…Art in soft, earthy colors brings this singular story to life in styles ranging from simple line drawings to elaborately styled text illuminations. The island world is richly developed, both in its physical particulars and its close-knit community (fascinating digressions into topics such as convent time, hand gestures used at table, and chess and embroidery flesh out daily life), and Margaret proves herself an endearing heroine with a strong voice full of humor and wonder. Her perspective transforms a storm-wracked rock into a vibrant world of hidden treasures. —Publishers Weekly (starred review)

Meconis’ humor and storytelling gifts here wed seamlessly with her evocative pen-and-ink and gouache illustrations, which are rendered in warm earth and sea tones and brim with movement, expressively capturing even Margaret’s interior monologues. With its compelling, complex characters and intrigue-laden plot, this will have readers hoping it’s only the first of many adventures for Meconis’ savvy heroine. —Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

“Weaving faith, love, statecraft, and self-discovery into a tale of palace intrigue relocated to the halls of a convent on a remote island at sea, Dylan Meconis uses the trappings of the history we know to create a high-stakes adventure in an alternate past that feels so detailed and so familiar, you’ll find yourself wondering why you never read about it in school. This beautiful book swept me away from the first page.” —Kate Milford, author of the Greenglass Houseseries

“Dylan Meconis is at the absolute top of her game. A gorgeously rendered, lovingly realized alternate history, full of personal revelations in the midst of political intrigue. A tale of growing up, and of understanding that the world is larger and stranger than it once seemed. (Plus it has a Terrible Recipe for Terrible Gruel.)” —Ben Hatke, author-illustrator of the Zita the Spacegirl series

“This is the book I was always trying to get my hands on in high school that never seemed to materialize. An adventure to lose yourself in, with an attention to historical detail to please the nerdiest among us. I fell easily and completely into this world and its characters, knowing I was safe in Dylan Meconis’s hands, and I’m really excited for more people to find out what I’ve known for a long time—that she is one of a kind.” —Kate Beaton, author-illustrator of Hark! A Vagrant

Cult graphic novelist Dylan Meconis offers a rich reimagining of history in this hybrid novel loosely based on the exile of Queen Elizabeth I by her sister, Queen Mary.

When her sister seizes the throne, Queen Eleanor of Albion is banished to a tiny island off the coast of her kingdom, where the nuns of the convent spend their days peacefully praying, sewing, and gardening. But the island is also home to Margaret, a mysterious young orphan girl whose life is upturned when the cold, regal stranger arrives. As Margaret grows closer to Eleanor, she grapples with the revelation of the island’s sinister true purpose as well as the truth of her own past. When Eleanor’s life is threatened, Margaret is faced with a perilous choice between helping Eleanor and protecting herself.

I’ve been writing and illustrating my own stories since the first grade, and I’ve been making comic books since middle school (no, really! Seventh grade was a tough year for me socially, so I had a lot of time to draw). I started my first book-length comic (graphic novel) in high school.

Unlike a lot of people who become professional artists and authors, I didn’t go to art school or a creative writing program in college. Instead, I mostly studied history, literature, philosophy, and French in the College of Letters at Wesleyan University. This means I have a brain full of weird facts, old books, strange art, and the extremely useful ability to read The Tales of Canterbury in the original Middle English. Except for the Middle English bit, it’s all come in very handy for writing and drawing historical fiction and fantasy.

I first started to get paid for making comics when I was still in college, when my first graphic novel was published online. After college, I worked as a graphic designer and visual communications consultant (which means “person who helps teach adults complicated stuff in cool new ways using pictures”). I’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, global charities, technology companies, libraries, and a lot of other interesting organizations. I’ve made illustrations, animations, information graphics and cool presentations, explaining everything from how microchips work to the ways that clean drinking water can help communities in the third world.

For the last ten years, though, I mostly work as a writer, comic book creator and illustrator! Sometimes I make books totally by myself, and sometimes I get to team up with other writers or artists. It can be lots of fun, but it can also be very hard work. Luckily, I never get tired of making new stories.
