"Teenage angst like you've never seen it before." —MTV.com

"I wish I could go back and read it again and again - not knowing what would happen." —MUGGLENET.com, the world's largest Harry Potter site.

Four beautiful girls. Quadruplets. They are not identical.

But each is named Claire.

Claire V is Clairvoyant—clear seeing with visions of the future.
Claire S is Clairsentient—clear feeling as she embraces another’s pain.
Claire A is Clairaudient—clear hearing to tap into the spirit world.
Claire C is Claircognizant—clear knowing with 100% accuracy.

Born in 1911, they first died together in 1928 at age seventeen. Two months later, they were reborn. And reborn. THE CLAIRES only live to seventeen and then they’re violently murdered. Somewhere in the world, a woman finds out she’s pregnant with quads. The Claires return to a new family as they try to break a curse that guarantees they die young.

It’s current-day Los Angeles, and once again, their seventeenth birthday is looming. Can they save themselves, clean up the streets in the name of penance, and crash their own prom?

The Claires is the first novel spin-off of the best-selling Ascenders Book Saga. Also available in paperback starting on January 14, 2020.

You can purchase The Claires: An Ascenders Novel at the following Retailers:

Tams gives this one 4.5 Stars...

What kind of person would you be if you were continually subjected to the same outcome, the same fate, over and over and over....

That is the nexus of this novel.

Let me tell you what I loved, which was almost everything. The Claires, referred to by their middle initial in the story thank god, are young and kind of brilliant, but also slightly jaded and dare I say, wicked. But if you'd spent the last century living your life until the age of seventeen and then just gone only to be reborn to go through it all over again, you'd probably be bitter as well. Then you have their.... brother(?) Cass, who gives an outside perspective of the four young women and their journey which not only shows them through a different set of eyes, it makes them marginally darker characters.

Here we go with the girls most recent reincarnation, and as their seventeenth birthday draws nearer, what won't they do to break the cycle, to stay alive?

Fast paced and well written, alternating not only the POV but the past and present, The Claires will have you on the edge of your seat teetering between, what the hell just happened? and, rooting for the villians! I think my favorite aspect of this story was how the Claires are a four leaf clover created as a group, sisters that are bound to this tormented fate, and yet, the Author gives each one of them their own individuality.

My only hiccup was some similarities between this story and an older series that I've read, loved and enjoyed. It pulled me out of the story a couple of times, but aside from that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

How can he win with the odds stacked against him?

Prince Hamish has no interest in fulfilling his duty of marrying. Not to a woman, at least. That doesn’t stop his mother, Queen Fiona, from presenting him with every eligible noblewoman that enters their castle. He’s certain it’ll be no different with the representative of the Udynea Empire.

So when they do arrive, Hamish is relieved the imperial prince, Darshan, is not the woman everyone expected. Until the man kisses him and Hamish is confronted by the very emotions he has been forced to conceal or be punished for. Emotions he is eager to explore.

But the kiss proves to be a little too public and leads his mother to take drastic measures to ensure Hamish adheres to her family vision. The contest of arms will force Hamish to make a choice: give up his happiness for convention’s sake or send the kingdom spiralling into civil war for the right to love his own way.

Darshan knocked back a few hearty swallows of his drink with barely the bat of an eye. The tankard slammed onto the counter, slopping more over the rim. “Alas, I think Daama might actually give me another of her clips over the ear if I tried to free her. She is a bit of a traditionalist.”

An odd expression took Darshan’s face. It was almost as if he spoke not of a slave, but of family, such as a cherished aunt or grandmother. Perhaps he did see her as such.

Hamish tapped on the handle of his tankard. His memories of his grandparents before the plague took them were dim, but he could imagine having a part of his family sent away without warning. The priests had done that when they’d cloistered his younger sister.

“I suppose there are also others who would react poorly to losing her,” Hamish murmured before drinking deeply. He peered at the ambassador out the corner of his eye, trying to gauge Darshan and finding the man favoured not reacting. “Children, maybe? It must be hard being so far away from your family.” The Udynean capital of Minamist was literally on the other side of the continent. He couldn’t imagine having such distance between him and home.

Darshan shook his head. “I have no children.” Chuckling, he scratched at the side of his nose with a thumb. “And what a bone of contention that is.”

“Your wife must be eager to remedy such an oversight.” Hamish knew without an ounce of doubt that he would already be a father if it wasn’t for the truth of what he’d have to do to turn that into a reality.

A weak, and slightly queasy, attempt at a smile stretched the man’s lips. He snatched up his tankard and mumbled into its depths, “Not married.”

“Oh?” The man was perhaps a little too pretty and foppish for Hamish’s tastes. And a little on the lean side, despite his protests at Nora pointing out the same thing at dinner last night.

“There is a very good reason for that.” Darshan set his mug on the counter and, giving a smirk, motioned him closer. “It is something of a secret.”

Intrigued, Hamish closed the already small distance between them. Amusement danced in the man’s eyes. Hazel. This close, the separate rings of brown and green in Darshan’s eyes were clear in the pub’s light, colours muddied only where they met and merged. That’s nae fair. Of course he would find the prettiest eyes belonging to a man he shouldn’t consider being alone with.

He also couldn’t help noticing the ring of black around the rim of Darshan’s eyes seemed slightly smudged in the inner corners, near where the glasses sat. Was it some sort of powder? The clans would sometimes plaster dyes and paints across their skin during war, but he had heard of men in foreign lands using such things in a more civil setting as fashion and tradition dictated.

The ambassador clapped a hand on Hamish’s shoulder, tearing his attention back into the present. “It goes a little something like this…” In one swift move, Darshan slid his fingers into Hamish’s hair and sealed their lips together.

There was no hesitation in the act, nor any forceful prying open of his mouth to invade with a tongue, just the bold press of his lips. There for a blissful moment then gone.

“Oh,” Hamish breathed. “I… er…” In all his years of fooling around, of rutting with strangers in the dark, he’d never met a man that forward.

Darshan returned to his drink, his face flushed by more than alcohol. His gaze slid back to Hamish as he drained the last of his drink. There was certainly something of an invitation lurking in that multi-coloured depth.

Excerpt:
The invitation was unexpected.  She naturally assumed that once morning came, he would be eager to leave and that her intense connection to him was one-sided.  “You want to take me to breakfast?” she asked, with a kinked brow and playful smile.
“Yeah.  Unless you’re sick of me already.”
“Of course not.”  She offered him a deep kiss, hoping to keep him interested.  “Stay here and relax. I need to jump in the shower. I won’t be long.  I promise.”
She tilted her face up into the hot spray of water and pushed her fingers through her wet hair.  She closed her eyes while her subconscious drifted off and replayed the previous evening with Nick in her head.  The rumble of the shower doors abruptly startled her back to reality, and Nick stepped inside to join her. She turned toward him and folded her arms in front of her body to shield the scars from her accident.
“Stop doing that.”  Nick took her arms and placed them around his waist and kissed her amidst the steamy water.
They lathered and washed each other, slowly, sliding the soapy water over the curves of each other’s body.  It was sensual, not sexual. His kiss penetrated her mouth, while the water pelted off her back and splashed onto him.  Her hand traveled over his sleek wet chest, and just when it was about to travel further downward, he removed it from his body and kissed the palm of her hand.  He stepped out of the shower, unfolded the large bath towel and held it open for her. She looked at him quizzically for a moment before exiting the shower.
He wrapped the bath sheet around the both of them and hugged her close to him.  She felt familiarity in his arms. Warmth and security. They stood on the plush bathmat with their naked bodies pressed against one another.  Nick held her in his arms without moving or making a sound for a long time, then he left her with a gentle kiss and the towel and strolled into the bedroom to dress.
Heather’s eyes followed his bare round butt cheeks as he walked away from her, and she realized that she was beginning to fall for him.  Her defense mechanism kicked in, and she reminded herself that she barely knew him . . . and he was young. She wondered how old he was, maybe 25.  He was probably only still here for sex. After yesterday, why else would he be here? But he just passed up a perfect opportunity in the shower. He was visibly aroused, and she was clearly receptive.  They could have easily had a third encounter, but he didn’t pursue it, and now they were going to breakfast.

A summer of Smoke and Sin by TJ Nichols Release blitz blog tour | Cat’s Release day Review @TobyJNichols @TTCBooksandmore @GayBookPromo

To stop a serial killer a detective will need to explore his own vices…

Nathanial Bayard wants nothing more than to find the nobleman creating snuff pornography. If he fails, his career in the recently formed nobility taskforce will be over and as the youngest son he’ll be forced to obey his father and join the church. But a life of celibacy doesn’t appeal. Nathanial has never even kissed another man, fearing for his soul and his reputation.

Jericho Fulbright has never lived a wholesome life. After behavior unbecoming he was discharged from the army and sent home in disgrace. His inventor and nouveau riche father refused to have anything to do with him, so Jericho turned to what he knew best: opium, gambling and sex.

As the owner of the Jericho Rose, a club for gentlemen who like men, he enjoys a certain notoriety. Some would say he has a golden tongue, but the truth is a succubus lives within him feeding on souls. Once he needed her help, now she is a burden that keeps him from getting close to anyone.

After the unfortunate death of a young noble man in Jericho’s bed, Nathanial is sent to investigate. He is scandalized and intrigued by Jericho, but soon realizes that Jericho could be exactly who he needs to help break the snuff case. Together they are drawn into a web of lies that will result in Jericho facing prison unless Nathanial can unmask the real creator of the snuff, a man with rank and privileges that reaches almost to the King.

For readers who love urban fantasy set in an alternate history, crime, scandal and a virgin hero.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 2 Purr heat index...

I absolutely loved this book. A Summer of Smoke and Sin was unique. A kind of a cross between historical, paranormal, with a light touch of steampunk. I don’t read a lot of steampunk, but I believed the mechanical cameras, mechanical bikes, and the mechanical birds gave it a hint of steampunk. I did love the birds.

This is an amazing mystery though we find out the killer it still holds your interest. (I sat up and read it all in one night, it was that god and I had to find out what was going on) There are some twists and its an allover good book.

If you are looking for something different, like steampunk, suspense, historical, low sexual content but high sexual tension, and a unique story this is for you!

Excerpt

“Are you out of your mind?” Jericho paced the dining room floor. He poured himself a brandy and drank it just as fast. He should’ve taken Nathanial to his study, where privacy could be assured, but after the death of Stephan and the way Eulalia had tried to take over last time Nathanial got close, he didn’t trust himself to be alone with Nathanial. “I am not going to some country party.”

He had nothing to wear for a start. His wardrobe was for evening events, not picnics. There would be picnics at some point, he was sure of it.

“It’s not a big thing, just dinner and dancing. A ball.”

That was worse. Polite conversation with puffed up men whose biggest source of pride was how much they’d inherited from their father, and women who knew how to assess a man’s funds and his character with a single glance. “I don’t dance.”

“I don’t believe you.”

Jericho smiled. Few ever said that to him. Most nodded their head and believed any lie he told. “Fine, I can dance.” The man he’d once been a companion to had liked to put on his gramophone and dance when his gout allowed it. He had been most thrilled about the idea of a place where men could associate more freely; he’d loved the club in its earlier incarnation. “But I don’t want to go. My life is here. I have a business to run in case you haven’t noticed.”

Nathanial had stayed well away from the smoking room this time, to Jericho’s relief. He didn’t want Nathanial to surrender what he held onto as dearly as a maid with good marriage prospects. He might be the youngest son, but Nathanial could still marry well.

“One night. We don’t even have to spend the night.” Nathanial held up one finger to reinforce the point. “Your father and step-mother will be there.”

Jericho rocked back onto his heels. He hadn’t seen his father in many years and even then, it had only been in passing. Jericho had been in uniform before leaving for Hong Kong and his father hadn’t recognized him. At the time, it had hurt. What kind of father doesn’t know his own son?

His father wouldn’t know him now. Only once a clever gossip realized there were two Mr. Fulbright’s in the room would his father look in his direction and then there would be a kerfuffle. “That is not a feature the changes my mind to the positive.”

“The killer will probably be there, too.”

Nathanial had lulled him into a polite conversation with an update on the case, so Jericho knew all about the photography club. Half the gentlemen in it had probably taken nude photos of their mistresses for their own viewing pleasure. Not everyone would stoop to buying porno pamphlets.

“You can’t be sure of that.”

“No. But wouldn’t it be grand if he was and we were able to identify him?”

While Jericho would be able to do that in a very short conversation—no one could bury that kind of darkness completely no matter how hard they tried—how did he explain that to Nathanial? And if it was another demon, what then? They both killed, but where Jericho kept it secret, that man made it public as though he reveled in it. Perhaps the demon had full control.

“And without evidence, how do you get a conviction? A scar will not matter in a court.”

“Search his house and estates. If we know who it is, we can close the net around him.”

Jericho had seen too many criminals slip away. Money bought a presumption of innocence. He ran his hand over Nathanial’s hair, then kissed his forehead. “For all that you were raised with the foxes you do not behave like them, so you fail to see them as the predators they are.”

Kiss his mouth, you fool. I can help him. Let me find the man he wants, Eulalia hissed. I can stop the murderer from killing again.

The desire to kiss Nathanial on the lips was part his own and part hers. Jericho pressed his lips together, but that didn’t stop the hunger. Eulalia was right. It would be better for the case if he passed her on, but that would mean corrupting Nathanial and he couldn’t do that. He doubted Nathanial would want a demon, and he’d want Jericho less if he knew about Eulalia and the price of keeping her fed.

** COVER REVEAL ** Tainted Tales, A Dark Folklore Anthology @GayBookPromo @TTCBooksandmore

A Dark Folklore Anthology for Save the Children

Some stories paint us sweet, told to children as they fall asleep.

Mother Earth she weaves the world with a whirl of her magic, and her kind embrace shapes us all. Father Time keeps us all, ever constant, ever moving onwards, for time never stands still.

Icy hands and a frozen touch, Jack Frost ushers in the cold snap, coating the earth with sparkly delights. If Jack brings cold, May Queen brings warmth, her delicate touch bringing forth the spring.

Follow the rainbow and maybe you’ll find, a Leprechaun with his lucky pot of gold.

The watchful eyes of Man in the Moon keeps all of the secrets of the night, shining down on us with his silvery light. The Sandman is here to soothe you to sleep, bringing all to slumber with a pinch of magic dust. Shhh, sleep now. Beware the Boogeyman lurking out of sight, waiting under your bed, to catch naughty children in the night. Be good little children, for Santa is watching, and he knows if you've been naughty or nice.

Tales of lore, fair music to our ears. Can you hear it? Did you know? Not every tale is sweet. The truth is darker, our stories more twisted, unlike the rhymes that children hear.

All proceeds will be donated to Save the Children.

This is a mixed M/F and M/M anthology that contains trigger warnings for its dark content. It is intended for a mature audience of 18+.

Available for Pre-Order on Amazon
