Cat’s Review of Just Jordan by J.T. Cheyanne @JTCheyanne @TTCBooksandmore

A lot can happen in twenty years. Things that change a person’s life for good and bad. Jordan Brooks and Trey Bright are all too familiar with change. Neither of them is thrilled about the upcoming twenty-year class reunion. Trey had escaped the tiny town of Avery, Wyoming with a scholarship to a Big Ten school. With his God-given talent and great coaches, he’d parlayed that into every little boy's dream, a career in the professional football league. His movie-star good looks and charismatic personality scored endorsements that made him richer than he had ever imagined. But, money and fame couldn't assuage the longing for the one dream that remained unattainable.Fate had not been as kind to Jordan. His plans for college and a career with NASA ended on an isolated country road miles from home and far from the love of his life. Pain and heartbreak stranded him in Avery, lonely and too ashamed to breach the distance and explain. Every day, he walked the halls of the high school endlessly forced to remember the boy he'd loved. When fate brings them together at the reunion, will Jordan come clean about his past? Can Trey forgive broken promises and find the courage to come out to his team and the football league? Does true love really stand the test of time? Jordan and Trey are on a collision course to find out.

I loved Just Jordan. It is a good second chance sports romance and a second chance is one of my favorite tropes. The characters are all good, there is some angst but not too much, there is plenty of conflicts, some secrets revealed that make you love Jordan just so much more and a twist at the end that makes you wish he was yours LOL. Just Jordan is a great story with lots of feels. so if you like second chances, good characters and family and friends, and an allover great romance plus if you like sports romance that's a plus but not necessary as the romance is first and foremost, this is for you. and please let Silas be getting a story soon!

It's me! J.T. Cheyanne. I live in beautiful Sweet Home Alabama. The skies truely are the bluest I've ever seen. The heat in summer steals your breath and we don't usually have a white Christmas, but it's a great place to hang your hat.

I started writing for roleplay in 2010 and moved on to writing my own original work shortly after due to the encouragement of my wonderful friends. Completing Ocean's Kiss and seeing it through to publication was a journey I will never forget. It taught me a lot about writing, about friendship and about personal accomplishment.

I'm currently working on several stories. I look forward to my next publication.

RELEASE BLITZ & #giveawa TAINTED TALES (A Dark Folklore anthology) @GayBookPromo @TTCBooksandmore

A Dark Folklore Anthology for Save the Children

Some stories paint us sweet, told to children as they fall asleep.

Mother Earth she weaves the world with a whirl of her magic, and her kind embrace shapes us all. Father Time keeps us all, ever constant, ever moving onwards, for time never stands still.

Icy hands and a frozen touch, Jack Frost ushers in the cold snap, coating the earth with sparkly delights. If Jack brings cold, May Queen brings warmth, her delicate touch bringing forth the spring.

Follow the rainbow and maybe you’ll find, a Leprechaun with his lucky pot of gold.

The watchful eyes of Man in the Moon keeps all of the secrets of the night, shining down on us with his silvery light. The Sandman is here to soothe you to sleep, bringing all to slumber with a pinch of magic dust. Shhh, sleep now. Beware the Boogeyman lurking out of sight, waiting under your bed, to catch naughty children in the night. Be good little children, for Santa is watching, and he knows if you've been naughty or nice.

Tales of lore, fair music to our ears. Can you hear it? Did you know? Not every tale is sweet. The truth is darker, our stories more twisted, unlike the rhymes that children hear.

All proceeds will be donated to Save the Children.

This is a mixed M/F and M/M anthology that contains trigger warnings for its dark content.

It is intended for a mature audience of 18+.

Cat’s Audio Review of Breakdown (Don’t…book 3) Written by Jack L. Pyke Narrated by Dan Calley @jackl_pyke @TTCBooksandmore

Breakdown
Don't..., Book 3
By: Jack L. Pyke
Narrated by: Dan Calley
Series: Don't..., Book 3
Length: 9 hrs and 50 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release date: 09-18-19
Language: English
Publisher: Jack L. Pyke
Whispersync for Voice-read

“Who’s been whispering to you, Jack?” (Doctor Halliday)

Jack Harrison has the evidence there in his hands - the DVD and notepad off D.C. Sanders that proves Gray supposedly played a part in tearing him and Jan brutally apart. But with Jack locked away in his own mind and lost to his blackouts and self-harming in the Masters’ Circle’s psychiatric unit, the past brings to light the origins of a new beast, one who only comes out to play when Jack needs to hide - a psychopath who has, perhaps, tasted and tested Gray to the full. All Jack has to do is remember how...and why. More to the point: Why does one part of him know Gray’s signature mark as an interrogations officer? And why is there such a serious sadistic kick in hiding the memory?

Cat gives this one 5 Meows Overall with a 4 Purr heat index...

This is the third book in the series and to me, I liked it the best so far. It still has violence and noncom or rape but not quite to the extent of the first two.  In this book, it is mostly about Jack and in his view while he is in Psychiatric evaluation. We get his back story from when he was a teen and learn more about Martin and how Jack met Gray and became a mastersub.

The narration is quite good. Dan Calley has the perfect accents and adds the perfect intonations when needed. I enjoyed listening to this book a lot. Now on to book four.

Jack blames her dark writing influences on living close to one of England's finest forests. Having grown-up hearing a history of kidnappings, murders, strange sightings, and sexual exploits her neck of the woods is renowned for, Jack takes that into her writing, having also learned that human coping strategies for intense situations can sometimes make the best of people have disastrously bad moments. Redeeming those flaws is a drive, and if that drive just happens to lead to sexual tension between two or more guys, Jack's the first to let nature take its course. Two of Jack's works, Don't... and Antidote (Don't... book 2) have picked up Honorable Mention Awards at the 2013 (Don't) and 2014 (Antidote) Rainbow Awards. Antidote was also a finalist (Rainbow Awards 2014).

“Us. We’re okay, aren’t we, mukka?” (Jack Harrison)

Video footage of Jack sleeping with Cutter, a man who mutilated teenagers for his own sadistic streak should have stayed dead and buried with the man who had filmed it. Yet when footage of Jack’s past starts appearing on internet porn sites, Jack’s whole world is again turned on its head. At first, the porn links are done to unsettle, to disrupt Jack’s fire-and-ice world: all the sexed-up adrenaline of being caught between the pleasure of Gray Raoul’s BDSM kink and the gentleness of Jan Richards’ vanilla touch. But when the content of the porn sites force even Gray to turn his back on Jack, leaving Jack isolated and away from the full protection of the Masters’ Circle, Jack is left at the mercy of a group of men who are out to alter Jack’s whole perception on his BDSM lifestyle and the reality of being Jack Harrison.

As brutally as possible, Jack’s sex life is now a live webcam feed for a whole new audience.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows Overall with a 3 Purr heat index...

This series is not for the faint at heart. If you dot like violence and Noncon... back away now. Also, you must read or listen to book One Don't first as this picks up after.

I am going to admit These books take me a little longer to get through than some.  It is not that they are not gripping or interesting it is just the content that is very rough.  I'll also admit this one is so harch I nearly quit a couple of times but decided to push through since I wanted to see where the series goes.  Now having said this... The story is great. The characters are intriguing, it is well written and keeps you on your toes, but you must pay close attention.  I think part of the problem for me was that there is a lot of memories or dream sequences and it was hard to make that known in the narration, so I got lost a couple of time.  I will say I chewed my nails to nubs and cried in this one a lot. Oh, and I forgot to mention the twists and the shocking ending.  my jaw still hurts from dropping to the floor.

The narration is perfect. Dan Calley has the perfect accent for these men and brings the story to life. he keeps you pulled in. Every time he says doesn’t, I cringe now.
If you like a dark romance, don’t mind violence and rape I think you will like this series. it is dark and twisted and oh so good.

Cat’s Review of Above and Beyond (Bronco’s Boys book 6) by Andrew Grey @andrewgreybooks @TTCBooksandmore

Sequel to Over and Back
Bronco's Boys: Book Six

When Salvatore Adruccio finished his time in the military, he moved on to a life of good friends, cold drinks, and hot men. His job as a bouncer at Broncos is fun and drama-free, at least until sexy but secretive server Elliot Hastings catches his eye.

On the run and in possession of evidence that could expose his stepfather for the dangerous and powerful criminal he is, Elliot doesn’t want to draw anyone else into his troubles. But when a thug catches up to him and Salvatore fends him off, he decides Elliot needs his help, even if he won’t admit it. Attraction quickly heats into passion, but Elliot is wary of commitment when he might have to drop everything and run at any moment. The only way they can be together in all the ways they want is to take out the threat posed by Elliot’s stepfather and his underworld ties.

And Salvatore intends to do just that.

Above and Beyond is another great story in this series. We have yet another strong, protective man and another younger smaller man (which is my favorite trope) yet Elliot is far from a weakling (though in the beginning, he is pretty scared and jittery though he has reasons.) Elliot is on the run from his evil stepfather and trouble finds him working in Broncos. Instead of running again the men talk him into confiding and letting them help. The story shows solidarity and friendship. It is sort of slow burn as the heat doesn't escalate till a little past the middle so it doesn't override the story. There is a lot of heart and feeling and I loved Sal's mom. We get to see most of the couples again which was fun too especially Spook since he was one of my favorites.
now I did have a couple of small issues. there were a few things mentioned that seemed disconnected from the book like Elliot's friend Traynor, even his mom and a friend that comes right in Sal's house (why did he have a key and they mentioned an outing that never happens?) Having said that I still enjoyed the story,
If you like ex-military/special ops men, age gap, big men-small men, protectors, slow-burn and an allover hot romance this is for you

Cat’s Review of Tuning The Guitarist (Seaside Bay Book 2) By J.S. Bright @TTCBooksandmore

Timothy
I can’t trust my past and relying on my future is no good either. Stopping in Seaside Bay is dangerous. I should move on, but I’m tired. Searching for food and a safe place to sleep consumes me until I land in Seaside Bay. The people here are too friendly. I should take off before someone finds out the truth. When I meet Mike, I know I can’t trust him, but he’s the safest person I’ve ever known.

Mike
My life turned upside down when I lost my hand, but moving to Seaside Bay might have saved me. From partying too hard to living the fast life, I was on a path to destruction. Seaside Bay has calmed me and convinced me I love the quiet life. Then Tim stumbles into my life, and everything gets upended. I’m lost without him close.

I’ll change everything for Tim. He’s got a load of heat on him, and I’m not sure I can save him once that heat comes down. Can I save Tim, or will his past consume him?

Buy Links: Amazon US | Amazon UK

Cat gives this one 4 Meows with a 3 Purr heat index...

Tim arrives in Seaside Bay, young and battered. Clementine a sweet (mysterious older lady tells him to go to the T-shirt shop that Mike won't mind him cleaning up there. He steals a shirt, but Mike nearly catches him. After sleeping in the alley behind the store the next morning Mike does find him but is nice, feeds him and lets him work off the shirt and food. Tim decides to stay with Mike while looking for his dad, but the trail just seems to disappear.
Mike has lost his hand in a freak accident and misses playing in the band. Having Tim around helps him forget and get over the loneliness. But of course, things can never be perfect.

I liked this story though it seems the Omega part is just brushed in as there isn't much of it until the end except for Mathew's part in the story. Some parts of the book seem unjointed and there is an episode with an ex that really doesn't seem to fit. But the main story of Timothy looking for his father and the romance between him and Mike, the friendships they form are all good. As in the first book, there is some repetition as well. Having said that, I enjoyed the story, liked the characters and look forward to more Seaside Bay. I think it gets better as they go!
