Edited by Lindy Ryan

Eight chilling tales to read under the Cold Moon.

A tinker’s son acquires a cursed soul.

A dying woman is haunted by her own reflection.

An uninvited presence haunts a Christmas seance.

A festive holiday turns macabre.

Despite the twinkling lights and steaming cocoa, the end of the year is the darkest time of the year—a season of short days, long nights, and cold skies. In this special anniversary anthology, the authors of Black Spot Books mix Ye Olde Yuletide hauntings with modern-day holiday horrors to weave a chilling new collection of dark winter tales. From frozen forests stalked by eerie Christmas ghosts to rotting gifts of winter malice, the spirits of Christmas come home for the holidays in the Dead of Winter.

Cat gives this 5 meows with a 3 purr heat index...

This book is out of my box, I'm normally not a fan of motorcycle club books. But, this one really isn't, so don't let the title fool you...I almost missed out on a good book. Also when I saw daddy I was thinking of kids...I am also not a big fan of age play but...again I am glad I got it since I love Sue Brown and I was not disappointed. So, If you have been wanting to dip your toes in age play (littles) this is a good one, to begin with because there is much more story and that falls into the background and actually adds a lot to the characters. I will say that was super well done. Joseph was hard to take character and this aspect of the book really gave him depth.

There is a lot of plot, twists, action and some good man-sex (just enough to add the romance and some daddy aspect to the story). This is  book three and I think you should read the first two books first. I hadn't and at first I was confused about a couple things and who everyone is.

If you like bodyguards, security companies, age-play, and some good twists this is for you (be sure to read the first two books first).

Excerpt:

The room went silent.

“Remember you’re a Holden. Never let another man tell you what to do.”

His father’s words rang in Joseph’s ears as they had done since he had sat an eight-year-old Joseph down in his study and told him that one day he would be the head of a great empire.

Yet he’d sat like a kid, his cheeks flaming, because some yeti off the mountains had ordered him to. He knew he’d made a huge mistake. He’d lost face in front of a room full of alpha men. He could see that in the smug expressions in the room. Now he’d have to work twice as hard to regain the power.

He was the client, the top dog in the room. Correction. He should have been the top dog. He was the billionaire; they were merely muscle. So why did he feel like a kid playing dress up in his father’s shoes?

I have been waiting for Jeremiah ever since I read Arresting Mason. Jim isn’t your usual, sweet, fluffy hero. He is opinioned and full of himself. I really liked him better in Mason because he was really a Butt in that one. This is a very well written, suspense, romance.

I liked Calista and I loved the actual story and all the twists. Once I started reading, I didn’t want to put it down. I hope someone else gets arrested soon LOL! (Maybe Alan?)

Cat's Review of Christmas Lane (Lighthouse Bay #1) by Amy Aislin @amy_aislin @TTCBooksandmore

It's recent college graduate Zach Greenfeld's favorite time of the year and he's just received a temporary gig planning Lighthouse Bay's Christmas parade. Not only does it speak to his penchant for organization, it also puts him face to face on a daily basis with his unrequited crush--Holland Stone. But his new job starts off in disaster when the most important float--Santa's sleigh--gets damaged.

Holland needs to win the Lighthouse Bay Christmas parade float competition in order to grow his new dollhouse-making business. The prize is an article in a major city newspaper, and nothing beats free advertising. Except, eager to help the adorable parade organizer, he volunteers to help fix Santa's sleigh, leaving no time to work on his own float, and putting his prize at risk.

Damaged floats, snowstorms, and a last-minute parade emergency force Zach and Holland closer than ever. All they need is a little bit of Christmas magic to help them realize they belong together.

Christmas Lane is a sweet, May/December, small-town Christmas romance with an HEA!

Cat gives this one 5 Meows...

I Loved, Loved, Loved this story. I’m not going to give a rundown as the blurb says it all and anything more would-be spoilers. There are so many fun characters. I loved both Zach and Holland. I felt like they belonged together from the start, BUT I love a huge age gap.

All of the characters add so much to this story and the setting is a character in itself. I wanted to see that parade and spend the day there!

This story is a perfect holiday story that could be read anytime and a beautiful age-gap. Cannot wait for the next one!

Ben and Erik are both new In Cape May NJ.
Ben is an ex undercover cop andPI. He decides to take up his Aunt to help run her real estate business for the summer, then he would decide if he wanted to stay.

Erik tired of traveling the world uncovering art fraud and relic theft bought a business sight unseen. Both men also were recovering from broken hearts.
So will two men with secrets be able to fall in love?

I loved this story! There was so much going on. There was action, two stories that combined into a third, ghosts and a love story.  The only issue I had was there was a lot of backstory and other characters bright in that made me think this wasn’t the first book or it was a spin off. But having said that  all that did was make me want the other stories and I’m very ready for book two!

I listened to this in audio and the narration was amazing. I loved all the distinct voices for each characters.  The story was brought to life. It was fabulous!

Cat's Review of Playing It Straight by Andrew McQuinn @AndrewMcQuinn @TTCBooksandmore

This is first and foremost a coming out story told in two parts. The Before and After. Playing it out Straight is the before.

It started with a thought. An innocent, miniscule notion, I never believed would turn into this.

For the last two years, Kyle McKinley has been living a lie and going along with the charade he believed would make his father proud. Kyle thought he could continue playing it out straight and hide his secret. Until his family moved across country from a small coastal Maine town to Santa Monica California.

Recently, Scotty Valentin gave up all hopes of finding a boyfriend and decided to focus on his career. He'd been taught love came with a price and that price was his loss of trust.

By chance Kyle and Scotty met. For Scotty, he didn't want to fall for the same trap he kept getting himself into, but there was something different about Kyle. For Kyle, he's too afraid to admit Scotty may be the man who had all the answers he's been both running from and searching for.

Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 2 Purr heat index...

Wow! This is the author's first book and of course my first time with this author and oh wow it won’t be the last. The book is so beautifully written, the characters compelling and the story very realistic.

Playing it Out Straight is a YA story of finding one’s sexuality, dealing with it, and coming out. Kyle and his family move to California because his dad wrote a book that has been made into a movie. He meets actor Scotty that confirms his feelings but now he has to come out to friends and family. He is afraid his dad will reject him, worse kick him out.

This is a beautiful story of what a person feels as they deal with their sexual identity and security of life.

I cannot wait for the next story!

If you like YA, coming out and a plain awesome romance this is fabulous.

Andrew McQuinn currently lives on an island off the coast of Maine. When he's not at his day job fighting off evil germs as a janitor, he can be seen out and about exploring Acadia National Park, or at home with his cat Marty. Playing it out Straight is his debut novel.

Wanted Dead or In Love Release tour with Cat's Review #@EJBookPromos @crzybookladyluv @TTCBooksandmore

Title: Wanted Dead or In Love
Series: The Cortell Brothers #3
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Small Town Romance
Release Date: January 11, 2021

Josh
I was just driving down the road one day when I saw her. That was when everything went to shit. Bullets were flying, I was killing guys with a toilet lid. It was insane. And the whole time, I had a scared, timid woman as an accomplice.

Or was she?

She knew exactly what she was doing. She knew exactly what to say. It seemed that I was the only one left in the dark about what was really going on. And I was about to pay for it, with my life.

Hannah
I'd seen that look before, that watchful gaze that sent shivers down my spine. I thought he was there to kill me, but then he got wrapped up in everything with me, and then I couldn't shake him. I couldn't tell him who I was. I could never let him go back to his life. He had to run with me or his whole family would be murdered. But you know what they say about secrets, they always come out eventually. And when he finds out mine, he's gonna be pissed.

This is book 3 in The Cortell Brothers series, and it is recommended they are read in order.

Cat gives this 5 meows...

This is book three of the Cortell brothers and needs to be read in order.

Josh is the brother of 7 Cortell boys that’s been missing for seven years. . One morning he just disappeared. Everything was in his apartment. His neighbors saw him several people in town spoke to him then boom he never returns.

Hannah Aka Carly has been on the run four years when she meets a man that stops to help her fix a flat. Nothing she says or does sends him away so he is dragged in her mess and on the  run. Josh has no idea what he got himself into.

These books just get better and better. Each one has a totally different story but lots of excitement. There are plenty of twists and turns and just when I thought this one was t going to bring tears I was wrong.

We also get to see the otheR brothers as well.  I highly recommend this series!
There is romance, tension, twists, and action galore.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.
