Being a police officer in a small town doesn’t often offer up many surprises. Working the night shift means I rarely see or do much of anything that doesn’t involve a speeding vehicle, or a drunken rant. And, while quiet nights are better than deadly ones, it still takes some getting used to after living in a big city for years.
So, I’m rather shocked when I pull over a driver and find the dirtiest audiobook playing from the car speakers. And, paint me intrigued when the hot driver struggles to get the enticing words to stop broadcasting to the entire street.
The embarrassing encounter has us both lowering our guard, and I find myself a new friend, one who suggests we start our own audiobook club.
Soon, we become more than just friends as we listen and fall into stories and new worlds together and, naturally, the sexy scenes we’re listening to become a blueprint for our own experiences to try … together.
But, when life intrudes and our audiobook club breaks up, I’m left wondering if everything was just fiction, or if maybe there is something real under it all.
Can we get our happily ever after, or will it all fizzle out before it has a chance to become something permanent?

I love this author and it’s been a while since I read one of her books, so I was excited.
I expected it to be good but I was blown away; I read it all in one setting it was that good.
Ethan is a 31 year old gay black man that came back from New York about three months ago to be with his grandmother that raised him that is diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s. He works the graveyard shift and one night pulls over a speeder.
He is shocked at what the man is listening to and learns it’s a MM erotic romance.
Russel is a chef and making himself a new home in Smithtown. He got the job at a local pub and bought his first house. He was mortified when he got pulled over and his radio wouldn’t shut off.
I could go on and on but no spoilers. I loved all the characters especially Ethan’s Gran. She was a hoot. There is a bit of drama in the book with a homophobic and racist chief and other officers. There is homophobia, violence, racism, bullying if that is a trigger for you, you may want to skip but it’s well written. There’s also quite a bit of sex also well written.
I’d love to know about some of these audiobooks and whether or not they are real so I can listen! I loved the three epilogues, it was like three little short stories so if you usually skip epilogues I suggest you read these.
I highly recommend this if you're looking for a story with lots of feels and some great entertainment and a sweet romance with some heat.

I loved all the characters. Both main characters are charming and sweet. I loved the plot, I loved the cakes lol. I want the recipes.
This is also the perfect Valentine’s read!

She hands me an order slip.
“Is Adrian here?” I ask as I read the order. He puts up with me calling him Addy, but to everyone else, he’s Adrian, and I respect that.
“Yes.” She picks up the order I’ve just finished preparing, but instead of turning around and going to serve it, she stares at me.
“What?”
“You knew Adrian was here based on his order?”
“He always asks for the same thing—a cheese and tomato toastie. No cucumber, extra radish. I bet he asked for peppermint tea.”
“You’re so cute.”
“What? Why?”
“You just are, that’s all.” She smiles at me and then leaves the kitchen with an extra spring in her step.
I’m left metaphorically scratching my head. I can’t do it because I’m preparing food. What on earth was that about? I shrug and get Addy’s order ready, then take it out to him. He’s wearing his work clothes—heavy-duty combat trousers, boots with steel toecaps, and a fluorescent vest over a thick woollen jumper. He has to wear a hard hat when he’s working up high, which has left his brown hair mussed up. He’s starting to go grey at the temples. Although the hair on his head doesn’t have any warm tones in it, his beard and moustache are streaked with auburn.
“You didn’t say you’d be popping in today,” I say as I put his food in front of him.
“I finished a job early, so figured I’d come to say hi before I have to be at the next job. Plus, where else am I going to get a mountain of radish with my lunch?”
I laugh. “I don’t know how you can eat that stuff.”
He picks up a thin slice of radish with his thick fingers and pops it into his mouth. “It’s delicious. You’re busy today.”
“Lunch rush. It’ll get quieter in about an hour. Then we’ll get the afternoon tea rush around three.”
“Make sure you take a break.”
“Yes, boss.”
I’ve made a joke of it, but I do appreciate his concern. We’ve been looking out for each other for twenty years now.
Even when we went our separate ways to university, we used phone and email to keep in touch and support each other. Addy did a degree in arboriculture near Preston, whereas I went to culinary school in London. I loved every minute of my course, but those three years were lonely. As kids, we’d popped over to each other’s houses to hang out, but that was impossible to do while living almost two hundred and fifty miles apart. I liked this story. It was sweet with the insta-love had some suspense, lots of angst, plenty of romance, which I love.
One MC is a closeted military man that’s a virgin. The other a playboy that falls in love at first sight with his brother’s best friend. How sweet is that? I adore a good redemption story and here we have that. I also love coming out and first times again we have that.
My only issue with this story is there is loads of sex. Not only physical but in thoughts so for me it was over the top on sex. In my opinion half or more of the sex could have been removed and made the story more forefront.

Each book in the Witchbane series featured Seth and Evan trying to take down twelve powerful witch disciples. The books stand on their own but you would understand everything much better if you read in order. There are also loads of characters from spin-off series and crossovers that make it more intriguing. The plots are complicated and mail biting. I highly recommend this series, it is hands down one of my favorites.

The charcoal Ford truck chasing them never slowed, rumbling past the bar too fast for Seth to get a good look, and then it was gone, swallowed by the night.
He faced the motorcycle toward the road, sheltered between a beat-up green F-150 and a red Silverado with a gun rack in the back window. Seth felt sure that he and Evan would be no more welcome inside than they’d been with the guys who chased them, so when their attackers didn’t return, Seth hit the gas and headed back the way they came.
His heart didn’t stop pounding until he slowed at the entrance to the campground where they had parked their RV. While it wasn’t late, Seth was hyper-aware of the rumble of the motorcycle’s engine, not wanting to draw attention. When they pulled up in front of their site, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Doesn’t look like anyone’s been here,” he said to Evan as he climbed off the bike and secured it. His body still hummed with adrenaline, and Seth scanned the area for danger as Evan followed him to the RV’s door.
Locks and security alarm aside, the fifth-wheeler and black pickup that towed it were also protected by magical wardings, courtesy of friends with supernatural abilities. The protections recognized Seth and Evan but were designed to keep out intruders.
Seth turned on the lights and gasped when he saw the blood on Evan’s jacket and realized his boyfriend was leaning heavily against the wall.
“You’re hit.” Seth helped Evan to sit at the table and went to fetch their medic kit.
Morgan Brice is the romance pen name of bestselling author Gail Z. Martin.
