Fast cars. Outlaw country boys. A love that can’t be denied. Snarky werewolves, vengeful ghosts and menacing monsters.

Fast cars. Outlaw country boys. Snarky werewolves, vengeful ghosts, and menacing monsters.

Dawson King’s family has been hunting things that go bump in the night in Transylvania County, North Carolina, since before the Revolutionary War.

Dawson was never happier than when he was racing his souped-up Mustang along winding mountain roads and hunting monsters with his best friend, Grady. Then Grady fell in love with him, which should have been perfect since Dawson had already fallen hard for Grady.

But Grady was only seventeen, and Dawson feared that sooner or later, Grady would realize his feelings were just a first crush, and then he’d be gone, leaving Dawson devastated. They both needed space to figure things out. So Dawson joined the army, while Grady stayed on the mountain.

Four years later, Dawson is coming home. He’s more sure than ever Grady is his forever love, and they’ve both agreed to begin this new aspect of their relationship as soon as Dawson gets back.

Then Grady’s father is killed in a werewolf hunt gone wrong. Grady is devastated, and he’s throwing mixed signals about moving forward. Dawson knows he needs to hold off on this new thing between them until Grady has time to grieve. But monsters never sleep, and one hunt after another throws Dawson and Grady into constant danger, while tension and unresolved feelings ripple between them.

Making it even harder, Dawson’s got a secret. He’s dreamed of death omens—which point to something stalking Grady. Can Dawson figure out who’s trying to kill Grady, save his life, and win back his heart?

Plenty of mutual pining, hurt/comfort, spooky chills, sexy thrills, and a very happy ending. The Kings of the Mountain is the first novel in the series. It is a MM romance intended for readers 18 years of age and older.

Cat  gives this book 4 Meows with a 2 purr heat index...

Dawson King is from a long line of monster hunters the Kings basically own the mountain. They do the hunts pro bono and have other business that make money like Dawson and Grady have the mechanic business, Knox, Grady’s brothers runs their grandfather's hardware business etc.

Dawson has been away in the military for 4 years because he and his younger cousin Grady have tiptoed around a strong mutual attraction but Grady being two years younger Dawson felt Grady needed to experience life and make sure what he wanted (Grady and Dawson are not blood cousins, Grady’s dad was adopted by Dawson’s grandfather).

I loved all of the characters, even Denny, Dawson’s uncle. There are lots of hints so you get lots of action, some quite harrowing and keeping you on edge of your seat. So, the plots and hunts parts were great. My only issue was the story bounces around some from years like back 4 years, 2 years, 4 years then 1 year and in each viewpoint. That wasn’t bad and told about each other’s past and feelings, but it just popped me out of the story.

I did like the slow burn of the romance and the HEA. I am looking forward to more in this series.

Excerpt from Kings of the Mountain

The longer they spent time on the road and on hunts together, the more Dawson felt a powerful attraction to Grady. He’d always been fond of the younger man, but Dawson found himself admiring the person Grady was growing into. Grady deserved to find the right guy—if that’s what he wanted—who could make him happy. And as much as Dawson wished fervently that could be him, he knew he couldn’t take the chance that Grady might feel pressured or obligated to respond if Dawson made any advances.

Not to mention how Grady’s mother had always carried on about how awful it was to marry a “cousin,” something that she claimed no one in her family had ever done. She’d made her position loud and clear while she was married to Aaron, which had not endeared her to the rest of the community. Such marriages were legal in North Carolina, and not uncommon in the rural areas.

The fact that Grady wasn’t a cousin by blood probably wouldn’t matter to Camille. But what if Grady had accepted his mother’s bias? Maybe Dawson had imagined the flirtation, or worse, projected his own feelings onto the other man. So Dawson took the edge off with hookups and out-of-town one-night stands, very aware that he tended to choose partners with a resemblance to Grady.

Until he couldn’t stand it any longer.

That’s when Dawson enlisted.

Once they were on the main highway, Dawson turned to watch Colt’s profile.

“So…what happened with Uncle Denny and Grady?”

Colt’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, and the tic in his jaw told Dawson that the other man didn’t want to have this conversation. “They’re both alive. But a hunt went wrong a week ago, and Grady isn’t dealing with it very well.”

A week, Dawson thought. That was when he’d stopped getting emails from Grady. He had tried to convince himself the silence was due to any number of impersonal reasons, but Dawson knew in his gut something wasn’t right. His responses from Uncle Denny had gotten short and less frequent around the same time.

Was this what his nightmare had been warning him about?

“Could you be a little clearer?” Dawson knew Colt could read the warning in his tone.

“Grady got hurt. Aaron was killed. Grady’s not dealing well with it. Uncle Denny didn’t want to leave Grady alone. So they sent me.”

Dawson’s head swam. Uncle Aaron, dead? That’s hard to even imagine. He was always so full of life. And Grady—it’s got to be bad if he couldn’t come. Oh, God. I almost lost him. Plus there’s something Colt isn’t saying, something even worse. Because if Uncle Aaron died on a hunt, then Grady had to have been right there when it happened. That’s bad, really bad. No one should see their parent die, especially not like that.

Ex-quarterback Davis Abernathy knows he’s on his last chance.

If he strikes out as Paxton Kelly’s coach, nobody else is going to call him. Not to get back on the field, and not to stand on the sidelines.

He’s got a lot to teach Pax, and as a second-year quarterback, Pax has a lot to learn. But Davis doesn’t anticipate the irresistible way they’ll be drawn together from their first meeting. He never could have predicted such a fierce and uncontrollable yearning—or that Pax would feel the same.

It should be easy to remember rules aren’t meant to be broken, and certain lines aren’t meant to be crossed, but the only thing that’s easy is falling totally, completely in love with Pax.

As Davis falls harder, Pax succeeding becomes just as important—and maybe more so—than resurrecting his own career. If he messes this up, his last chance isn’t all he’ll be sacrificing.

What he should be is focused on being the perfect mentor. But what he wants is Pax in his bed, Pax in his life, and more impossibly, to win Pax’s heart forever.

And coming soon, Book 4, here's a little snippet to wet your whistle.

Nuclear Option: An OPS Protector Romance (Owens Protective Services Book 2) by Giulia Lagomarsino Book tour with Cat's Review @EJBookPromo @crzybookladyluv @TTCBooksandmore

Title: Nuclear Option: An OPS Protector Romance Novel
Series: Owens Protective Services Book 2
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Protector Romance
Release Date: September 26, 2022

★★★★★ Star Goodreads Review - “Talk about a book that keeps you on your toes.”

★★★★★ Star Goodreads Review - “What a great story, absolutely loved it!”

★★★★★ Star Goodreads Review - “Giulia Lagomarsino has never disappointed me. Outstanding.”

The exciting and thrilling conclusion to Cash and Eva’s story, and the second book in the OPS series!

The military defines a Nuclear Option as a drastic step or last resort, and I’m about to take it.

Cash
I am an expert marksman, engaging the enemy from afar.
You’ll never see me coming, because I’m that good.
Even a sniper can be drawn out of hiding.
Pull the right strings and eventually you’ll see my face.

But it’ll be the last thing you ever do.

I take warnings for what they actually are—a threat of war.
I will defend those I love and the team I surround myself with.
I will use my specialized training to take you down.
I will make you regret ever coming after me.

There is no world in which I exist that I’ll let you live.

Special Ops training gave me the tools I needed to be an effective weapon in special recon, infiltration, and target acquisition—to name a few.
I’m ruthless, fearless, and I will stop you at all costs.
Power won’t help you when you come up against me.
Intimidation is laughable.
And threatening the woman I love is the worst mistake you ever made.

Cat gives this book 5 Meows with a 3 purr heat index...

This is a continuation of the first book, so you must read in order. The story picks up where the last left off with a bad car wreck.

I did llke this story better than the first even though we still get a lot of new names and characters. There is more humor and the action is nonstop. There are two plots.. a terrorist and the baddies after Eva, plus the romance.

If you like lots of hot ex military, sexy techies, car chases, things that go boom and lots more you will like this. I’m ready for book three.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Cat's Review of Where You Are by Felice Stevens @EJBookPromos @FeliceStevens1 @TTCBookjsandmore

Former model and B-list actor (B meaning really bad) Isaac Seidel is now a NYC firefighter on special assignment in the one-horse town of Serenity, Pa. But all work and no play makes Isaac a dull boy, and when he hooks up with the most explosive one-night stand he’s ever had, it looks like country life might not be so boring after all.

Especially when the guy he thought he’d never see again turns out to be one of the volunteer firefighters he’s expected to train.

Levi Everett is a master at pleasing everyone—except himself. He’s spent his whole life hiding who he is and what he wants. It’s a lot more complicated now that he’s going to be seeing gorgeous Isaac Seidel every day. How is he supposed to pretend he’s straight when he and Isaac can’t keep their hands off each other?

Isaac has made it clear he’s only interested in friends with benefits, so when he returns home to NYC, Levi knows he’s gone forever.

Until he isn’t.

Trust doesn’t come easily to Isaac—he’s been hurt and used before. But Isaac is unable to forget the man he left behind, and in a shocking move, he makes Levi an offer that could change their lives forever. Now it’s up to Levi to put himself first, risking the love of his family, to go after his dreams—dreams that were unimaginable before Isaac but are now within his reach.

Because love is wherever Isaac is, and it’s the only place Levi wants to be.

Where You Are is a sweet and steamy, age-gap MM romance featuring two smoking hot firefighters who can't seem to keep their hands off each other or their clothes on whenever they're together. It's filled with found family, first time love, a swoony happily ever after, a well-meaning but nosy mother, and plenty of good old country fried chicken.

Cat gives this book 4 Meows with 3 purrs...

Issac is an ex-actor and model that now works for the FDNY and is going to a small town to train volunteer firefighters.

Levi has been hiding all his life and decides to try to be himself. He meets Issac not knowing he is the hot shot trainer.

I loved the characters, but I think I loved Levi’s inner conflict the most. I also liked that Issac had his own inner conflict. There are a few suspenseful moments and the relationship is smoking hot!

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy, and that includes love.
She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe yet can't stop buying "just one more pair" of black pants. Felice is a happily addicted Bravo and Say Yes to the Dress addict and proud of it. And let's not get started on House Hunters. Her dream day starts out with iced coffee and ends with Prosecco, because...why shouldn't it? You can find her procrastinating on FB in her reader group, Felice's Breakfast Club.
