He was hired to end Bryce’s life… not crave his touch.

Blurb

Alex is a hitman with ice in his veins and a job that never allows for second thoughts. His latest target: Bryce Phillips, a small-town mechanic whose easy smile, generous spirit, and striking good looks captivate Alex from the first time he sees him. But orders are orders, and Alex never lets feelings get in the way—until now. When an unexpected encounter brings Alex face-to-face with Bryce, the line between hunter and protector blurs. Drawn to Bryce, Alex finds himself with an impossible choice, forcing him to make a split-second decision that will change both their lives forever. In a world where trust is deadly and every moment counts, can two men on opposite sides of a contract find a way to survive—and maybe even something more?

Excerpt

“Alex drummed his fingers on the steering wheel as he watched his mark. He longed to leave Lawrence, Kansas, but he couldn’t yet. He still had work to do. It should be a job like any other, but Alex struggled to keep it professional. It didn’t help that the job wasn’t typical, nor was the target.

He’d been hired to eliminate the mechanic whose shop he was watching, but Alex found that instead of plotting the man’s “accident,” he was contemplating his smile.

Bryce Phillips’s lips looked softer than any man had a right to have. They were ideally shaped, which worked well with the rest of his symmetrically perfect face. He had stunning hazelnut eyes, a light complexion, and walnut-colored hair.

He was a breathtakingly handsome man until he smiled. Then he was radiant.

Alex shifted uncomfortably in his seat. He was usually a focused man. It was what made him so good at his job. He’d killed before in his line of work and had done it unhesitatingly.

Yet something about Bryce Phillips was different. Alex didn’t know whether to be angry or intrigued. His fascination with the other man was threatening the job. Malcom Craven hadn’t hired him to moon over Bryce Phillips. He’d hired Alex to kill him before Bryce could testify against him.

It wasn’t Alex’s typical job. He was usually more selective. Most of Alex’s targets were guilty of something. The only thing Bryce Phillips seemed guilty of was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Alex had spent some time watching Bryce. He appeared to be a stand-up guy who owned and operated a small mechanic shop, always greeting his customers with a smile. Once a week, he met up with the guys for beers and a game, and as often as not, the drinks were on him.

Bryce helped his neighbors with handyman jobs, had done at least one volunteer shift at the food pantry, and had a quick pet for every dog he met. He was a tactile man whose kind nature was exhibited in the encouraging pat on the shoulder for friends and family.

Alex had been intrigued since the moment he saw Bryce open his shop early for a customer. Alex had later learned she was a single mom with two kids who didn’t have time to bring the car in during regular business hours.

Bryce was social but didn’t seem to be dating anyone exclusively. However, it was easy for him to win a woman over with a smile. Alex had watched on at least three occasions as Bryce had been given numbers, though he hadn’t seemed to follow up on them.

His older brother, Clay, was the most pivotal person in his life. It wasn’t unusual to see the two meet up for lunch. They were a disparate pair. When Bryce wasn’t wearing his work overalls, he wore T-shirts with flannels and jeans. Clay was always in a suit, which made sense, since he was a lawyer.

In the week Alex had been watching Bryce, he’d learned a lot about the man, from the beer he drank to his favorite music. Oddly, Alex could have continued to surveil him even if he wasn’t getting paid. Bryce was a good man, and there hadn’t been many of those in Alex’s life.

Yet Alex had a job to do. Whether this was his standard case or not, he’d agreed to this per Luke’s request. Alex’s eldest brother didn’t make many requests of Alex. Nor did he understand Alex’s “pickiness” when it came to work, but nevertheless indulged it. This time, though, none of Alex’s other, less discriminating family members were available for the rush job, and Luke wouldn’t wait. Alex couldn’t say no to family, could he?

Alex gripped the steering wheel tighter. The man’s habits and Alex’s preferences didn’t matter. He was a professional, and he had a job to do. He would do it despite Bryce’s character and how attractive he was. If only it were that simple, especially when Alex couldn’t help but note Bryce’s smooth jawline and tight shirts.

Alex sat in his car, half hard, watching Bryce, and his mind wandered. He couldn’t help wondering how the mechanic’s lips tasted.”

I've been waiting on Thad's story and wasn't disappointed.

I love that Thad isn't... how do I put it... perfect. He has a big history, is an ex-con and you do need to read this series in order for best understanding but at least his brother Gavin's book for sure.

I love how he is trying to rebuild a life but still makes a few not-so-great choices. I love a flawed MC. I also like Graham and love a gay for you or bi awakening. I liked how he just didn't suddenly say... oops I s I have a thing for Thad now I'm gay. I like how he fought it. Just feels more real.

Now grab the book and see if and how they get together and the road to it because there are several big pitfalls...like Graham's mother.

When my brother jets off on a last-minute holiday, leaving me to run our business, my plan to avoid Christmas is left in tatters.

The bright side? Is there one? I don’t really do bright sides.

Making use of my brother’s flashy car and his driver, Rowan, is a plus. Sort of. Upbeat personalities aren’t my thing. Despite that, Rowan’s optimism is better than any chisel, chipping away at my stern exterior.

Getting stranded in a snowstorm wasn’t on my itinerary, but here we are, cold and all alone, with no sign of being rescued.

I couldn’t leave Rowan to freeze, could I? As we try to stay warm, I discover something about Rowan which makes me realise we have more in common than I expected.

I’m technically his boss…

…but that doesn’t matter tonight.

Not when working together to raise the temperature in the car has the potential to be so much fun.

But when the storm clears, will I still want to be Rowan’s Daddy?

A Daddy for Christmas 3 is a multi-author series. Holiday tales of boys in need of Daddy’s love and in some cases, a firm hand. Naughty or nice, it’s all in Santa’s hands now. So why not dive in and read each standalone and enjoy the holidays alongside our boys.

This is a sweet, short, fast paced, insta love holiday story.  If you're familiar with Collette Davidson stories you will recognize a few characters from Kinky house mate series. The book does stand alone perfectly and ends with a HEA.

If you like snowed in, forced proximity, Scrooge, a mild kink, boss/employee, and lots of heat, this is for you.

Excerpt

“Look lively. Grumpy boss is on the prowl,” Rubin says.

I stand tall and stare in the direction towards Nigel’s office. Damon is standing in the doorway, flicking his gaze around the room. He is so dreamy. Tall, dark hair, a stern expression, and fuck, does he look good in a suit. I don’t know how old he is, but I’d guess he’s in his mid-thirties. If I’m right, he’s around six or seven years older than me, which is perfect. Or it would be, if he weren’t one of my bosses. He’s overdressed compared to everyone else here, but I appreciate the cut of his navy, single-breasted jacket, and his royal blue tie.

I’m overdressed, too. As Nigel’s driver, I need to look as smart as his cars. My official uniform is a charcoal-grey suit and a white shirt, which I jazz up with my choice of ties. Today’s is green with tiny candy canes all over it.

Damon’s piercing stare falls on me. His irises are dark blue, although from this distance his eyes look like shining lumps of coal. “Rowan. Do you have a minute?” He returns to his office without waiting for an answer.

“I will always have a minute for you, handsome,” I mutter under my breath.

“Careful not to trip over your hard-on on the way to his office,” Rubin says.

I flip him my finger. “I do not have a hard-on.”

“Yet.”

“I’m professional.”

“Oh, yeah. So professional, you’re drooling right now.”

“Am not.”

“Are too.”

I roll my eyes and make my way across the vast, yet cluttered space to the office.

I knock before entering. “You needed me?”

Damon is staring at the monitor, a vein pulsing in his temple and another throbbing in his neck. Is he stressed about something? Probably the fact that he’s here, rather than taking time off, like he should be. But if he’s here, where is Nigel?

He gives me an apologetic look. “I need a favour and you’re the only one I can spare.”

Which means he doesn’t need me to drive him anywhere. That’s a shame.

“I need you to pick up my costume for the charity ball tomorrow night.” He pushes a Post-It Note across the desk with an address on it. “It’s a bit of a trek, I’m afraid.”

“I don’t mind.” I scoop up the Post-It Note and scan the address. Yeah, he wasn’t kidding when he said it was a trek. “Wait. I thought Nigel was going to the charity ball.”

Damon sighs. “Nigel’s not here.” His words are clipped and stern. “Fuck, how am I going to get there? It’s in the middle of nowhere.”

I clear my throat, drawing his attention back to me. I smile brightly and wave my hand. “Your driver’s standing right in front of you.”

“It’s in the middle of nowhere. At night.”

I widen my smile. “It’s my job. You do know that because it’s in the middle of nowhere, Nigel booked two rooms for the night, don’t you?”

He stares at me. I guess he didn’t know.

“Aren’t I lucky that he doesn’t expect me to sleep in the car?” Although I could easily. “I think he was planning on taking the Rolls-Royce. Is that all right with you?” It’s a beautiful car, with a stunning interior ceiling.

“This is why we need a PA,” he grates out.

“Nah, this is why you’ve got me. If it’s anything to do with getting from A to B, I know what the plan is.” I wave the Post-It Note. “One costume coming up.”

He half-smiles. “Thanks, Rowan.”

“You’re welcome.” Now get out from behind your desk and give me a hot, steamy, thank-you kiss. A guy can dream.

Cat's Review of Holiday Huddle by Felice Stevens @felicestevens @tammystwocents X- @FeliceStevens1 @TTCBooksandmore

Wow. I did not expect to run into Brooklyn Kings retired football star Harte McKinney in my hometown of Appleton Falls. It takes me back to my college days when I crushed on him in silence. All these years later, nothing’s changed. Even better, something in his eyes has me thinking he’s not as straight as I’d always believed.

When I find him hurt in a car crash in the snow, it’s my duty as a deputy sheriff to follow him to the hospital and make sure he’s going to be okay. Then we share an unexpected kiss, and I make him a proposal: come home with me to recuperate so we can explore these feelings behind closed doors.

Each day we spend together brings us closer, and we know we want to be together. But small towns have big eyes—we might not be able to keep what we have to ourselves much longer. My partner already suspects Harte and I are more than “just friends.” And when my mom gets an eyeful of Harte in his birthday suit…it’s time.

Let the snow fall where it may—we’re ready to come out.

There’s a fire crackling in the grate, the tree is decorated, and presents are wrapped. We’re all set to huddle together for the holidays and hope that love and magic of Christmas conquers all.

Cat gives this book 4 Meows with a 4 purr heat index...

This is a fast-paced spicy Holiday romance.

It's kind of a second chance as they had met Junior college and one had feelings for the other.

Harte is an ex-football player that has recently gone through a nasty divorce and now wants to discover his bisexuality.

Theres not a lot of plots to the story just discovery and hot times. It's a good Holiday romance.

If I had known that night that being in my life would put her in danger, I never would have asked her to dance.

For years, I’d danced around this flirtation with Bailey. We both knew it would eventually lead to that big, white chapel, overwhelming love, and a lifetime together that would rival any tragic love story.

If it weren’t for that dance.

That was the night everything changed.

I’d been planning this night with Bailey since I was in third grade when I rescued her from the monkey bars.

Ever since then, she was mine.

She knew it. My family knew it. Hell, the entire town had been waiting for the moment I would finally make my move.

Apparently, so was someone else.

But there was no joy where he was concerned, only a need for revenge that would destroy any happiness the two of us shared, along with anyone in my family.

No matter how hard I tried, there was no way out.

Her life was in danger, and it was all because of me. And that was something I just couldn’t tolerate.

She was the love of my life, but keeping her alive was more important than winning her in the end.

Cat gives this book 5 Meows with a 3 purr heat index...

This is book one of a new series and should be read after Parker and GoodKnight in the Reed Security series however you don't have to, it just would help to understand some characters that show up better. The beginning was a bit slow, and I felt slightly lost just at first. The Parker family is tied to Parker in the Reed Security series and I might've understood a few things better.
I've been eagerly awaiting this new series and though it's not anything like OPS... yet anyways....it was just as good as I Hoped.
Here are a few things I loved and not in any order.
The story has a family feud (kind of Hatfield and McCoy though we never get the entire backstreet of why Austin hates the Parker's particularly Jeff and why John (Austin and Wyatt's dad) is the way he is)
I love how this and a few other things drop hints to possible new ongoing plots.
Where this is a complete book with a very cute Happy Ever After (I hope anyways) it also sets up plots and characters I look forward to and hope we get their stories)
This one is a romance and a very good one.
It is also the suspense I love about Guilia Lagomarsino's books plus there is mystery as well.
It has a bit of humor as well.
It has lots of amazing characters
It has a strong female main character.
It has a sexy, protective, hot, sweet, main Male lead character (and so many more of those)
There are several characters (Antagonists to dislike but also hope they get stories too (Austin, Wyatt, even Clay) and who on earth was Bailey's mom talking about was her first love? Is there a story there? * Nudges author and begs sweetly*
Theres lots more like how well the steamy scenes are done and actually adds to the story and blends and isn't just there for the heat.
And the ending...oh my goodness I never saw that coming and I laughed at loud while I swooped.
So, if you like small town romance, sort of cowboys (Ranchers) childhood sweethearts, second chance, romance, suspense, mystery, with some heat this is definitely for you.

“So, Liam, what took you so long to ask me to dance?”

“Can’t a man have any secrets?”

“Not in this town,” she chuckled.

My eyes left hers for only a moment, but it was long enough to see the entire bar staring at us. “Alright, fair enough.”

“You know, I’ve had a crush on you since you helped me off the monkey bars in second grade.”

“Third,” I corrected. “You climbed up there in that pink dress, determined to be just like the boys.”

“You remembered.”

If she only knew how much I watched her. “There’s not much I don’t remember about you, Bailey Bennett. I’ve had my eye on you since I saw those cute little hearts on your underwear.”

“Liam!” she laughed, attempting to smack my chest with the hand I was holding. “You weren’t supposed to look! You promised!”

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Reclamation by Kristen Zimmer Book Blitz with Excerpt & #giveaway @kristen_zimmer_author @xpressotours @tammystwocents X- @XpressoTours @TTCBooksandmore

Reclamation
Kristen Zimmer
(Dark Horse Series, #1)
Publication date: December 9th 2025
Genres: Adult, Dystopian, New Adult, Science Fiction

Kristen Zimmer, author of The Gravity Between Us, When Sparks Fly, and Forbidden Girl takes readers on an adrenaline-fueled dystopian journey into the future where a scrappy band of rebels rise up to bring down an unequal and unrelenting government.

This is your future.

The United States of America has been gone for over a century.

In its place, The Unified American Territories—a nation divided, the impoverished and the wealthy are separated by a looming steel wall. In the Northern Territories—The Vault, as it is known by its inhabitants—the government rules with an iron fist: All citizens are tested for intelligence and aptitude, thrust into compulsory higher education and saddled with insurmountable debt. All student loans are granted and controlled by a branch of the regime called The Federal Bureau of Education. Failure to repay their debt consigns borrowers to the Knowledge Reclamation Process, a mysterious government-sanctioned brainwashing program that strips them of their education with dire mental and physical side effects.

Fletcher Daniels is a recent college graduate struggling to stay ahead of her arrears. After a visit from Reclamation Agents, she knows her life is about to change for the worse. Enter Youth Opposed to Reclamation, a scrappy band of rebels who try in their own small way to bring some relief to the people of The Vault by smuggling as many potential Reclaimees to safety as possible. When Fletcher meets and falls for fellow female YOR member, Sparrow, her world is twisted away from the one she once knew even more radically. The group offers Fletcher a chance to escape her fate, but through them, she sees the promise of bringing real change to The Vault. History has taught her that even the smallest rebellions can trigger revolutions. It’s time for history to repeat itself.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks

EXCERPT:

FLETCHER HAD BEEN ENJOYING the luxury of her sole day off work, reading The Scarlet Letter. Happily. Quietly. Until some unknowable thing, a strange tug in her chest, made her look up. She shut down her antiquated digireader with a tap of the cracked screen and watched from her bedroom window as a sleek, silver sedan pulled to a stop at the curb outside of her dilapidated row house. Agents.

She couldn’t see them through the car’s blacked-out windows, but it was obvious. The simple fact that the vehicle had the shine of something new was enough to give the Agents away. Being from The Vault, or The Northern Territories, as Fletcher’s part of the country was known officially, she rarely saw any cars on the road at all; cars in such impeccable condition were all but complete anomalies. Why do they even bother plastering the Department of Reclamation’s seal on the doors? She wondered.

That hideous seal. Words failed to capture how much Fletcher both loathed and feared it. The great red and black per bend crest, showcasing a scroll of parchment in one half and a tasseled mortarboard in the other, had always been reviled by citizens of The Vault. It meant that someone hadn’t paid their dues, and The Department of Reclamation had come to collect.

The Department of Reclamation employed the Agents who did the strong-arming for The Federal Bureau of Education. While the BOE housed the bookkeepers, The Department of Reclamation’s Agents handled the unseemlier work… and their work was generally quite unseemly. The Governing Council of The Unified American Territories had long ago authorized Reclamation Agents to use brute force “in the event of necessity.” More often than not, visits from Agents did end in violence—if not on their first visit, when a potential Reclaimee received their Notification of Violation, then most definitely on their second visit, when the Agents returned to take the Reclaimee into custody. Reclaimees seldom initiated said violence, of course; Fletcher had heard that most cried or begged for just a few more moments with their loved ones. They would be flogged once or twice and give up or otherwise be knocked out with narcotics. Occasionally, a Reclaimee would try to escape. Those individuals had it much worse. Fletcher closed her eyes and, although it pained her to do it, allowed herself to envision the brutality Agents inflicted upon braver people: Arms twisted so violently that shoulders snapped out their sockets, fingers bent backward with such force that the metacarpals fractured, skulls cracked against living room floors. She shuddered as if her skin had been kissed by an icy wind.

Reclamation Agents were no strangers to The Vault, considering it was the part of the country reserved for the impoverished, the destitute and the disillusioned—those who needed “excessive assistance” from the Government. Those like Fletcher. She would need at least ten more fingers to be able to count the number of times she had seen Agents in her neighborhood in the last week alone. Watching these two men march toward her home, she couldn’t help but wonder if they had come for her this time.

“Fletcher,” her father’s voice boomed through the dimness of her room. “Can you come out here, please?”

“I’ll be right there.”

She peered into the tarnished mirror atop her bedside table. Using the remnants of daylight to aid her vision, she pulled her long blonde hair up into a ponytail. “Alright,” she sighed to herself, her sharp jawline clenching and her hazel eyes burning with angst. “If they are here for you, you’ll find out soon enough.”

Kristen Zimmer is the author of The Gravity Between Us, which spent 12 weeks as the number one best-seller in both the Lesbian Fiction and Lesbian Romance genres on Amazon. It was listed as one of USA Today’s “10 Best books to read for Pride 2018” and in December 2021 was named one of Reader's Digest '50 Best Romance Novels of All Time'

That same year, her follow-up novel, When Sparks Fly, debuted as the best-seller in Lesbian Fiction and Lesbian romance, and clung to the spot for four weeks.

Her latest novel, Forbidden Girl, a dark mafia sapphic romance, is available now.

Kristen lives in Salem, Massachusetts— yes, where the witches were.
