Cat's Audiobook Review of 12 Dates of Christmas (Christmas Falls Season 2) Written by Brigham Vaughn Narrated by James Edward Jones @brighamvaughn @neonrainbow @tammystwocents X- @AuthorBVaughn @TTCBooksandmore

Leo Fenner needs a Christmas miracle …

Charmed by the small town, and weary the big city dating scene, Leo moved to Christmas Falls in hopes of finding love like his college friend, Hayden.

Nick Morgan had the love of his life and lost her, but is determined to help others find their happily ever after with his matchmaking service.

His website needs work though, and Leo is just the man for the job.

The web developer signs up for Nick’s matchmaking service to get a feel for what the process is like, all while secretly hoping it’ll bring him the love of his dreams.

But as Nick and Leo work together, the sparks between them are impossible to ignore.

Too bad there’s a few little problems.

For one, Nick’s never fallen for a man before. And, oh yeah—those dates he’s planning for Leo? They’re supposed to be with other guys …

Christmas Season 2 revisits a small town that thrives on enough holiday charm to rival any Hallmark movie. It's a multi-author M/M romance series.

Content Warning: This book contains scenes discussing the unexpected death of a spouse, grief, and moving on.

Cat gives this book 5 meows with a 3 purr heat index...

Another cute, fun story in this multi author series. You can read each as a stand alone, but they are so good why not binge them all.

This is Nicholas' story and he's the town matchmaker. He's having trouble with his website and Hayden can't fix it, so he calls in Leo, new to Christmas falls and Hayden's best friend.

The characters are quirky, the story is interesting and funny. Plus there is a cute kitty.

If you like age gap, small town romance, holiday romance, and a pretty spicy story this is for you.

Cat gives this Audiobook 5 meows for the story & 5 meows for the performance...

Audio update. The narration makes an already awesome book even more amazing. I love the soothing voice and emotion. I felt pulled into the fun little town.

Cat's Audiobook Review of The Last Grift Written by Elle Keaton Narrated by Christian Leatherman @ellekeatonauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

Jaded confidence man Gabriel Karne is on the run. A literal snarling, slobbering guard dog nips at his heels.  If he makes it over the chain-link fence, he vows to skip town for friendlier climes. Somewhere no one knows his name.

It will be fine. Everything will be fine.

Less than twenty-four hours on the island and Gabriel's had a nasty confrontation with two local good ol’ boys, earned a trespassing citation from an infuriating but compelling forest ranger, and offered to search for a missing person. So much for lying low.

Being off his game only partially explains why Gabe would rather focus on a stranger’s bad luck than his own. Fact is, he's always had a soft spot for losers and maybe, just maybe, he's tired of the game.

The Last Grift is the first installment in the Subtle Deceptions series, a small town mystery with romantic elements. The series, part of the Piedras Island and Veiled Intentions universe, is written in the third person and follows the unplanned adventures in the life and love of the disreputable Gabriel Karne.

Cat gives this ebook 4 Meows...

This is the first book in a new series and follows the same characters.

It starts out with action then slows down a bit with Gabriel on the run from a grift gone wrong. His mom recently passed away and left him an inheritance. So he goes to find it and see if he can hide there.

He meets an overworked park ranger with his own problems, a gas station clerk that ends up causing problems and probably best character in the book, Old man Elton the glue that keeps them all together. There's more than one plot, twists and turns and lots of action. No romance in this one.

Audio update.

I really loved the narration. The pacing is good, and I love how i felt the action and emotion... good to read much more fun to listen. I highly recommend the audio.

Broken, broody, mysterious, swoony, inclusive; those are my tropes.

It’s my grandmother’s fault! Alice Lee bribed me to read with a Nancy Drew box set—and changed my life forever.

Love at first binge read.

By the time high school rolled around I’d already discovered romantic suspense and gothic romance, and I’ve never looked back. What can I say? My love of mystery and suspense started early and runs deep.

Is there anything better than a character who by the end of the story manages to redeem/heal themselves enough to fall in love? No, there isn’t.

Fast forward to 2017 when, with a shaky finger, I pressed the Publish button for the first time. I’ve never regretted it. I love writing and telling stories that others enjoy, it’s a dream come true.

What else? I love both cats and dogs. Star Wars and Star Trek. Pineapple on pizza, and have a cribbage habit my husband encourages. We live in a log cabin near Hood Canal in Washington State, if the sky is clear at night the milky way is visible. But most often I’m inside devouring yet another book!

Blurb

Desperate to escape the pain of his brother’s death, Jesse Melnik ran—but he couldn’t outrun the grief, no matter how much distance he put between himself and his past. Now, after fifteen years of trying, he’s finally ready to face his hometown of Charlottetown again.

He expects the memories of his brother to hover in every corner of his family’s sailboat and whisper in every sea-tinged breeze.

What he doesn’t expect is Parker Willis, the best friend he left behind without a word the day he fled.

And he certainly doesn’t expect old feelings to resurface.

Parker’s been stuck in a rut since his father died three months ago. Every day is the same: try to keep his father’s dinner cruise business afloat so he can chip away at Dad’s debts, all while working a job that leaves him more frustrated than satisfied.

Then Parker’s routine shatters in the best way possible: Jesse Melnik returns to Prince Edward Island for the summer, all six feet three inches of gorgeous hockey player.

Now, that’s different.

Jesse kickstarts Parker’s heart.

 Parker makes Jesse feel again.

And although both men are a little bit damaged from struggling down the broken path of loss, maybe—just maybe—if they can lean on each other, they’ll learn to move forward at last.

Content warnings: themes of grief, discussions of a parent's death from cancer, discussions/descriptions of a sibling's death from suicide

Cat gives this book 4 Meows...

This is Jesse's story but works well as a standalone.
The story does deal with grief. If this is a trigger you may want to skip. Both men have lost someone   I love how each deal differently.  I have been waiting for Jesse's story and though not redemption. I loved the way it was handle, it's about letting go and moving on.

The characters are interesting and have a depth about them. The story though angsty and heavy topics is beautifully written with a touch of sweetness and whimsy; soft winds and creepy dolls that won't disappear. The romance sweet with the right amount of heat.

If you love hockey romance, small towns, friends to lovers, angst, grief sweet romance. And a beautiful story this is for you.

Excerpt...

Jesse glanced over and nearly swallowed his tongue.

How dare running shorts be so goddamn tiny and cling so goddamn nicely to long, shapely legs dusted with hair the same shade as the finest dark chocolate? Jesse was still reeling at being in the same place at the same time as Parker for the first time in years—had, in fact, tossed and turned all night thinking about Parker—and now he showed up out of nowhere again and sent Jesse’s libido into a jumble of desire and yearning?

There were things that Jesse had left in his past, and his attraction to his best friend was supposed to be one of them.

Former best friend? Best friend he’d recently gotten reacquainted with? Former best friend who could be his new best friend?

Fuck. Relationships were hard.

Along with the shorts, Parker also wore a long-sleeved running shirt in teal and a baseball hat with Montreal hockey’s logo on the front. His dark hair curled out from underneath the sides of the hat, and the two-day stubble on his jaw was way sexier than Jesse wanted to admit. He was a couple of inches shorter than Jesse’s six foot three, but whereas Jesse was—admittedly—very big, even for a defenceman, Parker was lanky and toned, the muscle definition obvious in his running gear in a way it hadn’t been in the jeans and Willis Dinner Cruises-branded long-sleeved T-shirt he’d been wearing last night when he’d appeared like a figment of Jesse’s childhood wishes and sat next to him on the bench at the marina.

Whatever he wore, Parker looked like he’d fit into all of Jesse’s empty spaces.

Shaking his head to rid himself of that thought, he shoved his phone back in his pocket and scowled. “I’ll get you a new hat.”

Parker’s lips quirked. “I like this hat.”

“Since when are you a Montreal fan?”

“Hey, don’t knock them. They made it to the playoffs.”

The unlike you was left unsaid, but Jesse heard it loud and clear and refused to be amused.

“So.” Parker’s shoulder bumped up against his. “What are you doing?”

“What are you doing?”

“This is my jogging route.”

“That so?” Jesse would have to remember to be by his window in the mornings so he could watch Parker run by in his short shorts.

“Mm-hmm. Is it your jogging route?”

“No.”

“What are you doing here then?”

Glancing back at the house, Jesse let out a long breath. “Deciding what to tackle first. What colour would you paint that door?”

Parker blinked once and frowned. “Why would you paint it any colour?”

“Because that rusty red makes me think of dead bodies on a crime show?”

“No, I mean . . .” That unique greyish-greenish gaze of Parker’s swung from Jesse to the house and back. “Do you know the people who live here? Are you doing work for them this summer or something?”

I live here,” Jesse said. “And I don’t want to live with that gross colour for the next two months.”

“You . . . bought a house?”

Jesse grunted.

“But you live in Vancouver,” Parker said slowly, as though reminding Jesse of this fact.

“No, I know, but . . .”

But what? He’d wanted a project for the summer? Something that would keep him occupied so he didn’t have to think about where he was and why he was back for the first time in fifteen years? A fixer-upper was as good a distraction as anything.

His therapist wouldn’t love that he was keeping busy instead of sitting with and analyzing his feelings. But she didn’t have to know. Right?

When Jesse didn’t continue, Parker said, “Are you retiring from hockey and moving back here?”

“Fuck no,” Jesse blurted.

Cat's Review of Depths of Desire (The Saints of Westmont U book 4) by Hayden Hall @authorhaydenhall @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

He was my secret crush. My one-night escape. And the mistake I can’t stop wanting.

Lennox

Some guys flirt for fun. I fall too fast.

Oliver Hayworth was my childhood crush, the golden boy who never looked back.

So when I offered him a ride home for the holidays, I didn’t expect a blizzard. Or the cabin. Or the night that would ruin me for anyone else.

Now we’re back at Westmont U, and he’s acting like it never happened. Like I don’t exist. Like he didn’t whisper my name all night long.

But I see through him. I see the pressure, the fear, and the fire he tries to bury under medals and ambition.

And I want him anyway, even if it breaks me.

Oliver

He wants something real. I don’t have that to give.

Lennox Ellery is every dangerous thing I’ve tried to avoid. He’s warm, open, and impossible to ignore.

I told myself it was a mistake. Just one night. A slip in focus.

But I can’t stop thinking about him. About the way he looked at me like I was more than a swimmer chasing gold.

I’ve spent my whole life sacrificing everything for one dream.

I never planned for him.

And now that he’s in my head, in my bed, and in my heart, I don’t know how to let him go.

Depths of Desire is a hockey romance and the fourth book in The Saints of Westmont U series. It follows an ambitious swimmer and a flirtatious hockey jock in a snowed-in cabin, a one-night-stand neither can forget, and a whole lot of pining. While each book can be read on its own, reading in order will be more fun.

This is book 4 in the Saints of Westmont U. It can be read by itself but is better read in order.
I think it was fine as a standalone, though I've read one other in series.

I'm going to be very honest, at first I didn't like Oliver at all, then farther on I didn't like Lennox that much either. Then I realized this isn't a totally character driven story. I relaxed and let the beauty of it consume me; and that it did.

The writing is absolutely gorgeous. When they first got together, I was like oh I'm going to quote that! Next page...no I'm quoting that!  Why no quotes? Because I'd get in trouble for quoting most of the book. So, I say get this if you like College Hockey, Olympic Swimmers, Opposites attract, Small-town romance, Childhood crush

Snowed in... one bed, tough decision, and a beautifully written hot romance.

Burn Bag (Owens Protective Services Book 31) by Giulia Lagomarsino Book tour with Cat's Review @giulialagomarsinoauthor @enticingjourney @tammystwocents X- @crzybookladyluv @EJBookPromos @TTCBooksandmore

Title: Burn Bag
Series: Owens Protective Services, Book 31
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Romantic Suspense; Alpha Romance
Release Date: July 21, 2025
Cover Design: T.E. Black Designs
Cover Photographer: RplusM Photo

Burn Bag: The act of throwing all caution to the wind and burning down all previous plans.

Nothing in my life had worked out as expected.

I lost the woman I loved to another man, my father had been shot in front of me, and I nearly died in his grave when a sniper tried to take me out.

Suffice it to say, things could have been going better for me.

So, I tore up the game plan, went online, and found myself a wife.

Everything was finally coming up roses.

And then she lifted the veil…

When I said I was burning down my old life, I didn’t really understand what that entailed.

But I laid it all on the line for this woman, and I wasn’t walking away for anything.

No matter how many times either of us ended up in the hospital.

Cat gives this book 5 Meows with a 4 purr heat index...

You do need read in order as there is an overall storyline and recurring character's.
I absolutely loved this book. We get Fox, Red and several other characters we love plus hopefully this is Kavanaugh book! He deserves an HEA after all he's been through. There is more on Cash, some adventure, lots of humor and hotness. Ohhhh and cats! Lots and lots of cats. And Kavanaugh gets his happy! Finally.

The veil covered her face, but I knew what waited underneath would be absolutely breathtaking. She had been gorgeous in that coffee house, so I knew today would be even more amazing. Women always did themselves up for their weddings.

“I can’t believe this is really happening,” I choked out. “I’m finally getting married.”

“Congratulations,” Red muttered, though he didn’t sound too thrilled.

Everyone in the church was in awe of the woman walking toward me. She was absolutely beautiful. God, my heart was clenching at what was about to happen.

Finally, after what felt like five minutes, she stood beside me. Grinning like a fool, I took the veil and lifted it, brushing it back over her head.

And paused in confusion.

Blond hair. Check.

Blue eyes. Nope.

Long, slender nose. Nope.

Short? Not really.

“Um…” I stared at the woman who was not the woman I chose to marry, and failed to say anything else.

“Emily decided she couldn’t make it,” the woman smiled. “I’m Daphne. I’m filling in for her.”

Filling in. As if she was taking her place in a race instead of a marriage. My heart thundered in my chest as I heard Red chuckling behind me. What the hell was I supposed to do now? All these people were here, waiting for me to get married. I’d told everyone she was the woman of my dreams, and then she failed to show.

And she even got a stand in.

“I’m sorry, what?”

The woman looked a tad nervous as she leaned in closer. “Daphne Gray. It’s nice to meet you.”

I had two choices. I could go walk out and lick my wounds—admit that this whole thing had been a stupid decision—or I could go through with this insanity and save face. At least for the next day.

“Bradford Kavanaugh,” I said after just a moment of hesitation. “Let’s get married.”

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

EXCERPT:

Luckily, my phone rings at the perfect moment.
“Excuse me, I have to take this. It might be important.”
I get up from the table and walk into the living room. When I pick up my phone and see his name flashing on the screen, I almost decide to drop the call and go back to the kids’ interrogation.
“Hey,” I greet him.
“Oh, hey,” Seth says. “I meant to call earlier, but I haven’t had a free moment. How’s everything going?”
“All good.”
“Are you sure?”
“We’ll be fine. Don’t worry.”
“Oh, but I’m not worried about the children. I’m sure they’ll be fine.”
“I’m managing too.”
“You wouldn’t know it by your voice.”
“I’m just a bit…”
“Have they put you on trial?”
“With the help of my friend Paul.”
“Does he tell all your secrets?”
I only have one secret at the moment. The fact that your voice makes me feel so inexplicably good.
“Something like that.”
“I’d like to be there to hear them.”
I sigh at the thought of wanting the same.
“I can give you a summary when you get back.”
“I don’t want a summary. I want every detail.”
The way he says it sends a hot shiver down my spine.
“I’m not good with details, but I can do my best.”
A long, endless moment of silence, filled with his heavy breathing; then, Seth says, in his seductive voice, “I’m sure you will.”
