Cat's Review of Guarding his Home by Andrew Grey @andrewgreybooks @tammystwocents X- @AndrewGreyBooks @TTCBooksandmore

Single father Brendan Marshall is trying to keep life and limb together after his divorce. Having gotten custody of Jameson in a tough custody battle, he’s determined to be the best father he can. However, it seems his ex is not willing to just walk away, even if she isn’t up for mother of the year. When a threat arises to his family horse farm, he realizes he needs help to keep his family safe.

Lucas Stone is a bouncer at a happening night club until it closes its doors, and what he needs now is a job. Through a mutual friend, Lucas meets Brendan. He knows nothing about farms, horses, or goats. But what he does know is security, and the fact that there is something about Brendan that gets under his skin… like, way under.

Both men are in uneasy territory, but they quickly realize that they need to rely on each other. Brendan comes to learn that Lucas will act in order to keep him and Jameson safe, and Lucas quickly figures out that while country life is different from his past experience, it also has its charm… like the farmer and his amazing son. But just as a relationship begins to build, outside threats could pull everything they care about to pieces.

Cat gives this book 3.5 meows...

Here's another sweet, short, fast paced read for when you need something pretty low angst with lots of feels.

Brendon has a fairly lucrative horse ranch with some other livestock that combined with his four-year-old son keeps him busy.

He starts having small incidents on the farm and contacts his Lawyer Greg, from Lawyers Quandary, but it's not necessary to read that book to enjoy this story. Fun little Easter Egg though.

Greg has a cousin that needs a job and suggests him to help out and keep a watch, so Brendan hires him.

As usual this story is sweet and lots of fun. I love little children in story's so a big plus for me.  He adds a lot of charm and some humor.

If you love single dads, ranchers, horses, goats, dogs, cute kids, small towns, protectors, and low heat low angst romance with lots of feels and a touch of mystery this is for you.

Cat's Review of Control Freak (Foster Bro Code book 3) by DJ Jamison @author_dj_jamison @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @DJ_Jamison_ @TTCBooksandmore

I'm the bossy brother ...

Controlling the world around me is the only way I feel safe. Childhood abuse has left me scarred inside and out. But control makes me feel strong.

Unfortunately, I can’t control everything I want--including my body's panic response to touch. It’s hard to share affection with my brothers, much less anyone else. I’ve all but given up on a romantic relationship.

My only intimacy is with a camboy who can give me what I need without triggering my trauma. Shiloh is beautiful, warm, and sensitive. We're not just camboy and client; we're friends. It’s not everything I crave, but it’s more than I’ve ever had.

Then I find out he’s in trouble—and I can’t stand by and watch him get hurt. I bring him home, pushing my boundaries to protect him. But once he’s in my safe space, so close and inviting, my temptation wars with preservation.

Can I overcome my touch-aversion for a chance at real love—or will I just hurt us both?

Control Freak is Book 3 of Foster Bro Code, about a group of foster brothers who have made a pact to have each other's backs as they heal and find their way to love. TW for references to childhood abuse, lingering trauma and anxiety, and physical assault/violence on page.

Trigger warnings: talk of past abuse and trauma, touch aversion,

Read authors note and warnings before starting.

Holy cow! This was so amazing. I've been waiting for Holden's book and wondering how the heck he'd ever get a HEA but should have known DJ Jamison could. And she knocked it out of the ballpark and into the next town.
And Shiloh is amazing in himself... so two men needing love and so different but wow it works. There's also some suspense and lots of heat. This was really amazing.

If you like foster brothers, Camboy, forced proximity, small town, hurt/comfort, emotional challenges, broken men, found family and a very good but emotional story this is for you.  I can't recommend this book enough.

DJ Jamison writes romances about everyday life and extraordinary love featuring a variety of queer characters, from gay to bisexual to asexual. DJ grew up in the Midwest in a working-class family, and those influences can be found in her writing through characters coping with real-life problems: money troubles, workplace drama, family conflicts and, of course, falling in love. DJ spent more than a decade in the newspaper industry before chasing her first dream to write fiction. She spent a lifetime reading before that and continues to avidly devour her fellow authors’ books each night. She lives in Kansas with her husband, two sons, one snake, and a sadistic cat named Birdie.

Cat's Review of The Lawyer's Quandary by Andrew Grey @andrewgreybooks @tammystwocents X- @AndrewGreyBooks @TTCBooksandmore

Two people walk into his office and change everything.

Greg Lampeter hung out a shingle after years at a large law firm and is beginning to have some success. When a new client walks through his door, he’s intrigued by the case and the cause it represents and agrees to take it on principal. What he doesn’t expect is the man with him to capture his attention so completely.

Assistant swimming coach Mark Baker only came to the appointment as moral support for his friend, Steven. He doesn’t expect the lawyer to be so understanding and supportive, and he certainly doesn’t expect the spark of attraction that pulls at him almost from the moment they shake hands.

Both men are determined to remain professional for Steven’s sake, for the help he needs in dealing with the college and a serious issue with one of the assistant Lacrosse coaches. As facts come to light, it’s clear that Greg is going to have to walk a close line to ensure that Steven gets the justice he deserves, and to protect Mark and their budding relationship from becoming collateral damage.

Cat gives this book 4 meows...

This is a sweet, short read.

Greg is a small-town attorney in Carlisle. He meets Marc when he comes in with a potential client. They hit it off immediately.

I love more mature characters like this. I liked how the hit it off and developed a friendship over a young man facing a bad situation.

It is a touchy topic but very well done with beautiful scenery, a sweet, budding romance with fade to black heat (I happen to like this) and some wit and charm to lighten the topic.
Another beautiful read.

The Magical Christmas Cottage by Aimee O'Brian Book Blitz Spotlight with Excerpt & #giveaway @aimeeobrianauthor @xpressotours @tammystwocents X- @AimeeOBrian @XpressoTours @TTCBooksandmore

The Magical Christmas Cottage
Aimee O’Brian
(Charmed Love, #3)
Publication date: October 23rd 2025
Genres: Adult, Holiday, Romance

In the small town of Hazard, sometimes love is the greatest Christmas miracle.

Alina McAllister is starting fresh in the charming town of Hazard, Rhode Island, with a simple plan: take a docent job at the Historical Society and embrace the magic of the season. But when her landlady Hazel suffers a stroke, everything changes. Hazel’s grumpy yet undeniably handsome grandson, Carter Bestwick, swoops into town determined to sell the cottage and move on with his corporate life. He needs Alina to leave—immediately.

With nowhere to go and a snowstorm trapping them together, Alina and Carter are forced into close quarters. What starts as a tense, begrudging arrangement soon sparks undeniable chemistry. As they clear out the attic, they discover Hazel’s magical wedding bands—heirlooms passed down through generations since the Revolutionary War—and find that sometimes, the magic of love is closer than they think.

In this heartwarming, opposites-attract holiday romance, Alina and Carter may just find that the greatest gift of all is an unexpected love.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble / iBooks / Kobo

EXCERPT:

With a playful glance at Carter, Alina slipped the small gold ring on her finger. It fit perfectly. She admired the filigreed design of clasped hands and held up her own. “What do you think?”

Carter frowned at her. Of course he did. His voice was rough when he spoke. “What are you doing?”

Alina shrugged. “Having some fun. You could try it. You do know what fun is?”

His frown lines deepened into furrows. If he wasn’t careful, he’d look old before his time.

Determined to help him avoid that fate, Alina teased, “Don’t you ever have fun? Here.” She held out the larger ring to him. It too, had a design of clasped hands.

He raised a disapproving brow. “You want me to put on some old wedding band.” It wasn’t a question and the censure in his voice was obvious.

“Sure, why not? What are you afraid of?”

He tilted his head. “I’m not a commitment-phobe if that’s what you’re implying.”

“So, put it on.” She issued the challenge to see if he’d accept.

“We are not making a commitment.”

“No, we are playing. Fun, remember?”

When he just stared at the ring, she added, “I dare you.”

Carter’s eyes narrowed. “You dare me?”

“That’s right, I dare you.” She was back to playground taunts, but this time Alina didn’t care because it really was fun. And he needed to lighten up.

Carter tilted his chin up for a moment before he narrowed his eyes at her and slipped the ring on the third finger of his left hand.

It went on easily like hers had. “See, perfect fit. I wonder where they came from.”

“They’re old, I’m certain.” Carter gazed down at the ring on his finger. “I’ve seen pictures of this type of ring somewhere. Traditional workmanship but surprisingly comfortable. Okay, time to get back to work. Fun’s over.”

“Fun should never be over.”

Carter tugged on the ring to take it off. He blinked, tugged harder. “That’s odd. It went on so smooth, and now it’s stuck.”

Cat's Review of Perfect Storm by Beth Bolden @bethboldenauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @beth_bolden @TTCBooksandmore

  • When the sexy little brother of Aidan’s best friend suggests a hookup pact, it's the perfect storm for a bi-awakening . . .

Toronto Thunder quarterback Aidan Flynn always believed he was straight, until his close friend and favorite wide receiver signs with a team across the country. Distance opens his eyes and unlocks a desire he can’t deny. Even if his feelings aren’t returned, Aidan still wants to learn more about this part of himself.

Frustrated and a little heartbroken, the last thing he expects is for his crappy mood to get called out by his best friend’s little brother. Or for Levi to offer, on one drunken night, a pact: if Aidan never gets together with his guy, Levi will show him everything he’s been missing—and wanting—in bed.

It’s a stupid promise, fueled by booze and heartbreak, and Aidan expects that Levi will never call him on it.

Except Levi does. He shows up at Aidan’s house in Toronto less than two months later, not only willing to fulfill his side of the pact, but now signed to the Thunder as Aidan’s new right tackle. Aidan assumes it’ll be easy to get rid of him, but Levi is charming and persistent, and he not only ends up living in Aidan’s house, but sleeping in Aidan’s bed.

It’s easy and fun and the best hookup Aidan’s ever had in his whole life. It’s so good, in fact, Aidan starts to experience feelings he believed were long gone, traded away with his friend. Maybe with Levi in his life, love isn’t such a lost cause, after all.

They’re great on the field and between the sheets. But when Aidan’s past returns, he must decide whether Levi also has a place in his heart.

This one kicks off another great series. We are back to Football.

This being a series opener introduces lots of new characters and we see some old (Banks Brothers and of course Aiden's brother Landry) plus if you read the Hockey books you'll recognize another.

The story is good. I was glad to see both Aiden and Levi get a HEA though I never guessed it would be together.

There's a little age Gap, brother's best friend and also forced proximity. Of course, a hot, spicy football romance.

Coming Up For Air by Jessica Natalie Reino Book Blitz with Excerpt & #giveaway @jnrlitauthor @xpressotours @tammystwocents X- @JNRlitauthor @XpressoTours @TTCBooksandmore

Coming Up for Air
Jessica Natalie Reino
Published by: Fire and Ice YA
Publication date: October 20th 2025
Genres: Fantasy, Paranormal, Young Adult

As if the rumors and whispers from the people of her seaside town, Oceanbrook, weren’t bad enough, 17-year-old Sarah D’Antonio is troubled by the whispers from the forest. It’s not her fault that she hears voices, that she sees auras, and that she has been sleepwalking along the shore. The townspeople, and Sarah’s parents among them, claim that it is all in response to stress, including her chronic migraines and panic attacks. They believe that she can’t come to grips with the fact that her cousin, Lena, is dead. But Sarah knows that the things she is experiencing are real and not something she is bringing on herself. She also knows that Lena is not dead, only missing. She believes that there is something more supernatural going on and that the town is hiding secrets.

Sarah’s feelings are validated when she suddenly becomes thrust into a world in which she has always sensed but never seen. A world of fairy witches, shape-shifters, and legendary creatures. The world of the astral plane. And now, it will be up to her to form alliances to save the magic, fix the astral plane, and most importantly, to bring her cousin home.

Goodreads / Amazon / Barnes & Noble

EXCERPT:

I had lost so much over the span of the last few years. Second-guessing everything but still trying to find a reason behind why bad things happen. It’s not like I didn’t know that life wasn’t fair, but living with chronic illness and how everyone reacted differently to Lena’s disappearance really drove home the fact that I would never be able to fully trust my relationships, my health, or even my beliefs. I think that’s what scared me the most. Everything that I had believed was shaken, and I had to build a new normal. I had to build myself back up. Only, I didn’t have a solid foundation on which to do it.

Jessica Natalie Reino is a multi-genre author with a soft spot for sweet romance and the supernatural. Inspired by her Italian heritage and growing up in New England, she is constantly developing new story ideas that not only raise awareness for those with invisible illnesses, but also promote kindness and the importance of physical and mental health. Cat's Review of The Unlikely Hair Audiobook written by Jax Calder with Tammy's eBook review & excerpt @jaxcalderauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

What happens when the Prince of Wales falls in love with the Prime Minister?

My boring life working in an insurance call center in sunny California just took an unexpected turn. Thanks to my misbehaving relatives, I’ve leapt from obscurity to royalty as the new heir to the British throne.

But my welcome in England is about as warm as the weather. I arrive to discover a country horrified at the thought of an American version of Prince Charming and ready to revolt against the monarchy. I vow to my grandmother, the Queen, that I will do everything possible to help her save the crown.

Unfortunately, royal life isn’t easy. From bewildering traditions, traitorous friends, and malevolent swans, the only thing I’m succeeding in is providing entertainment for the tabloids and social media trolls.

And then the broodingly handsome Prime Minister, Oliver Hartwell, bursts into my life.

With his meteoric rise from poverty to the most powerful man in the country, Oliver understands my current plight. Innocent messages of support turn into late-night chats—and unexpected feelings.

But there’s one major problem. The royal family must remain politically neutral at all times.

So how can I keep my promise to save the monarchy when I’m falling in love with the Prime Minister?

A forbidden romance filled with humor and drama featuring a bumbling Prince of Wales and a stern yet dashing Prime Minister, with a love that could transform a nation.

Cat gives the Audiobook 5 Meows for the story and 5 Meows the performance...

Oh, my this was amazing. The story interesting, sweet, charming, funny, a touch of suspense later and oh so many twists. I couldn't quit listening.
The narration was amazing. I love his little breathlessness but during a peak action scene he took my breath away with all the tension and excitement

There's a little age gap; its Prince and Prime minister so work conflict. A touch of drama, slow burn and some humor. Fabulous story!

Tammy gives the ebook 4.5 Stars...

Callum is settled into his mundane life in California when an unexpected turn of events brings him to the UK to take his place as the Prince of Wales. Overwhelmed and underqualified, he turns to the Prime Minister, openly out and proud Oliver Hartwell. The two develop an unlikely friendship that slowly blossoms into something more.

Such a fun story, very reminiscent of Red, White and Royal Blue (in my opinion) with fantastically written characters. There is a bit of angst and predictability toward the end, but then an unexpected twist that made up for it. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend for any readers that love happily ever after, sort of hopeless romantic type of stories.

EXCERPT:

Oliver and I sit next to each other on the park bench. Our shoulders brush, and my heart races.

Someone as handsome as him shouldn’t be allowed to mix with mere mortals. It’s not fair.

Oliver stares out across the dimly lit soccer pitch.

“I used to trudge across these fields, this skinny kid with big ears, a kid without a mum or dad, struggling with my sexual identity.”

“Imagine what that kid would say if he could see you now,” I say.

Oliver gives a low chuckle. “If someone had told me that one day, I’d be prime minister and sitting on this bench talking to the Prince of Wales, I don’t think I would have believed them.”

“And yet here we are,” I say.

“Here we are,” Oliver echoes.

His eyes meet mine, and we just stare at each other.

My heart thuds under the weight of Oliver’s unwavering gaze.

I tilt my head back to look at the night sky. But because we’re in London, where light pollution reigns supreme, there are no real stars to be seen.

Instead, I focus on one of the nearby streetlamps and the haze around it. It’s beautiful in its own way, another reminder of the hidden beauty in this world.

“I never imagined when I saw the coverage of your election that you’d one day become my best friend,” I say.

It’s true. Me at twenty-two, sitting in my small apartment, watching on TV the handsome, confident man on the steps of 10 Downing Street with his gorgeous husband. Could I have ever imagined our lives would overlap in this way?

It’s only after the words are out of my mouth that I realize how intense they are. Shit. Oliver’s probably worried I’m going to ask him to be my BFF. Maybe seal our friendship by becoming blood brothers. Heat floods my face.

“I mean, you’re definitely the person I’m the most real with,” I add quickly, flicking a glance at him.

The light of the streetlamp reflects in Oliver’s eyes as he stares at me.

“You’re the person I’m the most real with too,” he says quietly.

My heart thuds recklessly.

Oliver’s tie is loosened, and he’s staring at me with those intense dark eyes.

There might be a time and place where I can resist Oliver when he looks at me the way he’s looking at me now.

But it is not this moment.

I lean toward him and press my lips to his.

It’s just a light touch of our mouths, yet all the nerve endings in my lips tingle like they’ve been electrified. Oliver’s breath leaves him in a silent exhale, a gentle ghosting over my face.

His lips are soft and warm under mine.

It’s a gentle kiss, fragile as a feather.

When I pull back, Oliver is staring at me, his eyes wide. His chest rises and falls rapidly.

“Bloody hell, Callum.” His voice is rougher than normal, and he looks flustered, and I’ve never seen him look flustered before. He’s usually so in control.

And I think I like flustered Oliver even more than in-control Oliver, which is why I close the distance between us again.

“The rules don’t apply tonight, remember?” I whisper against his lips.

I hover there, close to him. But I don’t want to kiss him again if he doesn’t want this.

Oliver’s eyes scan my face, and suddenly, he makes a noise in his throat and one of his hands palms the side of my face.

And we’re kissing for real.

I’m kissing Oliver Hartwell.

The fact causes my mind to melt, leaving me incapable of coherent thought, so instead, I just catalog the sensations.

The heat of Oliver. His taste. The feel of his tongue moving in sure strokes against mine, the rasp of his stubble against my skin. I am definitely, definitely kissing a man.

I’ve never felt this way kissing someone before.

My hands go to the back of his head, grabbing strands of his soft hair like I’m trying to secure him, tether him, keep him exactly where he is, where I get to breathe in Oliver, continue kissing him.

Oliver’s lips move fervently against mine, his hands sliding down my back. I let out a soft moan, lost in the sensation of kissing him.

I’m not prepared to let this kiss end. Because it turns out Oliver’s lips contain the answer to every question I’ve ever had about myself.

And that overrides the fact that of all the people in this world I shouldn’t be kissing, Oliver is top of the list.

Our kiss smooths out, slowing from hot and heavy to tender and sweet.

It’s a lingering kiss, as if Oliver feels exactly like I do, like he wants to extend this perfect moment for as long as possible before the real world intrudes.

But we can’t block out the rest of the world forever.

Eventually, Oliver withdraws from me. In the dim light, his pupils seem enormous, swallowing his irises so the black pools are all I can see.

“Callum,” he says. Somehow, he says my name like it’s both a question and the answer.
