Cat's Review of Eat His Words: An MM Celebrity Crush Romance by Ariella Zoelle @ariellazoelle @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @ariellazoelle @TTCBooksandmore

The Scoville scale was not designed to measure sexual tension, but here we are.

As the host of the viral Sweet Heat show, I’ve built a career feeding celebrities desserts so spicy they should come with legal waivers. My guests sweat, cry, curse my name, and occasionally question every decision that led them to my kitchen. It’s gourmet chaos that makes fans go feral.

Then Niccolò de Rosa agrees to be a guest.

Yes, that Niccolò.

Three Michelin stars. Killer Italian accent. Ego whipped to stiff peaks.

The man who once called my desserts “what happens when a pastry chef mistakes psychological warfare for a cooking technique.”

I’ve been hopelessly in love with him ever since, because apparently my type is arrogant men who compare my baking to crimes against humanity.

My plan is simple. Blindfold Niccolò while feeding him increasingly unholy desserts to make the arrogant jerk eat every sassy word he’s ever said about me.

What I didn’t expect is Niccolò treating every bite like flirting, every argument like foreplay, and for the world’s most intimidating chef to look at me like I’m his favorite challenge.

Suddenly, I’m faced with a shocking possibility.

What if the man I’ve spent years wanting is starting to want me back?

If I’m lucky, we’re about to give the phrase “chef’s kiss” a whole new meaning.

Eat His Words is a steamy MM romantic comedy featuring culinary insults, a celebrity chef that makes “open wide” sound like naughty innuendo, and two men who should probably stop flirting through professional hostility.

This novella was originally published as Sweet Heat in the Delicious anthology. It has a new epilogue added for this version.

This was sweet with lots of heat (pun intended).

I loved the banter and intends. A celebrity chef goes on a social influencer show to boost both their ratings... the kicker... the chef has to try five desserts with different levels of heat. I'm not sure what's hottest the desserts or the chemistry between these two.

I absolutely loved this and it's a short speedy read.

Cat's Review of Thunderstruck (Toronto Thunder Book 4) by Beth Bolden @bethboldenauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @beth_bolden @TTCBooksandmore

  • When Lane realizes he’s attracted to his straight stepbro, he’s absolutely thunderstruck . . .

It’s not the worst day of Lane’s life when his team, the Toronto Thunder, drafts his baby stepbro, Trevor, but it’s close.

No. The worst day was when his mom married Trevor’s dad. Trevor’s just too good, too naïve, too sheltered. Too hot.

Lane might claim he wants nothing to do with him, but that’s the worst delusion of all. He’s always wanted everything to do with Trevor. Even when they have zero in common. Even when Trevor’s always been on the straight and narrow. Literally.

Lane’s the total opposite. He’s walked—and danced and sashayed—to the beat of his own drum, forever. Mentoring Trevor now that they’re on the same team? Sounds like his idea of hell—and heaven, too. There’s a reason their teammates call them the demon twins.

But with the final few games of the season and the Thunders’ playoff run looming, Lane’s self-control is weaker than ever. Especially when Trevor confesses that he’s been thinking about it, too.

Suggesting Trevor experiment with their mutual attraction would be a terrible idea, but Lane’s had worse, and that’s never stopped him before.

And when it becomes way more than just sex? When Trevor becomes the first guy he wants to see in the mornings and the last thing before he goes to bed at night? When they’re so completely entangled together that he couldn’t get free, even if he wanted to?

That’s a special kind of thunder.

This is book 4 in the Toronto Thunder Series.

You don't necessarily need to read in order though it helps to know all the other guys mentioned.

I'll admit I wasn't as eager fir Lane and Trevor as I was for some of the stories, but I quickly changed my mind.  I really enjoyed their book and learning more about them.

It is a sweet story high on romance and emotion and high on play-by-play sports.

If you like football romance, some hockey, stepbrothers and found family you will love this.

Jameson was shocked to recognize the man as a high-school mate and took mercy on him and his child to feed them and see if he could help him get on his feet.

The story is interesting with a bit of suspense as a homeless man stalks Kenny Todd's son.  The romance is good as well.

It's a great romance with mystery and all the feels.

This is book 2 in the Carlise Canine series.

I loved loved this book. It was chock full of mystery and suspense and the mystery was played out the entire book and not shadowed by the romance. And the romance wasnt overwhelmed by the suspense either. The balance was amazing and having children and the dog as integral parts of the story rounded it out perfectly.

This is a great light romantic suspense and with all of Andrew Grey's books gets all the feels.
Highly recommend.

Cat's Review of The Drop by Elle Keaton @ellekeatonauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

Curiosity might just kill Gabriel Karne after all.

It’s only Monday morning and Gabriel Karne is already knee-deep in murder.

Roy Wilson, a Westfort pastor with a murky past, turns up dead. Was the man a bad guy turned good? Or was he, as Gabe and Elton suspect, still deeply embroiled in the illegal underbelly of Twana County?

Meanwhile, the unsolved murder of Calvin Perkins continues to nag at Casey Lundin. The unlikable man's killer remains at large, and the acting sheriff has no suspects or even a clue to move on. Casey vows to do his best to bring Calvin some sort of justice. Not even Calvin Perkins deserves to be executed and dumped into an unmarked grave.

As it turns out it may be curiosity that kills Casey, and Gabriel can’t rush to his rescue.

It will be fine, everything will be fine.

The Drop is book 4 in the Subtle Deceptions series. It is the final installment in grifter Gabriel Karne's pursuit of nearly legal happiness among the denizens of Heartstone and features: small-town mystery, amateur sleuthing, true love, found family, and a great deal of snark.

This is book 4 and the final installment of this series.

I've loved this series and hate to see it end. Hopefully, we havent saw the last of these guys though.

I love the banter and opposite attract aspect of this story. Casey bless him tried to not fall for Gabriel's charm but he did and now they are committed, have a house, a dog and cat, and lots of friends that are family.

Still though dead bodies seem as attracted to Gabe as Casey is and they get wrapped up in yet another mystery that ties up the lose ends to the previous ones. I do encourage you to start at the beginning however its written well enough you maybe able to follow along but with questions of what they are talking about.

I highly recommend this and can't wait for the audio to come out.

If you like grifters, park rangers, meddling old men, odd relatives, small-town mystery, amateur sleuthing, true love, found family, and a great deal of snark, this is for you.

Broken, broody, mysterious, swoony, inclusive; those are my tropes.

It’s my grandmother’s fault! Alice Lee bribed me to read with a Nancy Drew box set—and changed my life forever.

Love at first binge read.

By the time high school rolled around I’d already discovered romantic suspense and gothic romance, and I’ve never looked back. What can I say? My love of mystery and suspense started early and runs deep.

Is there anything better than a character who by the end of the story manages to redeem/heal themselves enough to fall in love? No, there isn’t.

Fast forward to 2017 when, with a shaky finger, I pressed the Publish button for the first time. I’ve never regretted it. I love writing and telling stories that others enjoy, it’s a dream come true.

What else? I love both cats and dogs. Star Wars and Star Trek. Pineapple on pizza, and have a cribbage habit my husband encourages. We live in a log cabin near Hood Canal in Washington State, if the sky is clear at night the milky way is visible. But most often I’m inside devouring yet another book!

Cat's Review of Knight (Redemption Road book 1) by DJ Jamison @author_dj_jamison @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @DJ_Jamison_ @TTCBooksandmore

They call me Knight because I’m always trying to save someone...

Unfortunately, I can’t even save myself most of the time. I didn’t save myself from getting involved with the wrong people, from taking the fall for a guy I thought I loved, or from being betrayed by him.

Redemption Road gives me a fresh start. a new family of men who know what it’s like to make mistakes, and a chance to meet a guy who actually deserves my heart. Only problem? He’s a doctor going places far from Riverton--and he’s way too smart to fall for a con like me.

Especially when my past shows up and tries to drag me back into the biker gang I thought I’d escaped.

There’s no running from them. I’ll have to fight if I want my freedom. And there’s a good chance I won’t come out of it alive.

This time, I’ll have to save myself. But as the other ex-cons at Redemption Road step up, I realize I’m not alone. I finally have people who care about me.

And my best friend’s brother, Aiden, tops that list. He’s not only my roommate and casual hookup. He’s becoming the center of my world.

But unless I end this, I can’t stay with him. I’d only put him in danger. So there’s really no choice.

I’m going to get my happy ending--or die trying

I've been looking forward to this new series and was not disappointed.

So, if you love DJ Jamison but want something with a little grit this series is for you.

I loved Flynn from Baileys book and was hoping for more Aiden.

This is Aiden Flynn's little brother and Knight Flynn's best friend.

I love the romance and humor but also the bit of drama and action.

If you love a good romance, small town, brother's best friend, tattoos, and some grit and action this is for you.

DJ Jamison writes romances about everyday life and extraordinary love featuring a variety of queer characters, from gay to bisexual to asexual. DJ grew up in the Midwest in a working-class family, and those influences can be found in her writing through characters coping with real-life problems: money troubles, workplace drama, family conflicts and, of course, falling in love. DJ spent more than a decade in the newspaper industry before chasing her first dream to write fiction. She spent a lifetime reading before that and continues to avidly devour her fellow authors’ books each night. She lives in Kansas with her husband, two sons, one snake, and a sadistic cat named Birdie.

Cat's Review of Return and Restore (Ebb and Flow book 4) by Karenna Colcroft @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

On full moon night, a stranger invades the Nova Scotia home of werewolf mates Quinn Boucher and Malachi Powers—a stranger who has victimized Quinn in the past. Malachi fights to defend his young mate, but the stranger isn’t acting of his own accord.

Secured in a cell at the home of the Anax, ruler of Canada’s werewolves, the intruder is murdered by one of the Anax’s guards. With his dying breath, he delivers a message to Quinn: Return to his home province of Manitoba to face his Alpha, or others will hunt him. Determined to protect himself and his mate, Quinn makes the journey with Malachi by his side.

In Manitoba, another attack is launched. Another intruder, imprisoned at the home of the Arkhon, leader of all packs in the province, is murdered. And when the Alpha behind it all reveals himself, Quinn can’t bear the horrifying truth. Even Malachi’s love might not be enough to pull him back from the brink.

This book contains intense depictions of flashbacks to sexual assault and other abuse; an extremely large age gap between partners (over 100 years; werewolves live a long time!) in a relationship in which one partner consensually commands the other; and discussions of death and grief. The book is set in the Real Werewolves Don't Eat Meat universe but is not a direct part of that series.

This story is full of suspense and romance.  I love seeing more of Quinn and Malachai and love Quinn's growth and finding his strength and confidence.

I love how the author shows his abuse but builds him up and doesn't make him a cowering victim.

I also like how the age gap is handled.

There is mystery and suspense as well, as we try to figure out who is coming for Quinn and why.

Theres plenty twists and turns.

I highly recommend it. Though you do need to read in order. It also sets up the next story in Real Werewolves series too and I can't wait.

Cat's Audiobook Review of Cheap Shot: An M/M Hockey Romance (Scoring Chances Series) Written by Brigham Vaughn Narrated by James Edward Jones @brighamvaughn @neonrainbow @tammystwocents X- @AuthorBVaughn @TTCBooksandmore

The last thing Luke Crawford needs is to fall in love with anyone …

He’s got a good thing going as the Boston Harriers’ enforcer, and he likes his classic rides and quiet house to himself. Getting off with strangers is fine, but nobody is going to come in and mess up his hard-won peace.

Least of all Vintage Jersey Guy, who comes to every home game to chirp Luke in the penalty box.

Sebastian Breckon left a thriving business in New York to help his sister, a single mom struggling to manage a demanding job and a kid with a chronic health condition.

However, Sebastian’s new flower shop in Boston isn’t taking off like he planned. Thankfully, he can blow off steam by chirping Crawford for the cheap shot he laid on Sebastian’s best friend and captain of the New York team.

Then Luke unexpectedly lands on Sebastian’s doorstep for a hookup and hatred turns to heat.

As injuries pile up, the team struggles to clinch a playoff spot, and Luke’s upcoming contract is suddenly on the line, Sebastian feels like the only solid thing in Luke’s life.

Except Luke doesn’t do romance. Especially not the white-picket-fence type.

But when Sebastian’s family’s struggles worsen right as the Harriers need Luke to play his best, he’ll have to decide if he’s ready to take the leap and convince Sebastian to build a future together.

This is book 5 in the Scoring Chances Series. Can be read out of order but you get a better understanding of all the characters if read in order.

Luke is one of the tough characters he's not the easiest to like but I love me a bad boy hard character.

I find it funny that his interest is vintage jersey heckled. The guy that's at all the games, roots for opposite team and loves chirping Luke in the penalty box. In the book we find out why and then in a strange twist they become I guess you'd say... F/buddies... they don't even like each other.

Sebastian has a sickly niece, and this is another twist that brings Luke and Sebastian into each other's orbits. Such a cute scene too.

I will say I totally loved both Luke and Sebastion and think this is my favorite book in this series and one of my favorite Brigham Vaughn couples. They just totally work and are not your perfect, conventional couple.

If you like Enemies to lovers, cute kids, found family, sports romance and hockey you will love this.

I've been waiting on Thad's story and wasn't disappointed.

I love that Thad isn't... how do I put it... perfect. He has a big history, is an ex-con and you do need to read this series in order for best understanding but at least his brother Gavin's book for sure.

I love how he is trying to rebuild a life but still makes a few not-so-great choices. I love a flawed MC. I also like Graham and love a gay for you or bi awakening. I liked how he just didn't suddenly say... oops I s I have a thing for Thad now I'm gay. I like how he fought it. Just feels more real.

Now grab the book and see if and how they get together and the road to it because there are several big pitfalls...like Graham's mother.
