Cat's Review of King of the Crease (The Comebacks) by A.J. Truman and M.A. Wardell @ajtruman_author @mawardellauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

The team's new goalie is a secret prince. Red, white, and royal WTF?!

As the Prince of Ardenia, I don’t want for anything – except freedom.

Freedom from bodyguards and media scrutiny. Freedom to love who I want without bringing shame to the throne.

So when I get a chance to live incognito while on a trip to America, I take it. It’ll be my royal rumspringa. I can be Nick, not Prince Nicholas.

Then I meet a plumber named Hank.

I’m instantly attracted – my kink for big-gutted American guys who drink beer fully activated. I join his local hockey team as their backup goalie…and secretly hope Hank and I can get freaky off the ice, too.

Yet in between one-on-one practices, wild bar crawls, and lazy afternoons texting about Christmas movies, our easy camaraderie deepens into crackling chemistry. The only thing standing in our way is the tiny matter of my true identity.

I’m due back in Ardenia on Christmas Eve, but the thought of getting on the palace jet without Hank makes me royally blue.

I’m not sure if the king — or the entire world — will get on board with the prince and the plumber. Can I get the crown and the guy?

I’m hoping for a Christmas miracle here.

King of the Crease is a funny, spicy MM romance featuring secret royalty, a lovable single dad, teammates-to-lovers magic, 90s references galore, and lots of Christmas charm. It’s book 3 in the Comebacks series but can be read as a standalone.

It’s book 3 in the Comebacks series but can be read as a standalone but I feel you'd enjoy it more read in order to know the other characters.

A few things I liked...the characters all of them, main, secondary and supporting are charming as all get out. And cute kids.

Usually, the royalty isn't high on my list as a favorite trope, but I adored Nick. AND last but not least though it's funny sweet and fluffy there is a slight bit of conflict (but isn't that true of all secret identities).

If you like funny, secret identities, a lovable single dad, teammates-to-lovers, 90s references galore, lots of Christmas charm, small town romance, older characters, royalty/ blue collar this is for you.

Cat's Review of The Banker and the Blue Collar Man : A Gay MM Cowboy Romance (Snow Creek Ranch) by Jackie North @neonrainbowarcreviews @jackienorth_author @tammystwocents X- @JackieNorthMM @TTCBooksandmore

Love can be found in unexpected places

As a ranch hand on a sprawling ranch in Colorado, Jake finds comfort in routine. Now, the ranch is being transformed into a dude ranch for troubled LGBTQ youths from the city. It’s a change Jake resists, fearing the loss of the ranch’s soul.

Dalton, a banker from Denver, arrives at the ranch to deliver three young men to partake in what the ranch now offers. He’d love to escape his chaotic life, but he feels out of place in the vast, open landscape and has no idea how to fit in, so he doesn’t plan on staying.

To Jake, Dalton is a city boy with tassels on his shoes. Plus, he’s afraid of horses. Jake is not interested, except Dalton is as pretty as a sunrise, with blue eyes reflecting the Colorado sky above, a combination almost impossible for Jake to resist.

To Dalton, Jake is a dusty cowboy with chiseled features and a distant air; he probably hates everyone and everything. Dalton does his best to stay out of Jake’s way.

Dalton attempts getting on a horse, in spite of his fears, and when he gets tossed off, it's Jake who hauls him to his feet, dusts him off, and teaches him how to ride.

Long days on the ranch lead to late-night talks under the stars. Slowly, they challenge each other. Dalton helps Jake see the beauty in change, while Jake offers Dalton a sense of belonging. Will they put aside their own fears and realize that love can be found in the most unexpected of places?

The Banker and the Blue Collar Man is a 90,000 word contemporary mm romance featuring opposites attract, slow burn, endless flirting, hurt/comfort, fish out of water, only one cot, city boy/country boy, a buckskin named Buddy, and, of course, s’mores over a campfire. Definite HEA.

I do recommend reading the first book in this series, because Lucas and Jesse are mentioned a lot.  However, you'll still enjoy just fine if you don't.

Here's where I usually say this was my favorite of the series. Not this time! This entire series is by skyscraper tier authors and all just as fabulous as the other.

I will however say. I'm partial to Jake and Dalton. Both their stories are sweet but you can't help but feel for Jake with his past.

It's a fabulous feel-good story with lots of heart, cool horses, grumpy sunshine, city boy country boy and of course cowboys.

Jackie North has been writing stories since grade school and her dream was to someday leave her corporate day job behind and travel the world. She also wanted to put her English degree to good use and write romance novels, because for years she’s had a never-ending movie of made-up love stories in her head that simply wouldn’t leave her alone.

Luckily, she discovered m/m romance and decided that men falling in love with other men was exactly what she wanted to write about. In this dazzling new world, she turned her grocery-store romance ideas around and is now putting them to paper as fast as her fingers can type. She creates characters who are a bit flawed and broken, who find themselves on the edge of society, and maybe a few who are a little bit lost, but who all deserve a happily ever after. (And she makes sure they get it!)

She likes long walks on the beach, the smell of lavender and rainstorms, and enjoys sleeping in on snowy mornings. She is especially fond of pizza and beer and, when time allows, long road trips with soda fountain drinks and rock and roll music. In her heart, there is peace to be found everywhere, but since in the real world this isn’t always true, Jackie writes for love.

If I Didn't Have You (The Last Best Place for Love Book 7) by Giulia Lagomarsino Book tour with Cat's Review @giulialagomarsinoauthor @enticingjourney @tammystwocents X- @crzybookladyluv @EJBookPromos @TTCBooksandmore

Title: If I Didn't Have You
Series: The Last Best Place for Love Book 7
Author: Giulia Lagomarsino
Genre: Small Town Romance
Tropes: Second Chance; Later in Life; Is It Over?; Rediscovering Love; First Love
Release Date: August 24, 2026

I lost my heart a long time ago to one woman.

The love of my life.

The mother of my children.

I could weather any storm with her by my side.

But I lost sight of that somewhere along the way.

Holding her in my arms as she nearly died tore me to shreds.

I vowed a long time ago that I would never let anything happen to her, and I failed.

And now she was ready to leave.

Not because I didn’t protect her, but because I lost sight of who we were.

That was all about to change.

Because if there was one thing I knew for certain, it was that life just wasn’t worth living without her by my side.

Wow this is very different than the rest of the series but still just as good.
I wasn't sure what to think when I found out it was Ben and Clara the parents of the Parkers and people in their 50's.  It's a lovely romance between established couples and about empty nest, life changes and finding oneself and each other again.
Beautifully written.

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Cat's Review of Saving Wyatt (Mayberry Protectors book 8) by Rhys Everly @rhyswritesromance @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @rhyswritesmm @TTCBooksandmore

My choices are catching up with me.

Two years ago, I assembled a team to bring down a crime lord. Now he's trying to take everything away from me.

Which is how I end up homeless and a murder suspect. And he won't stop there.

Suddenly, I'm forced to move in with my brother and his best friend.

Ari is a literal Greek god with the most beautiful smile and a heart of gold. Every time I'm around him I forget myself and this dirty, little secret I've been hiding all my life.

Which is why I should keep my distance.

I have a demon to face and I must face him alone before he destroys everything and everyone I love.

Saving Wyatt is a MM Ex-Navy SEAL best friend's brother, age gap romance set in the small island of Mayberry Holm. It features a closeted silver fox, a caring doctor with ghosts of his own, and a criminal who will stop at nothing. Comes with a guaranteed HEA and can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed if read in order.

Trigger warnings for homophobic language, violence, and death.

Cat gives this book 5 Meows with a 3 purr heat index...

This is last of the series, and I do feel it needs to be read in order. Each book has its own suspense and romance, but this one is the end of an ongoing arc.

I'll admit in a couple of the books I wasn't found of Wyatt. Read Grizzly Dare to see what I mean.

Having said that I was eager to see who his match would be and was pleasantly surprised.
This book does wrap up some things, opens a few doors for other stories and has loads of action and twists. There're a couple places you might want a tissue. Ari's secret broke my heart.

There is a lovely romance with the action and suspense and plenty spice for you spice lovers!
If you like Navy Seal's, small town romance, large age gaps, second chances, close proximity, out for you, brother's best friend, hurt/comfort, and romantic suspense this is for you.

Rhys Everly-Lawless is a hopeless romantic who loves happily-ever-afters.

Which would explain why he loves writing them.

When he’s not passionately typing out his next book, you can find him cuddling his dog, feeding his husband, or taking long walks letting those plot bunnies breed ferociously in his head.

He writes contemporary gay romances as Rhys Everly and LGBTQ+ urban fantasy and paranormal romances as Rhys Lawless.

Cat's Review of Real Chance by Elle Keaton @ellekeatonauthor @neonrainbowarcreviews @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

Ethan Moore said yes when he should’ve said no.

Now he’s committed to a weekend at a remote luxury hotel--a murder weekend, if you will. The only person on Ethan’s murder-list is his coworker who caught him unawares with this over-the-top shenanigan. Oh, and the man who broke his heart years ago, who just so happens to be his co-detective for the event.

If Jordan Ferguson thinks Ethan has forgiven and forgotten, he is wildly incorrect. Can two broken hearts meet again and maybe get it right this time?

Real Chance is novella set in the West Coast Forensics and Veiled Intentions universe, it may be read as a standalone but why not read all of them?

Cat gives this book 4 meows...

This is a very sweet short story that is set in the West Coast Forensics and Veiled Intentions universe, it can be read as a standalone.

However, I will warn you, once you read it you're going to fall in the the Elleiverse hole and want to read West Coast forensics so prepare your schedule (and wallet) because once you read those I see there's others before it and i can guarantee the Veiled Intentions series is fabulous.

Now having said that, this book is only a little over an hour. It's mostly a romance, a great second chance, nice and sweet with intriguing characters.

Broken, broody, mysterious, swoony, inclusive; those are my tropes.

It’s my grandmother’s fault! Alice Lee bribed me to read with a Nancy Drew box set—and changed my life forever.

Love at first binge read.

By the time high school rolled around I’d already discovered romantic suspense and gothic romance, and I’ve never looked back. What can I say? My love of mystery and suspense started early and runs deep.

Is there anything better than a character who by the end of the story manages to redeem/heal themselves enough to fall in love? No, there isn’t.

Fast forward to 2017 when, with a shaky finger, I pressed the Publish button for the first time. I’ve never regretted it. I love writing and telling stories that others enjoy, it’s a dream come true.

What else? I love both cats and dogs. Star Wars and Star Trek. Pineapple on pizza, and have a cribbage habit my husband encourages. We live in a log cabin near Hood Canal in Washington State, if the sky is clear at night the milky way is visible. But most often I’m inside devouring yet another book!
