Interview, Review & Giveaway. Author James Fuller.

Rising from the ashes of his home in Ever-Dale, Jamus Willms carves a brutal path of vengeance through the lands powerful nobility. His quest for justice seems to defy even death, as hatred fuels his journey - to the ruthless Lord that took everything from him as a simple reminder of the status quo. With the fires of that fateful night still burning in his mind, each step that takes him closer to reclaiming his daughter from the clutches of a psychopath blurs the line between man and monster - Jamus struggles to keep the flames that had disfigured his flesh from twisting his very soul forever.

Unforgivable part 1 is a dark and brutal tale of revenge. Having witnessed the brutal murder of his family and subsequent kidnapping of his young daughter Sophia, Jamus Willms leaves a trail of bodies in his wake as he attempts to quench his thirst for revenge and find his missing daughter.

Jamus's murderous rampage plays out in vivid detail and I found myself almost cheering him on.  Fuller's attention to detail is as gripping as it is gruesome and I enjoyed how he gave life to not only the main characters, but several side stories as well making this an enticing read. In the end will Jamus find peace when the last body falls, or will the blood on his hands destroy him?

Half a lifetime of running comes to a dead stop when Sofia stands as the last of her line. Her father and her innocence lie cold in the ground as she embarks on a crusade of treason, blood and justice.
Haunted by her dreams, Sofia inherits more than her father’s thirst for vengeance with the discovery of a miraculous herb among his possessions. However, she finds the peace offered by this infamous root comes at a crippling cost: an addiction that leaves her owing more than life is worth in the kingdom of Faer- Tri.
Indebted to gypsies, she enters a war in the capital city of Delmar where every shadow promises death by friend or foe alike. In the chaos, Sofia fights to separate reality from fantasy while only one thing remains certain... she will not rest until the king lies dead at her feet...

Unforgivable part 2 is even more delightfully twisted than the first!  We pick up several years after part 1; Jamus and Sophia have successfully evaded the bounty the king of Delmar had placed on their heads... until now.  When fate finally catches up with the Willms and Sophia has to bury her father, she sets her sights on the king and embarks on a journey of vengeance and a quest for blood.  And let me just say, she is wicked with her daggers!

Somewhere along the way the lines between reality and her nightmares begin to blurr causing Sofia to question her sanity.  When circumstance stands in the way of what she so desperately seeks, she will twist the truth to fit her version of it and innocents will fall in her wake.

Fuller delves even further into the back story of this short with the gypsies and their contribution to Sophia's journey.  Sophia Willms will avenge the family and the innocence that was stolen from her, but at what cost.

I thoroughly enjoyed both these books, Fullers descriptives of the Willms dark and twisted deeds on their subsequent bloody and murderous rampages is detailed and vivid.  Be warned these are not YA books, definitely Adult themed.  I give this series 4/5 stars, but that's just my two cents!

Author Bio:

James Fuller has enjoyed the fine art of writing for many years now, he's currently in the process of bringing out his new up and coming fantasy novel: Fall Of The King, the first book in which he hopes to be a series of nine books. James has also written movie scripts, short stories, and has had numerous pieces of poetry published. Through the years he has acquired quite a large fan base for his ...fiction not only through his blog and other various social networking websites such as Facebook but with other writers and artists of all sorts. James' other personal projects also include a comic series for mature readers; a tale of love, loss and vengeance which ignites in amazing emotion as James hopes to bring his character and story to life (collaborating with an artist.)

James has an absolute passion for bringing characters and situations to life with his detailed writing skills that really brings his books to life and makes his characters and their journeys so favourable. As an author he also goes above and beyond when it comes to writing battle scenes, the intricate design and explanations of fighting, not only in swordplay but also in tactics is one of James incredible expertise in which he delights in.

When James isn't on his computer writing his 2nd book of his fantasy series (Salvas) or writing short stories he enjoys recreational activities such a camping, fishing, hiking, and archery. Along with being an adventurous outdoors man James also spends many of his hours in a day as a devoted husband and father.

For those unfamiliar with your stories, Unforgivable I & II, how would you introduce them..

I would ask them if they like pure hate filled revenge? If they said yes, then i would suggest they read Chapter 1 of Unforgivable I, if they make it to the end of that chapter and aren't hooked then it likely isn't the story for them.

Do you have a particular routine when writing? Playlist, books and/or movies for research?

I am father to a two and a half year old my writing routine is scattered like crazy since i have to work around my son and what he wants and or will let me do. (laughs) I actually have very random sleeping habits (i am also a baker by trade) so i am up at all random hours of the night and more often then not when i wake up at 2am i will stay awake for an hour and write while the house is silent. I find a lot of times when i am writing certain scene in my books that i will put on movies that portray the emotions or action that i am writing about.

What are the Pro's and Con's to being an Indie Author?

There are many. Pro I am in control of everything, which is nice. Con i am in control of everything. I enjoy the freedom of being an Indie Author, but i do not the limitations that it has. Online my books sell well, but sadly i am only in a few dozen books stores because i have to talk to each book store and work out deals with them to carry my book in paperback which is a pain in the ass.

What has been the most interesting comment or review about your books?

The most interesting and mind blowing was two people now have told me my writing reminds them a lot like R.A. Salvatore and David Gemmell which is mind blowing to me since they are 2 of my favourite authors. To be said i am even remotely in their class range is the greatest compliment.

Tell us your latest news.

My latest news is Book 2 to my Fall Of A King series, Brothers of Blood is almost finished and hopefully will be out in the next 2 months. Also i am fingers deep in a new side project, my first horror book. It is a zombie apocalypse story based around the area i live and by the response i have gotten from the little bits i have released it will be well received. I can assure you it has a plot like no other zombie story you'll have heard of before.

Quick This OR That with author James Fuller...

I am both a day and night kind of person and often i will just not sleep for 2 or 3 days straight.

Spotlight, Inked Heat series book 1, Derek & Maks

*Warning, this book is NC17*

What happens when your single, forty-something mom brings home her new boy toy
and it’s the hot stud that gave you your first tattoo; the one you’ve been fantasizing
about for the last few weeks since turning 18? Will Bianca finally have sex with a real
man and not some clumsy high school boy? What will she do when presented with
not one, but two, hot muscular men who co-own the tattoo parlor? Turn the pages to
find out.

Excerpt from Inked Heat

It was Friday night and it was official; her life as she knew it was
over. Caput! Fini! Bianca Lucas sighed as she fidgeted in her seat at the dining
room table. Her mother Jane, or Jade as she’d officially changed it to, stood
there introducing her new boy toy, Derek. Derek was the tattooed 30-something
dream god who’d inked her first tattoo, a sunburst on her left ankle, a little over six
weeks ago when she turned 18. She’d been fantasizing about the hot hunk, ever
since. Bianca tried to sit there keeping her composure, but from her seated position
if she turned her head to look at Derek, she’d be eye level with the serious bulge at
his groin since he was still standing behind the chair next to hers and had not yet
taken his seat. How could she possibly maintain her demeanor if she was forced
to look at that mouthwatering package? Would her mother just get on with the
introductions and tell the walking sex god to sit...PLEASE!

Author's Bio:

An avid reader of paranormal and erotic romances since college, I have always dreamed of becoming an author. Joining a role play group gave me the window to write that I’d been looking for and the final push I needed to sit down and write my first short story.
My reading interests include works by Kate Douglas, Shayla Black, Lauren Dane, Sylvia Day, Elizabeth Amber, and Christine Feehan, to name a few. My TBR pile is quite large so when I'm not being a wife, mother, housekeeper, cook or chauffeur, you'll find me either writing or reading!
I'm finally a published author under the name Dee Licious and have almost completed my first shapeshifter story to be published under the name Harper Jewel. I'm thrilled to be a part of Horny Devil Publishing's stable of talented authors.

*Staccato Publishing Spotlight* Author Jay Mims

Dan Landis is a private investigator used to peeping in windows and taking awkward pictures to make a buck. This winter, to make a few more, he agreed to help out a local department store by taking a job in their Loss Prevention department.

Boring right? Wrong.

A local jewelry store gets robbed and then the bodies start piling up. Red suited, fur trimmed, white bearded bodies. And Dan's the one who keeps showing up at all the wrong places. It won't be long before Dan is spending the holiday behind bars if he can't figure this one out.

Check out this first installment in The Oncoming Storm Series.

Dan, Abbey, and Doc are all back and so is trouble in this second novel by cozy mystery author, Jay Mims.

Dan’s sister Jules, high profile criminal defense attorney, has asked for his help with a very dangerous client. Just as soon as Dan takes the case, Doc shows up poisoned on Dan’s doorstep and the only clue is a reference to an old movie, The Cult of Koo Kway.

Mr. Mims vision of PI Dan Landis, minus the handcuffs sadly.
Self professed Mama's boy and Private Investigator Extraordinaire; Mr. Landis enjoys midnight strolls in dark alleys, stun guns and handcuffs.  He also has an uncanny ability of being in the wrong place at the wrong time!  I recently had the pleasure of Mr. Landis's company, and all though it was brief, it was very enlightening.  Here is my Interview with Dan Landis.......

Good evening Mr. Landis, may I call you Dan?

Darling you can call me anything you’d like. All my friends call me Dan, and I absolutely would love for us to be friends. Special friends.

Thank's for stopping by today and visiting with us here at TTC; how was your Thanksgiving? I'm assuming you had a lovely family dinner with Jules and Gary, did Abbey join you as well?

You know, Thanksgiving is a big time for the family. Gary’s Mom lives nearby, and of course cooks a meal fit for a King. Usually we alternate whose house we go to. I say we, but seriously, no one is going to be coming to my little one-bedroom flat. This year we all had dinner at casa de la Jones. I brought rolls. Don’t get me wrong, I know my way around the kitchen, but most of my skills are dedicated to making breakfast, best served in bed. Leave ‘em with a smile, I say. And yes, Abbinator joined us…for Thanksgiving, not in bed. Well, maybe, but a gentleman never kisses and tells.

Are you currently philandering out your PI skills? If so, can you give us any details on the case?

I don’t know what you’ve heard about my PI skills, but I try to keep business and personal separate. But, as someone who is, shall we say, quite the philanderer, I’ve had no complaints. I even got a couple of “Thank You” notes, recently. It’s always nice knowing your hard work is appreciated.

My most recent case was interesting. See, here’s what had happened. There was this lady who we shall call Pam. And she was absolutely in love with this gentleman named Jim. Who…wait, I should state for the record Pam and Jim are fictional names, and I’m not actually working for Pam and Jim of The Office. But, Gentleman Jim had a dark past. Actually Past more like it. And dear, sweet Pam was worried that she was falling in love with a dangerous man.

That’s where yours truly came in. See, when you need a dangerous man handled, when you want dark secrets found, and you need to find out the truth. Well, you just call Dan Landis. He always delivers.

To make a long story short, our old friend Jim was married. Well, that’s not much of a dark secret, as far as I’m concerned. Happens to the best of us. What was interesting was that while he was married to Mrs. Jim, it turns out he was also married to Mrs. Jimmy. Guy was a, I kid you not, bigamist. Never did hear what happened to those crazy kids. Oh, spoke too soon. I was flipping through my mail while talking to you, and look at that, wedding invite. Guess Pam’s going to jump into that with both feet. Huh. Well, good for them.

Can I ask how Doc is doing, I assume he is well.

Doc’s always well. Without giving too much away, Doc has had some adventures of late. Some that my mouthpiece has yet to chronicle…there are still a few adventure’s Doc’s had that you haven’t heard about yet. Things get a little complicated for him, but that’s ok. If anyone can handle complicated, it’s Doc.

I would beat around the bush, but it's not my style. When are you going to make an honest woman out of Abbey?

That’s what I like about you Tam, you never beat around the bush. It’s your directness that really appeals to me. That and your sultry eyes. Anyone ever tell you that your eyes are mesmerizing? Well, our dear Abbey is quite a complicated lady. And frankly, you would not find a more straightforward and honest person in your life.

As far as Abbey and I…well, that’s a story that is still being told. For now, let’s just say we’re getting along like gasoline and matches.

Not to brag but my investigative skills, though not as awesome as yours, are beyond mediocre. I have it from a reliable source that you may be working a case soon with Gary, something involving a Cruise Ship. Details??

Ha ha ha, Gary still hasn’t let me live that one down. Oh, that’s a fun story, and kids, I promise it is LEGEN-wait for it, and I hope you’re not lactose intolerant because the next bit is-DAIRY! Yes, I just stole from NPH. But look, if you’re going to steal, it might as well be the best. You’ll have to wait a while to hear about that case, though. But Tam, I promise you’ll be the first to know about its release.

It's been a pleasure visiting with you today Mr. Landis, may I ask what can we expect from Dan Landis in 2013?

Well, you can expect my mouthpiece Jay Mims, to continue riding the gravy train that is my adventures. I think Gray Ghost Inn and Racing the Storm are both due out in 2013.

For me, you can expect the same quality of TLC you always get from Mama Landis’ baby boy. With just a touch of trouble.

Oh my, a Southern boy with charisma AND manners, I just may be in love!
Thank you so much to Mr. Landis for taking the time to sit down with me and answer my questions; I can't wait to see what 2013 brings for him.

Interview, Review and Giveaway. Molly McAdams, Taking Chances.

Eighteen year old Harper has grown up under her career Marine of a father's thumb. Ready to live life her own way and experience things she's only ever heard of from the jarheads in her father's unit; she's on her way to college at San Diego State University.

Thanks to her new roommate, Harper is introduced to a world of parties, gorgeous guys, family and emotions. Some she wasn't expecting yet, and others she never knew she was missing.

She finds herself being torn in two as she quickly falls in love with her boyfriend Brandon, and her roommate's brother Chase. Covered in tattoos, known for fighting in the Underground and ridiculously muscled...they're exactly what she was always warned to stay away from, but just what she needs. Despite their dangerous looks and histories, both adore and would do anything for Harper, including stepping back if it means she's happy.

Her first year away is turning out to be near perfect, but one weekend of giving in to heated passion will change everything.

Move over Nicholas Sparks, here comes Molly McAdams!  I loved this book, devoured it in one 8 hour setting, up until 4AM, walking into walls while trying to read and walk at the same time.  It's a very poignant novel that redefines the term "what if".  What would you do if your life was turned upside down and torn apart?  What if happiness presented itself to you again  as a familiar stranger?  Would you take a chance?

Having lived a sheltered life as a military brat, Harper has moved away from home for college.  She immediately grabs a best friend, meets not one but two HAWT young men and almost as quickly falls in love. This story centers around Harper, Chase and Brandon in a love triangle the likes of which I've never read.  What will happen when Harper falls in love with both men?  Drama and heartache ensue; as well as love, understanding and bonds that are not easily broken.

These characters have a depth to them that will break your heart, as both men fall in love with Harper and both are just as willing to walk away as long as she's happy.  McAdams delivers a fantastic novel with a realistic storyline that will keep you entranced until the very end.  She perfectly balances the heartache with love, and even though there is some mysery, there is triumph as well.  I really loved how McAdams pulled me into her story and I felt invested in these characters.  This book will have you laughing one minute, then crying, then laughing again.  In the literary world that seems to cater to paranormal as of late, it's refreshing to read this tragically beautiful lovestory, that truely does have a happy ending. In the end Harper learns that life is all about Taking Chances.

If you like Nicholas Sparks you'll love Molly McAdams.

I give this one 5/5 if I could, I'd give it 10, but that's just my two cents.

Author of Taking Chances & From Ashes. Master of movie quote battles and lover of fried pickles...tornados? Not so much!  Grew up in California but now live in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with my husband and furry daughter. Some of my hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling and long walks on the beach…which roughly translates to being a homebody with the hubby and dishing out movie quotes. When I'm not at work, I can be found hiding out in my bedroom surrounded by my laptop, cell, Kindle and fighting over the TV remote. I have a weakness for crude-humored movies, fried pickles and love curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm...or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way I can pretend they aren't really happening.

I can't say enough good things about this book, I had to take the time to visit with the author of this fantastic story.  Here is my quick Q&A with Molly McAdams author of Taking Chance...

*For those who are unfamiliar with your novel; Taking Chances, how would you introduce it?
It's a story about a sheltered girl, Harper, that grew up with only her father, a career Marine. She leaves for college and with the help of her new roommate, Bree, she is introduced to boys, parties, and what life with a real family is like. She quickly falls in love with her boyfriend, Brandon; and Bree's brother, Chase. Whom also happens to be Brandon's housemate. Harper is torn in two as her love for each guy grows, and after one night of giving in to heated passion, changes all of their lives, forever.
*Where were you born and where do you call home?
I was born and raised in Bakersfield, CA; and for the last 4.5 years I've been living in Austin, TX.
*What was your inspiration for Taking Chances?
Actually, it was a dream I had! All of my books come from different dreams that I've had. Every now and then, I'll have incredibly vivid dreams, the kind where I can't stop thinking about it for days at a time! I usually type up the dream in an email, send it to myself and try to forget it. But every time I find myself wondering what would have happened if I hadn't woken up when I did, and what could have happened before the dream started
*What are the Pro’s and Con’s to being an Indie Author?
Pro: You work at your own pace and publish at your own pace. You get more royalties from your books and get paid more often.
Con: You don't have the backup and support of a publishing house. It's harder to get your books in print and in stores. You have to do all your own marketing and publicity.
*What was the first thing you did when you got the news your book was being published?
When my agent and I decided to take the offer from HarperCollins, I really wish I could say I did something amazing or fun. But really I just sat there in shock for about three hours. I remember my boss and my family all asking: Aren't you so excited!? And I was but all I could seem to do was sit there with wide eyes, dropped jaw, and nod my head. HAHA.
*Whom in your life would you say has influenced you the most with writing?
I wouldn't say there was any one person I can think of that influenced me. I started doing this for me, just to get the stories out of my head. Deciding to publish came once I already had Taking Chances completed and it was just my husband and myself that really knew about it. BUT there are a few authors that have really been there for me when I had questions and I am so grateful for them: Jillian Dodd, Teresa Mummert and A.L. Jackson. THANK YOU LADIES!
*What has been the most interesting comment (or review) about your book?
HA! ohhhhh dear. Interesting? Um, I had a couple people tell me I was seriously disturbed for having Harper and her dad have a Dom/sub relationship. I remember just going WHAT?! WHOA - JUST….WHAT!?!?! I guess the fact that she calls him "sir" didn't fly well with a few avid BDSM readers. But it wasn't like that at all! Harper's dad is a career Marine. His Marines would only refer to him as "Sir" or his rank…it's a term of respect, and with the way Harper was raised, it's natural for her to only be allowed to call him what his Marines called him. I do have to say the best comment I've gotten was a reader telling me Taking Chances was the best heartache she'd ever had.
*Who is YOUR favorite Author?
I unfortunately don't have just 1. I have a top 5 and in no particular order they are: Nicholas Sparks, Stephenie Meyer, P.C. Cast, A.L. Jackson and R.L. Mathewson. LOVE LOVE LOVE them.
*What are you reading right now?
I'm reading Apollyon by Jennifer L. Armentrout! So so excited she asked me to read an ARC of it.
*Tell us your latest news.
I just finished writing Stealing Harper (Spring/Summer 2013), Chase's POV from Taking Chances; and began on a new book that will be coming out December 2013. And my second novel From Ashes will be coming out December 11th. I'm so excited to hear what everyone thinks about it!

** UPDATE, THE FIRST 10 COMMENTS WILL GET A FREE EBOOK COPY OF SECOND SIGHT, EVERY OTHER COMMENT WILL BE ENTERED INTO A DRAWING FOR 6 BOOKMARKS, A NECKLACE AND A FREE EBOOK COPY**
** Warning this book is NC17 **

Rebecca Sauter is a proud military police officer with a secret; she’s clairvoyant. Her ex-Marine father can’t understand why she won’t try harder for a commission but for Becca, hiding among the greater mass of enlisted men and women is safer.

One night on a run she encounters a terrifying man and his beastly dogs; in her attempts to defend herself she hits her head and passes out. When she wakes up in the hospital she’s being collected by a handsome but rude officer.

Humans are fragile. That has been Captain Michael Rossi’s mantra since his first days as a vampire in 1944. Now Admiral Black has given a post within his elite unit to a human woman solely because she has “the sight”. Michael’s fears that she will bring harm to his men are soon eclipsed by his realization that it is her who might suffer should the admiral decide she is a poor fit.

Dive into this new world with HK Savage’s new cast of characters in a series Paranormal Book Club is already calling “Perfect!”

Savage has yet another hit on her hands!  This accomplished YA author's debut into the Adult PNR genre will not dissapoint.  This is a sexy, steamy read with lots of action and suspense.  I second PBC's thoughts, Perfect!

Rebecca Sauter has premonition dreams that have haunted her for her entire life.  Having learned early on how people treat her differently if they know her secret, she has kept it guarded for the majority of her life.  Untrusting and Insecure, Becca chooses to lead a typically mundane lifestyle flying under the radar, so to speak.  Michael Rossi is a Captain in Admiral Blacks Elite group of extraordinary soldiers, he is also a vampire.  With secrets of his own locked away, Michael believes human's are fragile and have no place within the elite group he leads.

When the cunning and devious Admiral Black sets his sights on Becca, her world is turned upside down quite literally overnight.  But Michael doesn't trust her or her abilities, the instant attraction and need to protect the petitie soldier aren't helping to quiet his internal fears.  Forced to trust in each other and work together will the connection they seem to share, not to mention the sexual tension, bring them closer together or, tear them apart.

As the bond between this unlikely pair grows and changes and an evil emerges that threatens humans and vampires alike, will Becca be able to control her Second Sight.  Just when you think you know where this story is going Savage takes a sharp right turn and throws a few twists in there for good measure.  Add to that a twist in Becca's ability that no-one saw coming and the intrigue ensues!

Fans of paranormal, hot brooding leading men and action packed steamy romance will love this book!  There is something for everyone.  I give it 5/5 but that's just my two cents.

In celebration of the release of Second Sight, HK Savage is offering up a free ebook copy to each person that comments on this post, today only.  Also up for grabs is a Second Sight bottle cap necklace (the winner will be chosen tomorrow by random.org from the comments).

*STACCATO PUBLISHING SPOTLIGHT* Author Jacinta Maree

Rachael has traveled to Whitehaven to visit her father, a trek she can not help but dread given his recent descent into madness. Upon her arrival she realizes his deterioration has not only been mental, it’s been physical as well. His death comes as no surprise, but what she discovers soon after, is shocking when his burden becomes hers.

Lock is a banished spirit who must attach himself to a human host in order to hide from those who would drag him back to hell to be destroyed. When he meets Rachael he finds more than a host, he finds an ally.

Together they must defeat each of the seven sins in order to guarantee Lock's safe passage into the Third Realm, a loophole in creation that would allow him to escape hell and have peace at long last. Through their unlikely friendship, other banished spirits flock to them in hopes of a peace they hadn't dreamt possible.

Maree has taken the concept of demon possession to a new level with My Demonic Ghost.  Dark and captivating as we follow the story of 15 year old Rachael Hastings (the host) and Lock (her demon).

When Rachael travels to Whitehaven to visit her ailing father who dies soon after she unwittingly becomes her father's demons new host.  Lock links himself to her with a kiss, wrapping her in chains and tying her soul to him.  As a banished spirit he must feed off a human host to remain in our realm.  In a welcomed twist, the pair become more dependent on each other as their feelings for each other grow stronger, all the while their journey takes them to the depths of hell to face the 7 deadly sins.

Maree's imagery is vivid and creative and you are transformed into this world alongside Rachael and Lock.  I loved the hierarchy of the realms with the Royals, different levels of spirits and the Hunters.  The character's had depth and realism to them even if most of them were demons or spirits.  I also liked that the storyline was complex and detailed, giving us history on the different spirits and insight into their current names.  Linking the 7 deadly sins into the story was pure genius right down to the differing eye color of the spirits that linked beautifully with their unique names and backgrounds.

In a race against time Rachael and Lock along with several other spirits and their hosts attempt to defeat the sins, therefore gaining access to the third realm where Lock's soul can be safe from the Hunter's and he can find peace.  In the end as the Hunter's close in, what will Lock sacrafice for Rachael?

I was hooked from the first page and I anxiously await the sequel, Maree leaves us with an unexpected twist at the end, I must know what the future will hold for Lock and Rachael!
4/5 stars, definitely recommend this book, but that's just my two cents!

Self confessed chocaholic, Jacinta was born and raised in Melbourne Australia with her loving family of five. Even as a child Jacinta had an itch to write. Writing was the one constant hobby she clung to, also trying her hand at piano, flute, tennis, horseback riding and drama.

Jacinta works full time in the family business and spends her afternoons either playing basketball, reading, writing or hanging out with friends. She is always happy to try something new; getting her real estate license, practicing ninjitshu, Zumba and parkour to name a few.

For her future, Jacinta sees herself writing. It is a large part of her identity and something she hopes to continue. Aside from her love of stories she loves Japan and its unique and beautiful culture and history. From their delicious sushi dishes right down to their wooden sandals and kimonos. She is also a huge cat person and loves to snuggle up in front of the fire for a good movie or book. Her favorite genres are paranormal and fantasy but she also loves anything written by thriller writer, Stephen King.

I had to have a few minutes inside the mind of this creative author; here is my interview with Jacinta Maree author of My Demonic Ghost...........

*Tell us a bit about yourself.

Currently I am sitting in a hotel room in Queensland, finally letting my ghoulish white skin see sunlight so I am pretty happy at the moment. I am Australian and a middle child in a family of five. I have an awesome party trick which lets me touch my tongue to my nose, also helpful when there is food on my face and my hands are full. I LOVE anything and everything oriental. I have a strange obsession with collecting tea sets and teapots as well as unique chopsticks. I've also turned myself into an art collector, too bad I've run out of wall spaces to hang the pieces. I am a cat person and I love playing video games. I am not afraid of spiders or snakes but i am terrified of bees and wasps. I have been bungee jumping in New Zealand, recently returned from Japan back in July and my next travel destination is Malaysia in January and Kansas City in May.

*Where were you born and where do you call home?

I was born and raised in Melbourne Australia. Regardless of where I go or where I end up, that will always be my home. I lived in my current house for my whole life.

*What was your inspiration for My Demonic Ghost?

A few things triggered My Demonic Ghost, mostly I was getting a bit tired of the same story line where Angels = good and demons = bad. I wanted to write from the perspective of a so called 'monster', and I wanted to challenge the readers into cheering on the bad guys. It wasn't as simple switching the roles around so Demons are human loving, they have both good and bad qualities in them just like the 'angels' or hunters. I've tried to make them human I guess. It was Descartes the philosopher who made me start questioning the likely hood of a 'demon god' and a afterlife full of corruption with his teachings of the consciousness.

*For those who are unfamiliar with your novel, how would you introduce it?

Casper the not so friendly and misunderstand ghost with some bad ass Deadly Sins thrown in. It's a world where, like it or not, you are dragged into a losing battle between the Banished Spirits (demonic ghosts) and the Hunters (angelic spirits). With no choice but to go along with the demonic ghost's demands, you start to unravel the awful truth about the afterlife. It's an upside down road that makes you want the demons to win.

*What are the Pro's and Con's to being a published Author?

Pros are most definitely the amazing people you get to meet. Every single person who I've met since I started up with Staccato have been so kind to me and extremely friendly. I honestly don't have any cons, sure it can be scary to have your hard work thrown out there into the big scary world of publishing but in return you get to learn and develop more as a writer and really come to understand what other amazing works and authors are out there. If anything, it's motivating to become better.

*What was the first thing you did when you got the news My Demonic Ghost was being published?

I was so shocked when I found out the first thing I did was chase down my father. I was at work, looking over my emails when I got the wonderful news and he was just about to walk out the door. I could barely catch my breath once I caught up to him and then I just started to cry. It was a good couple of minutes before I could talk properly. After that I was very secretive about it, it was one of those moments when I was scared I was going to wake up and everything was going to just be a dream. It wasn't till the front cover came through that it finally kicked in that this was seriously happening.

*Whom in your life would you say has influenced you the most?

Obviously my parents are a huge influence, they are kind, hard working, ambitious and have taught me to reach for my dreams. Writing was just something I did on my own, I would tell only my parents about my books and had to almost hold them down to listen to every single one of my silly stories. I wrote so many of them it wasn't funny. They taught me to believe in myself.

*What has been the most interesting comment (or review) about your book?

I always find it so interesting when I read over people's reviews because everyone is different. Some people would tell me how scary the creature Mother was, others would comment about the love between Rachael and Lock. At one point I had to laugh when a young girl sent me a comment saying she wished to harbor a banished spirit one day. I hadn't really thought about what it would be like if I (not Rachael) had a ghost attached to me. I didn't know what I would do. And not just a ghost either, but a Banished one with the spiritual ability to summon magic and mind control. I admit, I'll be too scared to do anything.

*Who is YOUR favorite Author?

Brent Weeks and Stephen King, hands down. Though now that I am meeting more and more new authors I feel like my list to growing everyday.

*What are you reading right now?

Right now I am reading The Reaping by Leighton M, which I am absolutely loving at the moment.

*What research did you do while writing this story?

During the time I was writing My Demonic Ghost, I was learning about Descartes Inferno and studying up on other afterlife myths. A large chunk of the book is created from my own imagination, giving ghosts and spirits new faces, new duties and classifications. I wanted to step back and just ask the big question, is the afterlife really like anything we've been taught through personal religions? Studying Philosophy really helped open my eyes to the infinite possibilities about the afterlife. Maybe things aren't just black and white but also have a cloudy grey area.

*Tell us your latest news.

Sticking to the topic of writing, I've just completed My Demonic Ghost - The Reapers which is Book Two. I plan on releasing three books in the Demonic Ghost series, but the more and more I dive into their world the more I learn about the characters, their struggles and their inner ambitions. A part of me fears that there may even be a book four if I don't plan it properly. Aside from paranormal romance I want to branch out and write different genres, I want to try out sci-fi, high fantasy, dystopian and many others. In my little planner book that I carry with me everywhere there are so many difference ideas and plots it's now just a matter of picking which one to start.
