This is the debut novel for Eckrich and it did not disappoint. With an engaging storyline and relatable characters this one is a page turner. Equal parts action, intrigue, mystery and romance to keep you reading and leave you wanting more in the end.

Allie Anderson is telekinetic, her father left her and her mother when she was young; sadly her mother became an alcoholic and abandoned her as well. Ethan Bradley is gorgeous and totally into Allie, just his touch seems to have a calming affect on her. He also happens to be immortal, and a relationship with Allie who is human is forbidden. As the bullying Allie has endured for years escalates, Ethan is there to protect her, but then he pushes her away every chance he gets.

Unable to stay away Ethan finally succumbs to his love for Allie, and just as these two are coming together a darker entity will try to tear them apart. Allie will have to learn to control her ability if she’s going to not only save Ethan, but her on life as well.

There isn’t really an ending to this book, with so many unanswered questions I’m anxious for a sequel. I give this one 4/5, but that’s just my two cents.

Character interview with Raven from Opposites and Giveaway

Opposites is  New Adult Dystopian novel releasing in May 2013.

In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.

In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.

Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests these boundaries, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.

Raven is a pivotal character within the world that is Opposites. Raven is tall with broad shoulders, blue eyes and black hair with purple streaks. The Priest of The Order he is passionate, loyal and slightly eccentric. He was born into House Gilley but now calls House Gaeland home.
He's very versatile in his activities with knowledge of swords, martial arts, fencing, the violin and (of course) the bible.

Tell us about your parents.
My father’s were Gabriel and Kirian’s guards, and my grandparents and biological mother were French. My father’s left their posts in the guard to devote their time to my studies and training once they realized I could be groomed for a position within The Order. They were fun loving yet hard working. Family always came first for us.
My mother’s instilled a great respect of heritage and a love of nature in me. One of my mother’s is a Seer, when my mom was pregnant she had a vision of a child that was watched over by a Raven, so they decided to name me Raven. Raven’s are also considered to be a prophet bird, so my name is surely fitting.
What’s your favorite color?
Black, Black, purple and … oh, yes, did I mention black??
How many tatoo’s do you have? What and where are they?
Four.  The celtic cross on my neck, the Raven across my shoulder blades and upper back, a celtic armband and one on my thigh that I’m not at liberty to discuss at this time.
Whom in your life would you say has influenced you most?
Marcus has been a huge inspiration in my life. I began my training with him when I was 13 so he was and is my mentor and teacher. He is fluent in all aspects of The Order and he can recite the bible cover to cover. And Rian has been a surrogate father to me, he is someone that is compassionate and embodies the best of what it means to be human.
Are you the top or the bottom?
Next question.
What’s your favorite Novel?
I found this book in the church archives that once belonged to Dr. Anthony Smith. He had a collection of what he referred to as “Pop culture reads”. There was a series called Twilight about creatures called vampires that sparkled. It struck my fancy.
Is Tanis a good kisser?
A Raven doesn’t kiss and tell… but, oh God YES!
Before meeting Tanis, was there someone else that you could have seen yourself in a relationship with?
Early on I must admit a slight attraction to Aiyan, but as he got older and developed his unique “personality” the attraction diminished. Then there was Ian. He was always the quiet, reserved type, much like myself. Ian and I are both originally from House Gilley and share a lot of fond memories but at the end of the day, we are better off as friends. Besides, no one gets my blood pumping quite like Tanis.
Which would you rather have in your hand; a bible, a sword or your violin?
I know the bible by heart, and while I must admit wielding a sword is very invigorating, music is one of the most profound forms of prayer. So I will have to go with my violin.
Last question… who’s your favorite twin? Aiya or Aiyan??
I’m sorry, I refuse to answer that question on the grounds in may incriminate me in further conversations with other parties.

Thank you Raven for visiting with us today! Be sure to enter the giveaway for a chance to win an Opposites book thong and a bookmark signed by Raven and Author TM Smith.

Tam’s Two Cents This or That Interview with author Kristen DaRay
Pen OR Pencil-
Pen for sure! When I write in pen it feels different. I think it writes
smoother, and I like that.
Book OR Ebook-
I really like both, but I prefer a hard copy if it is a book I really enjoy. I
live in an apartment and already had to get rid of a lot of books, so I can’t always go out
and buy a hard copy of everything. Instead, I’ll read the e-book, and if I really liked it, I’ll
buy the hard copy.
Day OR Night-
Hmmmm. This is a tough one! I love the warmth of the sun, but I love the
beauty of the stars. In my opinion you can’t have one without the other, so I am going to
cheat and say both!
Black OR White-
White. It’s even the color of my laptop.
Coke OR Pepsi-
Coke. I really, really cannot stand Pepsi. Sorry Pepsi lovers!
Hotdogs OR Hamburgers-
Burger but only if it is homemade. I don’t care too much for
fast food burgers anymore. Otherwise, get me a hot dog.
Country OR Top 40-
Top 40. But really, I don’t even listen to the radio too much anymore-
too much dub step.
Vampires OR Werewolves-
Vamps would probably win my favor, because I read a lot
more vampire novels. I even watched Buffy and Angel religiously. It all started with
Anne Rice for me, though.

Into the Light blog tour Review, Playlist & Giveaway

Into the Light, book 2 in The Admiral's Elite.

A vicious serial killer is on the loose in Wisconsin and it's up to the Admiral's Elite to stop him. Admiral Black's second in command, Captain Michael Rossi, has been tasked with finding out who or what the killer is and put an end to his reign of
bloodshed while avoiding some pitfalls of his own. Like hiding the fact that he's falling in love with Becca from the admiral who would be sure to use it against them. Ghosts from Gabrielle's past threaten her place with her unit and Ryan's bed.

Local police are puzzled and the town is terrified. The Admiral's Elite must find a killer, stop him without anyone finding out their true identities, and not be torn apart in the process.

My review:
The highly anticipated sequel to Second Sight throws us right back into the action with Becca and Michael (aka Captain Yummy!) along with Gabby and Ryan when they are called to Wisconsin to catch a serial killer. Admiral Black's elite team of vampire, werewolves and a force of nature that holds the powers of premonition are the only hope of catching whoever, or whatever, it is that's wreaking havoc.

It's getting harder for Michael to hide his growing love for Becca from the admiral though. That coupled with something troubling from Gabby's past and Becca's inability to control her powers as of late put not only their mission, but their lives at stake. Will the admiral's motley crew be able to stop the killer? Or will personal demons and emotions stop them from completing the mission?

Action packed and emotionally charged, Into the Light does not disappoint. Savage has yet another hit on her hands! She has taken the ages old story of good vs evil and given it her own PNR twist. And as if we could like Admiral Black (whom I've nicknamed Sir Jackass!) any less, he goes above and beyond normal dislike in this book. There was a skoch bit of angst with this book that I didn't much care for, but overall I loved the storyline and character development. We delve deeper into the inner workings of all four as a team, but we also delve into their personal relationships as well.

I give this one 4.5/5 stars and I highly recommend this series to any fans of the paranormal, romance, vampires, werewolves and mystery reads.

Author bio: HK Savage has been a voracious reader of anything she could get her hands on going back to the second grade when she would set her alarm two hours early to read before school. Her passion for the written word has continued and flowed into writing going back nearly as far. Her books have fans in twenty countries on six continents with hopes of attracting attention on Antarctica if for no other reason than to check a box.
Currently, HK is a mother, wife and black belt in Karate as well as an avid dressage rider. Her three dogs: a Doberman puppy and two ancient Doxies keep her busy when she is not writing or working. HK has been an editor for several newsletters over the years, her favorite being for Heifer International where her ideas were put into effect and
complimented by those on high. Currently her editing skills, honed for nearly a decade in advertising media, have been focused on her peers and clients in the writing world as Founder and Editor in Chief of Staccato Publishing and
new digital imprint, Darkest Night Publishing.
Paranormal is a favorite genre as well as science fiction and the possibilities we have not yet realized. Her favorite premise: "what if?"

What songs are on my Playlist? Well, I do have to listen to music pretty much all the time. My writing playlist is also my walking playlist (I use another for my running list) because that is when I get myself “in the mood” to write.
There are over 300 songs on that list so I’ll give you some of my faves:
Snow Patrol’s entire 100 Million Stars cd was what started The Empath Trilogy. Since then I still listen to it as well as Great Big Sea and Young Dubliners routinely but have added some others. Some of my faves for action scenes are Sleigh Bells Kids and
Rill Rill. Otherwise, generally I like :
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
Safe and Sound by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars
This Isn’t Everything You Are by Snow Patrol
Sex on Fire by Kings of Leon
Love the Way You Lie by Eminem
Evanescence- anything with Amy Lee really
Never Say Never by The Fray
Bad Things by Jace Everett
And several Kasabian songs
There are a ton more but these tend to the ones I click back to the most right now.

A huge thank you to HK Savage for allowing us to host her tour!

With a love of all things art, she saw herself moving to New York and pursuing her passion as an artist. But all that changed on October 10th 2002 when she met the love of her life. Her dreams diverged and after marrying her high school sweetheart and having two beautiful children, she realized she missed her creative side.
Growing up alongside the Harry Potter series, Candace found herself missing the epicosity of a story that pulls you in and won't let you go. In 2009, she began dreaming up characters that would mold her first novel. Through lunch breaks and late nights, after putting her kids to bed, she built a world where she could escape the ever-pressing days of an eight to five Purgatory. She found her calling in life and knew this was more than dancing could've ever meant to her.
Once complete in 2010, she began the grueling process of finding a publisher. With relentless determination, she was finally able to realize her dream in December of 2011 when 48fourteen offered her a publishing contract. With a HUGE yes and a happy dance, she now continues her Trilogy.

Once you’ve been touched by darkness, it never leaves you…
Abandoned by her parents as an infant; seventeen year old Hannah spent her childhood wading through countless foster families until being adopted by the Whitmans three years ago.
Unfortunately, Atlanta’s high society wasn’t quite ready for Hannah…or the strange events that plague her.

Chilling visions of murder, unexplained hallucinations, and dark, mysterious guy who haunts her nightmares all culminate to set in motion a journey of self-discovery that will challenge everything she’s ever believed; not to mention her sanity.
Sent to live at The House of Lorelei on Bald Head Island, NC for ‘kids like her’, Hannah quickly realizes things are not what they seem. Her fellow ‘disturbed’ teens are actually the descendants of mythical Sea Gods and Goddesses. And so is she.
But when Finn, the ghost from her dreams, appears in the flesh; her nightmares become reality and her dark visions begin coming true. Inexplicably drawn to him, she can’t deny the dangerous hold he has on her heart. The deadly secrets he harbors will ultimately test her courage and push the boundaries of her love.
She must decide if she is ready to embrace the ancient legend she is prophesied to be a part of. The fate of all the descendants will forever depend upon it.

Once the details of Finn’s own startling destiny are revealed, the dangerous secrets he’s been hiding will threaten the very love Stasia believed to be indestructible. The essence of who we are lies not in what we have, but in what we are willing to give up. Because in the end, Time and Tide wait for no one.
After sacrificing all that she had, the evil princess of the Underworld is still successful in her bid to tear Finn from Stasia’s life. In the midst of her search to reclaim him, Stasia is summoned to the island nation of Cyprus to take part in an age-old ritual; unveiling the missing pieces of her ancestry and re-igniting an ancient war. As she struggles to both save Finn’s soul and free Carmen’s mind, Stasia’s bravery and determination will be pushed to its breaking point. A dark storm is forming on the horizon, and the forces who are vying to destroy her may be much closer than she thinks. Destiny weaves a sticky web of evil, betrayal, and revenge that can only be undone by the purity of love and the soul’s unyielding will to survive. In the last installment of the Daughters of the Sea trilogy, the past will collide with the present as Stasia’s future hangs in the balance. The prophecy that paved the way for her new life may indeed be the very thing that strips her of the ones she loves the most.

About The Author: I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).

I am the author of the DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA trilogy, which includes FORSAKEN, AWAKEN, and CHOSEN (Winter 2012). I love all books, but really enjoy writing young adult, paranormal romances. I've loved to write for as long as I can remember. My first published work was my poem RED in second grade (you guessed it - it was a poem about the color red - life altering, I know) that won me 5 gold stars and a spot in my elementary school's poetry book. That's when my addiction to the written word officially began. I was the only kid in fifth grade that actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Go ahead and laugh – it’s okay.
When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband. I graduated from Appalachian State University and dream of becoming a full time novelist.

Here is an excerpt from book 3, Chosen...
The sea’s crashing waves felt like a soft blanket on a cool night, surrounding my heart
and energizing my muscles. I found the moonstone still in my hand and shoved it into my jeans
pocket before diving underwater; swimming as fast as I could. I propelled myself through the
water with incredible force and speed, surprising even myself. As the rain fell on the surface, a
frenzy of energy swirled around me. Schools of fish suddenly came alive, darting back in forth
with the cadence of the rain above. It was as if the sea was feeding off of the turbulent energy
from above. I pulled from it and let it take over, filling every fiber of my being with its strength.
As the bottom changed from sandy to rocky, I knew I was close. Allowing my instinct to
guide me, I darted toward shore. The grass covering the boulders below danced in the chaotic
rhythm of the waves and I could feel the excitement every living being fell victim to at the
falling rain. It was if the sea was celebrating. Celebrating a part of itself returning after a long
journey.
As I made my way on shore, I realized I had lost my shoes at some point during my
swim. I clamored over the rocky shoreline that swept the area. The pouring rain made it
impossible to see and even more impossible to walk. It hadn’t been raining in my vision, but
what about when the rain let up? What about tomorrow? The next day? I strained to remember
if there was any trace of rain in my vision, but I couldn’t remember. The more time that went
by, the hazier the memory of my visions became.
My feet slipped on the slippery rocks of the beach and I tumbled sideways, landing hard
on my side and scraping my leg. I pushed myself back up and continued, only to slip again.
This time a pair of arms caught me mid-fall, securing me and softening the landing as we both
tumbled onto the rocks. I felt the pain of several more bruises as my legs slammed into a couple
sharp ones.
“Nice night for a swim,” Finn’s sarcastic voice tickled my ear, momentarily hypnotizing
me.
“Let me go, I have to find them!” I yelled back at him, attempting to stand back up.
Unfortunately, he easily overpowered my efforts.
“You’re not finding anybody in this weather.”
“I have to try!” I struggled against his strong arms to no avail.
“Stasia, calm down.”
“I’ll calm down when I figure out why the hell I keep having visions that don’t make
sense!” I yelled at him, tears burning behind my eyes. “I have to watch a bunch of people have
their souls ripped out of their bodies with no clue as to who they are, where they are, or most
importantly when they are!”
“Just because you have a vision about something doesn’t mean you are supposed to hunt
to the ends of the earth to find it and prevent it,” he said calmly. “Some things are meant to
happen. Fate and destiny are stronger than any vision, any essence, or any ability.”
“Then why do I have them? Why can’t I have a vision about something good? Why do I
have to watch people die!?”
“It just takes time-“
“I don’t have time!” I yelled back at him. “All of this! You’ve had time to figure all of
this out! I’ve had months, Finn! Months! And each day I’m closer to my eighteenth birthday.
Each day I’m closer to confronting Keto. Each day I’m closer to-“
“…fulfilling your destiny.” Finn interrupted. “Why can’t you see how special you are? If
your mother didn’t believe you could do this, she wouldn’t have Chosen you.”
“Well being Chosen isn’t as great as it’s cracked up to be, if you ask me.”
“Welcome to my life,” Finn muttered and chuckled in spite of himself. “Being Chosen
isn’t supposed to be fun or easy. It’s hard - it’s very hard…which is why it’s not given out
freely. Only those who can handle it are given the responsibilities and pressures that come along
with it.”
“I feel like my abilities work against me half the time. They distract me or backfire on
me! How can I concentrate on what I’m supposed to do when I’m having visions constantly
about people dying and horrible things happening?
supposed to do, when I know Nadia is out there, waiting for me to stumble so she can kick me
when I’m down?”
“I know you don’t want to hear this, but you’ll figure it out. Once you begin to control
and harness your abilities, it will all begin to fall into place,” Finn explained. “You have to trust
me on that. When we return to Lorelei, Mom will make sure your only priority is to practice
your abilities. I have a feeling the new Maven will not disagree.”
I gave up my fight and sagged against him, leaning my head back on his shoulder. I let
his darkness wrap around me and soothe my heart. “I don’t know what I’d do without you,” I
murmured.
“You’d probably have a broken leg,” he joked. “These rocks are no joke. Let’s get you
someplace dry.”
He helped me up and we delicately made our way across the rocky beach, toward a rock
that was shaped like a giant letter ‘n’ stepping into the ocean; one leg on the beach, while the
other was underwater. Beneath its arch the waves were slowly crawling toward the other leg, so
that the sand beneath was wet, but we were still shielded from the rain. I sat down on the wet
sand and stretched my legs out, allowing the water to slosh over them again and again.
“We could be in one of those Giorgio for Men cologne commercials right now, and not
even know it.”
“I was in a commercial like that once,” Finn contemplated.
“You were!?”
“No,” he smirked.
“I hate you,” I splashed water up at him.
“Aw, you don’t mean that,” he mewed, moving closer to me. I inched away from him
and crossed my arms.
“Oh yes I do.”
“I bet I can change your mind.”
“I doubt it,” I retorted, instantly regretting it when I saw the knowing look in his eye.
“Challenge accepted.” He grinned at me like a panther about to go in for the kill, and I
was fully aware I was the kill. What I wasn’t aware of was the fact that it had started to storm.
Lightning struck nearby, sending a shockwave across the beach that lit up the night with its flash.
I shrieked out and instinctively moved towards Finn, who pulled me close.
“I knew I could change your mind,” he chuckled. I didn’t miss the smug smile on his
face. “You didn’t know I could control lightning, did you?”
“I hope the next one hits you.” I rolled my eyes at his phony claim, inwardly relishing the
feel of his arms and the comfort of his body beside mine. As if on cue, another bolt of lightning
shot across the sky and sent the resulting thunder over the water and onto the beach; rattling
my insides with its tenor.
“Careful Pasha, you never know what you might be capable of.” He grinned, leaning
towards me and nuzzling my neck. “Burnt-to-a-crisp-Finn was not on the menu for tonight.”
“I’m pretty sure I can’t control anything that powerful,” I laughed his comment off and
shivered at the feel of his breath on my neck.
“I beg to differ,” he whispered in my ear.

Before You Go tour schedule ~ James website ~ Facebook  ~ Twitter ~ Goodreads

Clare James spent her childhood writing, reading, and dancing. Not much has changed since then, except she can no longer get up on toe shoes like she once could. And don’t even ask her to go into the splits because she may never get back up.

A new adult and contemporary romance writer, Clare loves a happy ending. She lives in Minneapolis with her two leading men—her husband and young son. BEFORE YOU GO is her debut new adult novel.

My review of Before you Go..........

Tabitha Kelly, Tabby, has moved to a new town and started a new life after leaving her previous one when she was betrayed by her friends and violated by her boyfriend. She has a plan. She thinks if she can have a one night stand controlling every aspect of it from start to finish, that she will be able to forget about the past. But the past is not so easily forgotten, and old wounds that run deep will take more than a casual sexual encounter to heal.
The best laid plans of mice and men.. Noah Adler is Tabby’s unwitting participant, but when he makes her actually feel from the start, her plan falls apart and she can’t go through with it. Now her plan is to forget about “the plan”, as well as Noah. Easier said than done since everywhere she turns, there’s Noah.
He quickly gets under her skin, bound and determined to break down the walls she’s so carefully constructed around her heart. She fears what he would think if he knew the truth, if he knew her secret. It turns out that Noah has a secret of his own. Can this unlikely pair learn to trust each other, or will their dark pasts tear them apart before they even have a chance to begin?
This is the debut novel for Clare James and I look forward to many more books from her. Fast paced and engaging, I was hooked from the first page! Flawed and relatable characters gave this book a realistic edge that made it all the more enticing. The ending was a little flat compared to the rest of the book, I would have liked a little more meat in the epilogue. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to what James brings us in the future.
