Character interview with Raven from Opposites and Giveaway

Opposites is  New Adult Dystopian novel releasing in May 2013.

In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.

In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.

Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests these boundaries, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.

Raven is a pivotal character within the world that is Opposites. Raven is tall with broad shoulders, blue eyes and black hair with purple streaks. The Priest of The Order he is passionate, loyal and slightly eccentric. He was born into House Gilley but now calls House Gaeland home.
He's very versatile in his activities with knowledge of swords, martial arts, fencing, the violin and (of course) the bible.

Tell us about your parents.
My father’s were Gabriel and Kirian’s guards, and my grandparents and biological mother were French. My father’s left their posts in the guard to devote their time to my studies and training once they realized I could be groomed for a position within The Order. They were fun loving yet hard working. Family always came first for us.
My mother’s instilled a great respect of heritage and a love of nature in me. One of my mother’s is a Seer, when my mom was pregnant she had a vision of a child that was watched over by a Raven, so they decided to name me Raven. Raven’s are also considered to be a prophet bird, so my name is surely fitting.
What’s your favorite color?
Black, Black, purple and … oh, yes, did I mention black??
How many tatoo’s do you have? What and where are they?
Four.  The celtic cross on my neck, the Raven across my shoulder blades and upper back, a celtic armband and one on my thigh that I’m not at liberty to discuss at this time.
Whom in your life would you say has influenced you most?
Marcus has been a huge inspiration in my life. I began my training with him when I was 13 so he was and is my mentor and teacher. He is fluent in all aspects of The Order and he can recite the bible cover to cover. And Rian has been a surrogate father to me, he is someone that is compassionate and embodies the best of what it means to be human.
Are you the top or the bottom?
Next question.
What’s your favorite Novel?
I found this book in the church archives that once belonged to Dr. Anthony Smith. He had a collection of what he referred to as “Pop culture reads”. There was a series called Twilight about creatures called vampires that sparkled. It struck my fancy.
Is Tanis a good kisser?
A Raven doesn’t kiss and tell… but, oh God YES!
Before meeting Tanis, was there someone else that you could have seen yourself in a relationship with?
Early on I must admit a slight attraction to Aiyan, but as he got older and developed his unique “personality” the attraction diminished. Then there was Ian. He was always the quiet, reserved type, much like myself. Ian and I are both originally from House Gilley and share a lot of fond memories but at the end of the day, we are better off as friends. Besides, no one gets my blood pumping quite like Tanis.
Which would you rather have in your hand; a bible, a sword or your violin?
I know the bible by heart, and while I must admit wielding a sword is very invigorating, music is one of the most profound forms of prayer. So I will have to go with my violin.
Last question… who’s your favorite twin? Aiya or Aiyan??
I’m sorry, I refuse to answer that question on the grounds in may incriminate me in further conversations with other parties.
