Blood & Thunder blog tour Review & Giveaway {Karaoke with Dex!}

CCBTHBlogTourBannerLG

Hello all! Thank you for joining me here on the last stop of the Blood & Thunder Blog Tour, celebrating the release of the second book in my law-enforcement shifter series the THIRDS! Thank you Tams for having me! Today we have a special treat. Karaoke! Well, sort of.
In Blood & Thunder the team heads to their favorite bar for some much needing R&R. Except Bar Dekatria has added a new feature, much to Sloane's horror. Karaoke nights! And of course, Dex couldn't be more excited. And of course, what would karaoke with Dex be without eighties music? Dex loves it. His adoptive dad Tony even jokes to Sloane about how Dex doesn't know any songs written after 1989. Whenever the opportunity presents itself and Dex can fit in a power ballad or some air guitar, he's all over it. So join Dex for some fantastic tunes from the era of neon spandex, leg warmers, and side ponytails!

Blood&Thunder200Genre: M/M Contemporary Paranormal Romance Series: THIRDS Book Two Length: 240 pages Published: Aug 4th, 2014 Publisher: Dreamspinner Press

When a series of bombs go off in a Therian youth center, injuring members of THIRDS Team Destructive Delta, and causing a rift between agents Dexter J. Daley and Sloane Brodie, peace seems unattainable. Especially when a new and frightening group, the Order of Adrasteia, appears to always be a step ahead. With panic and intolerance spreading and streets becoming littered with the Order’s propaganda, hostility between Humans and Therians grows daily. Dex and Sloane, along with the rest of the team, are determined to take down the Order and restore peace, not to mention settle a personal score. But the deeper the team investigates the bombings, the more they believe there’s a more sinister motive than a desire to shed blood and spread chaos.

Discovering the frightful truth behind the Order’s intent forces Sloane to confront secrets from a past he thought he’d left behind for good, a past that could not only destroy him and his career, but also the reputation of the organization that made him all he is today. Now more than ever, Dex and Sloane need each other, and, along with trust, the strength of their bond will mean the difference between justice and all-out war.
Read Chapter One here.

This book picks up where Hell & High Water left off, {this is a series that must be read in order} and the members of Destructive Delta are no closer to catching rogue HPF officer Isaac Pierce than they were before. It's a game of cat and mouse, and Pierce always seems to be one step ahead of the team. Dex and Sloane seem to have settled into a comfortable arrangement, although both have concerns they are too stubborn to actually talk to each other about. That is until a youth center is bombed and Hobbs and Cael are both injured. When Dex risks his own safety to save Hobbs, Sloane is royally pissed. But is he mad about the refusal to follow orders and leave the building? Or is he furious at the thought of loosing Dex? Sloane will have to face the demons of his past, and compromise with his lover about their future if these two stand a chance in Hell of making even a working partnership work. Much less their affair.

Dex is becoming more comfortable with his team, and the members are starting to be more accepting of him and his loud in your face behavior. He makes them all laugh and has pulled them all out of their self imposed misery after the death of one of their own. Even the brash, rude and obnoxious Ash. But secrets across the board threaten not only Dex and Sloane's already volatile relationship, but the unity of the team and the credibility of the THIRDS unit. Cael has a crush, and a childhood friendship between two of the team members has evolved into something more. One of their leaders is being very shady with need to know information, and they learn there is a leak in the department feeding the Order delicate information that could get them all killed.

This has become my favorite series in the genre in just two short books! The attention to detail, world building and character development is some of the best that I've read in years. As you read these books I encourage you to pay attention to every detail, I have a feeling that as the series progress's, little innate details will grow to have a larger meaning. I love the way the team is learning to work together and manage their strength's and weakness's, and even the strongest has a breaking point. The relationship between Dex and Sloane is complicated to say the least, and it's refreshing that they are slowly building that barrier of trust and I can't wait until they finally fall over the edge.

Fans of strong alpha male archatypes, SyFy, paranormal and shifters will all enjoy this series. But with the element of mystery, intrigue and suspense that is added to the storylines... I think anyone would find something in this series they can latch on to and enjoy. I highly recommend it, but start with book 1 if you missed it or you'll be completely lost!

  4. Oh man, Dex is totally my favorite character in any m/m series I've ever read! Every time Journey plays on the radio, the image of Dex singing karaoke pops into my head and brings an even bigger smile to my face. Now where'd I put my cheesy doodles...?
