Welcome to the Gayborhood! Another Shot by J.H. Knight | Heartsville series #3 | Review & Giveaway

Welcome to the gayborhood! In the cozy town of Heartsville, the streets are lined with trees, the shops are full of friendly faces, and happily ever after is just around the corner. Come get to know the boys next door—naughty, nice, and everything in between.

Another Shot by J.H. Knight (Oct. 28th)

The town of Heartsville means something different to everyone who lives there. For Aaron Forester, it’s a gay-friendly buffer between himself and the rest of the world. After being outed in high school and bullied to the point of violence, his family uprooted their lives and relocated to the small hamlet. He’s moved on from all that and now owns a popular cafĂ© in the bustling shopping district. But after twenty years of happy living, Aaron’s past creeps up on him in the most unexpected way.

Brad Collins only has one regret and he’s carried it with him since he was a teenager. When he moves to Heartsville and gets set up on a blind date with the most adorable, engaging man he’s met in a long time, he couldn’t be happier. But Brad didn’t expect the guy to be the person he outed in high school—who he’s now falling in love with.

Aaron and Brad hit it off instantly—in and out of the bedroom. But after a long overdue apology and a small serving of resentment, is their fledgling relationship worth another shot?

Young Aaron Forester didn’t hide who he was, but he didn’t flaunt it either. That was until one of his peers in high school plastered a picture of Aaron and his then boyfriend kissing all over the school with an assortment of less than colorful words to accompany the image. After several fights left Aaron injured, his parents moved him and his sister to Heartsville, where their son could be who he was without fear of repercussion. More than a decade later, Aaron is successful, but still single, until his sister sets him up on a blind date that brings the past full circle.

This nifty little series continues to impress me with the amount of content that each story holds. I would have liked to have gotten a better picture of Brad Collins, aside from him being closeted and fearful of coming out as a teen. I absolutely adored Aaron’s sister, her sense of humor and her persistence. The romance between these two while in reality was rushed and mirrored insta-love, it worked for them. Perhaps because of the history they shared, albeit unknowingly, they just really fit well together from the start and it conveyed well the way the story and characters were written.

Yet another short, sexy and steamy read from the newest Gayborhood to hit the maps, Heartsville. This series has been so much fun, a night cap before bed to ensure I have some super sexy, sweet dreams at night. I highly recommend these well written and captivating short stories.
