Randall gave up his part of his family's inheritance years ago for  freedom to be his own man. He has a massage business where he often indulges in sex with his clients to help pay the bills  and erotic photography, but his main love is his children's fantasy photography. But once his niece was born he found himself getting sucked more into the family once again.

He runs into his first love one evening and his world is rocked in more ways than one.

Noah has always loved Randall and knew he was the one. He hoped one day to see Randall again and that they would hit it off but left it in fate's hands.

If I weren't already a diehard fan of Brandon Witt  this book is a shoe-in to put me there. I started it last night ad read into the wee hours of morning, until I just couldn't anymore. So be sure to clear your schedule when you pick this up it will keep you wanting to turn  the page until the end then make you beg for more. (Please Brandon Please!)

I don't know who I loved the most,Randall or Noah. It's a close call. But I think I feel  in love with Noah.  I loved Noah's loyalty and how he stuck through Randall through so much. all of the characters are amazing to the max! The plot was intriguing. the story both sad at times, angsty, romantic and steamy hot!

If you like stories with lots of angst, drama, Photographers, humane society workers, dogs, children, romance and some very hot man=sex you will love this. I think it's a must read of the summer!

Food.  My life is all about food. I’ve met some people who say they eat to live.  That it’s just an act they do to stay alive.  I don’t understand those people.  I’m the opposite.  I live to eat.  I grew up in a family where while we were eating one meal, we were planning the next.  Literally.  I try to no longer do that, so that I can truly enjoy the moment, but I honestly can’t say that I’m overly successful in that endeavor.  And, no, I have noooooo idea why I struggle with my waistline.

Food has been an important part of my novels since my first book, The Shattered Door.  I’d not even been aware of it while I was writing the book, but afterwards, someone who didn’t really care for the story mentioned that it was a cookbook disguised as a novel.  I realized he was kinda right.  I’d based the book in the Midwest town I’d grown up in.  The food was part of the town, part of the culture, part of life.

It’s continued to be present in all my writing since.  However, I think Son of Money is the one that comes the closest to The Shattered Door’s obsession with food.  Son of Money takes place in Seattle.  The city is one of my favorite places in the world.  It also is a very healing place to me, which I felt was needed for this story.  When I think of Seattle, I think of those restaurants that I go to each and every time I visit. Yes, I think of the natural and architectural beauty of the place, of the market, of the people, but really, I think about the food. 

As you read Son of Money, if you do, you’ll almost get a walking tour of Seattle, places I love, places that have changed both me and my character, Randall. You’ll also be inundated by food.  If you go to Seattle one day, feel free to use Son of Money as your tour guide, especially where food is concerned. 

For fun, I thought I’d share my four favorites. There are more, but these are my mustn’t be missed list.

Three of them are in Pike Place Market.  Cliché and tourist trap to be sure.  But they are for reason.

La Panier: For breakfast you must go to this French bakery.  You also must get their Feuilletes.  They’re puff pastries with different fillings.  Get four of them.  One of them simply must be the Champignons, which are mushrooms in a cream sauce.  I don’t even like mushrooms, truly.  Another great choice is there Normandie, which is chicken in a cream sauce.  Hmmmmm…. Aparantly I like things creamy….

Beecher’s Cheese Shop:  Sit and watch the cheese makers craft the food of heaven as you have a hot grilled cheese sandwich, a bowl of tomato soup covered in croutons and cheese, with a side of cheese curds.  Heaven, I tell.  Heaven.

The Confectional:  After, for dessert, stay on the cheese wagon.  Walk about a block down from Beecher’s to burn some calories and get a personal sized cheesecake (Or two.  Two is my magic number).  One can be anything of your choosing, they’re all wonderful.  However, your second has to be their Mexican Chocolate Cheesecake.  It’s chocolate. It’s cheesecake.  It’s spicy.  It’s orgasmic.

Wild Ginger:  It’s not in Pike Place Market, but it’s only a few blocks away.  Go for dinner, get the appetizers of satay (order a variety, but you must get the lamb) and then order their Mongolian Noodles.  Some of the best Asian food I’ve ever had!

(Bonus: The next day, or for dessert after Wild Ginger, go to Capitol Hill and get cupcakes from Cupcake Royale. You won’t be sorry.)

I hope you give Son of Money a try, and, even more so, I hope you enjoy it.  However, no matter how you feel about the novel, be prepared to salivate!
