A Fallen Heart (Zero Hour book 2) by @CateAshwood | Cat's Release day Review & #giveaway #mmromance @Dreamspinners

After his last disastrous relationship, Joseph Ford has absolutely no interest in getting attached again. Concentrating on working as a trauma nurse and keeping his life as simple as possible are his only goals. Unfortunately, his plans could be derailed by the charming, sexy Nash.

Things are looking up for paramedic Ridley Nash when he transfers to Station 217. He gets along with the crew, likes his partner, and is finally on a team willing to accept him—gay and all. It’s everything he’s always wanted, but when he meets Ford, Nash knows his life is about to get very interesting.

As Ford and Nash find themselves stuck in the middle of a homicide case, things become more complicated. For the last year, the mutilated bodies of teenage boys have been showing up all over downtown. With no leads, the police are getting desperate. One of the victims is found alive, and he’s the best chance the police have to catch the killer—if only they can get him to talk.

Will Nash be able to catch Ford when he falls, or is there too much standing in their way to make it work?

A fallen Heart is book two in the Zero Hour Series. It could stand alone but i think you would understand things much better read in order. The main characters are different  for the romance part but the plot picks up from the last book.

Ford is a nurse in the ER and Sam's best friend ( from book one) . Sam's boyfriend Adam is a paramedic and just got a new partner..Nash.  Nash is immediately smitten by Ford and they become friends but Ford makes it clear he wants nothing more after just getting out of a bad breakup.
Nash and Adam bring in two boys, one already dead and the other pretty banged up and very full of drugs.  The boy that died was in the same shape as the others that have been serial killed in the past year.

The surviving boy reminds Ford of his brother when he was that age and they form a bond. Joel will only talk to Ford. Will Joel be the link to finally find and put away this serial killer?

I loved both Nash and Ford. Their relationship was great, with Nash being loving and caring and Ford like a scared kitten. The first sex scene doesn't take place until about halfway into the book, but man is it sexy. I loved how you could visualize their every move and yet it wasn't crass or dirty, just sensual and hot.

Wow! This story is awesome.  I don't know which is best, the romance or the mystery/suspense. Let me tell you it is very suspenseful! I thought I had figured out  who it was, looked like i was right...then...I wasn't. I love being wrong.  Oh! But wait... there is a huge twist at the end that makes you beg for the next book. Darn it.. How long do i have to wait?

If you like male nurses, men in uniform, mystery/suspense. twists, and some hot man-sex you will love this!

Cate Ashwood wrote her very first story in a hot pink binder when she was in the second grade and found her passion for writing. Her first successful foray into romance writing came five years later when she wrote her best friend, who was experiencing a case of unrequited love, her own happily ever after.

Cate’s life has taken a number of different and adventurous roads. She now lives a stone’s throw from the ocean, just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia with her husband, son, and two cats. Her life is filled with family and friends, travel, and, of course, books.
