#TTCAOTM @JoTannah Spotlight on Compelled w/Author Q&A Part I & #giveaway #mmromance

Let's delve into a bit of SyFy fantasy with Compelled.
I'm intrigued with the synopsis of this book, it reads like an MM take on Superman with the difference in Atmosphere and such. Definitely adding this one to my TBR list!

Do you believe in dreams? That’s how I found Ryan. Unfortunately, I could not be with him then, not until he took that final leap of faith. You see, I come from a distant star and coming from another planet is problematic. Coming from a planet where the atmosphere is different from Earth makes it even more complicated.

Despite my father’s caution, I went to Earth. I was compelled because of my love for Ryan. I wanted him to come home with me but he would have to suffer through the change to survive. I wanted to be with him on Earth but its atmosphere is toxic to my kind.

I was caught between two different worlds and longed for at least one more hour on that planet so I could be with Ryan. What I wouldn’t give, just to feel his skin against mine, to taste his lips on my mouth. What I wouldn’t give, just to get lost in his embrace once more.

I am Q’lan. This is our story. It is not long but it was difficult. I am glad that I can tell it now with Ryan in my arms -
In my embrace - In my life

Author Q&A Part I...

Jo: Before I go to the Q&A, let me just thank you for hosting me. It’s really quite an honor and kind of disconcerting. It’s still weird being on the other side. Thank you, Ms Tams.
Tams: you humble me!

Where are you from, and where do you call home?

Jo: I live on the island of Negros, in the Philippines.

What inspired you to start writing?

Jo: Books. Books. And more books. I read a lot and am known to worm through five or six in a day. Someone told me to write reviews and so I did. The review blog, multitaskingmommas Book Reviews was born and I kept up the blog through the years.

How long have you been writing?

Jo: Forever.
Tams: Good answer!

What advice would you give a new writer just starting out?

Jo: On the side, I wrote this story based on a local legend of aswangs but it was so bad I set it aside. As you can read from my bio, I moved homes and it was when unpacking a box did I find that story again. I also found a journal I’d kept long ago, filled with notes and snippets of stories my dad and yayas (or nannies) used to tell.

I wrote one other story, What A Difference A Day Makes and it was published by a now defunct house. I got the rights back, self published it and forgot about it. Then a friend asked why I’d not written anything or published since that first book, truth be told, I got scared and when scared, I shut down. She told me, quite frankly, stop being a baby and submit the book. In the middle of a light hearted argument that lasted around 6 months, this friend helped me polish Hidden: Evils, shredded it and then reassembled the story to make readable, and in the process, was able to write another story, The Way You Look Tonight. She told me one day, stop procrastinating and send it off to Wayward Ink Publishing. I did. Both books got contracted and finally released.

What’s my point? Write. Don’t let anything get in your way, something out there may just surprise you. Wayward took a chance on me, a risk really, but it all paid out.

*****************************************************************************

I am a wife, mother and blogger by day, a writer by night. It can be  difficult to say the least but it is a challenge that keeps me on my toes.

I grew up listening to folk tales my father and nannies told either to entertain us children or to send home a message. These narratives I kept with me and finally I wrote them down in a journal way back when I kept one. Going through junk led to a long forgotten box and in it was the journal. Reading over the stories of romance, science fiction and horror I had taken time to put to paper, brought to light that these were tales I never met in my readings.

The tales I write are fictional but all of them are based on what I grew up with and still dream about. That they have an M/M twist is simply for my pleasure. And I hope, yours as well.
