At the Corner of Rock Bottom & Nowhere by LA Witt | Cat's Review & #giveaway @GallagherWitt

Blackjack dealer and stripper Adrian West has lived in Las Vegas long enough to be numb to beggars on the Strip. Their destitution is a sad, ugly part of reality in a city where people win or lose it all at the tables every single day.

So he’s at a loss to explain why the homeless man in the suit catches his eye. Why he can’t just keep on walking like he always does.

Former advertising executive Max Reynolds is a Las Vegas cliché. After a run of bad luck costs him his boyfriend, his job, and his home, he’s decided to go out with a bang—a week of high-rolling capped off with a peaceful overdose in a luxury hotel room.

When a last second epiphany keeps him from finishing the job, he’s ready to live again… but he doesn’t have a dime to his name. He has nothing.

That is until a stranger takes him in off the street. Max may have hit rock bottom, but now he has a glimmer of hope and an unexpected friendship.

A friendship that just might turn into everything neither man knew he was missing.

I love this cover. I think it really tells a story.

Aiden is a card dealer in one of the Vegas casinos and also a stripper. Although, good-looking and sexy he is lonely. He walks the same path to his car each day but avoids looking at the many homeless people standing along te strip with their signs and cups for money...Until one day something makes him stop and notice a man. He turns back around to leave again, but something inside has him go back and ask the man to dinner and if he can take him to a shelter afterward.

Max had it all. An expensive condo, two cars, a fancy job where he ate three-hundred dollar steaks, but when he lost his job he lost it all including his boyfriend and friends. He took his savings and headed to Vegas to go out with a bang. Except at the last minute he decided he wanted to live and found himself on the streets with nothing and everyone walking by like he did not exist until one man stops.

On The Corner of Rock Bottom and Nowhere made me think. It is very emotion filled and has such a great story. Though two people so different, each seemed made for the other. was it coincidence Max lost it all and ended up in Vegas? Was it Kismet? I like to think so. But I am a real romantic at heart. Both Aiden and Max are well-rounded characters, the storyline is intriguing, and the sex is hot.
For me, it was a perfect romance with the angst in the backstory and the romance just right.

If you like emotional stories, broken men, Prince to Pauper, Strippers, and some hot man-sex you will enjoy this one!

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…
