 There's this thing about fate and soul mates... you only have the one so you have to cherish and protect that love, which is exactly what Sebastian Hobbs does when it comes to his enigmatic Doctor and mate, Hudson Colbourn. A tragedy tore them apart many years ago, but they continue to hover, constantly pulled together like magnets. When Hudson finally decides to stop putting so much effort into not being with Seb, tragedy strikes again and threatens not only to snuff out the newly rekindled flame between these two, it threatens their team, family and friends as well. 

 It feels like I've been waiting for this book for so long that I tried very hard to savor it, read slowly and enjoy each and every word. Yeah, I devoured it in one setting. My heart broke when Hudson and Seb went on the ill fated trip to the store for Seb's mom. You see, Hudson feels like the accident that cost a child his life so many years ago, the accident that tore him and Seb apart, he feels like because of that he deserves to be alone and miserable. It will take a lot of love, understanding and patience for Seb to convince the man he loves more than life itself that they are called accidents for a reason.

 Fast paced, action packed and intense; Darkest hour picks up where Thick & Thin left off giving us, the readers, more information and insight into what's happening with many of the characters and couples in the series. The core of the story is relationship between Seb and Hudson, their struggles to maintain their sanity and live what appears to be a life without the other half of their soul. It's passionate, intense and emotional and definitely a must read.
