Cat gives this one 4 Meows...

Dylan and Jake have been friends since college. They both harbor a secret that could change not only tier lives but their friendship.

This is a cute, very short friends to lovers story. I am a big fan of Cate Ashwood and haven't read one of her books that wasn't fun and enjoyable. This one didn't disappoint.

If you like friends to lovers, cruises, a sweet romance and some hot man-sex this is for you. If you are looking for a book to begin your journey into MM love this is a good one to start with.

Cate discovered her love for books of all kinds early on, but romance is where her heart truly lies. She is addicted to the happily ever afters and the journey the characters take to get there. Currently residing in White Rock, B.C, Cate loves living just a stone's throw from the ocean. When she's not writing, she can be found consuming coffee at an alarming rate while wrangling her children, her husband, and their two cats.

The Queens of Innis Lear official blog tour | Spotlight, Audio Excerpt & #giveaway @JeanBookNerd @tessagratton

Hardcover: 576 pages
Publisher: Tor Books (March 27, 2018)
Language: English
ISBN-10: 0765392461

Praise for THE QUEENS OF INNIS LEAR

“I adore this—rich, epic, blood-soaked—a glorious and grand sweeping fantasy.” —Kate

Elliott, author of The Poisoned Blade

“A gloriously symphonic, thematically rich variation on the story of the daughters of Lear. The danger of seeking certainty makes this a tale for our time; the power of truth and mercy makes it a tale for all times. Prepare to devour every word, for Innis Lear will consume you.” —Karen Lord, author of Redemption in Indigo

"Messy, beautiful, and dark, darker than Shakespeare could have dreamed." —E. K. Johnston, author of Star Wars: Ahsoka

A kingdom at risk, a crown divided, a family drenched in blood.

The erratic decisions of a prophecy-obsessed king have drained Innis Lear of its wild magic, leaving behind a trail of barren crops and despondent subjects. Enemy nations circle the once-bountiful isle, sensing its growing vulnerability, hungry to control the ideal port for all trade routes.

The king's three daughters—battle-hungry Gaela, master manipulator Reagan, and restrained, starblessed Elia—know the realm's only chance of resurrection is to crown a new sovereign, proving a strong hand can resurrect magic and defend itself. But their father will not choose an heir until the longest night of the year, when prophecies align and a poison ritual can be enacted.

Refusing to leave their future in the hands of blind faith, the daughters of Innis Lear prepare for war—but regardless of who wins the crown, the shores of Innis will weep the blood of a house divided.

  • It's been a rough couple of years for Cailey Kantor. Facing her first Christmas alone and bad financial news, she prays for an angel to fix her problems. Instead, a sadistic, sociopathic vampire, with the goal of starting a vampire war, attacks her and forces her to drink blood stolen from the Nosferatu Gabriel Blautsauger.
Gabe must complete Cailey's turning or she will die. In doing so he risks losing his yet unfound soulmate. But something about the lovely mortal speaks to his heart. Once her transformation is complete, he and Cailey find themselves embroiled in a battle that could cost them all they hold dear.
Faced with lies, abduction, and betrayal Cailey wonders if the vampire she is falling fangs over heart for is in it for love or if she's just a means to stop a war.

    Story
It's Christmas and Cailey is alone. Her mother has died, she is divorced. Sitting at home she gets drunk watching It's a Wonderful Life and heads to the bridge thinking she has nothing to live for and everything would be better if she died. She is brutally attacked and all she can say is Gabriel Blautsauger bit her, she hates him.

Someone is out to destroy Gabriel Blautsauger by framing him of serial killings and illegal turnings. ut the last victim lived because Gabe's sister figured out whose blood was in Cailey. Gabe corrected the bad turn and took Cailey as his.

This is a cute story. The vampires don't sparkle but they are not vicious either... well there is the good ones and the bad ones. There is a lot of wist and turns, many surprises and the romance is hot as well.

I loved Clarke Bellflower's voice. It is sweet, unique and she did do a few extra voices for the characters. Her accents for the vampires was cute too. I think she really made the story.
  • Born and raised in Joplin, Missouri, I've also resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Springfield, Missouri and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Though I have loved each area, the Ozarks will always hold a special place in my heart.
I was inspired to write my first book, IT'S A WONDERFUL UNDEAD LIFE, while working as a phlebotomist. Of course, since I spent every day sticking needles into veins for the collection of blood samples, it led me to write a story about vampires.
I tried to imagine what would happen to a phlebotomist if she were to become a vampire? And the Blautsauger family of vampires was born.

Side note: Blautsauger is an old Bavarian word for bloodsucker.

Quinn's Longing (A Companion's Tale Book 2) by Emily Jean | Cat's Review & #giveaway

To live is to suffer, to love is to forgive.

After Quinn more or less obliterates an entire warlock city, his vampire mate, Raphael, rushes him back to his kingdom for aid. With Desmond captured and Quinn out of commission, Raph is forced to make the hardest decision of his life: to leave his companion mate and set off to destroy the warlock's main city while it is still easy to conquer.

Alone and upset, Quinn wakes up to discover his mate is gone. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he plunges deep into his warlock creator's mind, and searches for answers that may or may not shatter his world: does Desmond plan to use Quinn's body as he once intended, or has he decided to free him of that fate?

While Quinn still heals from the recent battle, he's left at the mercy of the vampire king himself, where Quinn is led to believe he isn't good enough for the vampire's only son and heir. Not only is Quinn a companion, but he's a male, and so to secure the royal family bloodline, his mate must be married by any means necessary.

Knocked unconscious and left to perish in the western woods, Quinn rouses only to discover a dark and deeply kept secret. Will he return back to the vampire's main city, or will he choose to stay in the woods, longing for his mates?

This is the second book in the companion tale series. Continue to follow Quinn, Raphael, and Desmond as the dark forces of this unique paranormal world attempt to tear them apart. This trio of fated mates will stop at nothing to fight for their right to be together, even when the odds are heavily stacked against them.

Story
Tried and True is book 10 in the THIRDS series and you do need to read them in order.
Sloane and Dex are preparing for their wedding when tragedy strikes and they have to come together as a team once again to protect their loved ones and find the more in TIN.

There is so much going on in this book its hard to tell you without a spoiler.

I love Dex and more and more as he grows and his abilities become stronger as a hybrid Therian. He is strong, sexy, and funny. Sloane is his perfect match. They are sort of opposites, Sloane always trying to get Dex to eat healthier when he is happy with donuts and gummy bears.

Every character in this series is amazing. most of them had their own books with the later ones being focused on Dex, Sloane and the new Team.

There is so much action, drama, also some violence, suspense, and man-sex. There is plenty of humor to tap down the drama and violence.

I have to admit I laughed my self to tears a few times and the Wedding was amazing. When they danced to Time of my life the tears flowed...*glares at empty tissue box and words the end.*

I know this is the end of this series but I hope we haven't seen the end of these men.

I absolutely love Mark Westfield. He made each character come alive and I adore the special effects he uses like the mics, phones, walkies etc.It adds such a special touch. I love the accents on the British characters and how each man has a voice of his own. I could see everything that was happening as he acted out this story.
