Cat’s Release Day Review of Second Chance by Barbara Elsborg @BarbaraElsborg @TTCBooksandmore

Title: Second Chance
Author: Barbara Elsborg
Publisher:

Ryder’s on the company bonding trip from hell, five days of competitive cycling with competitive colleagues and an even more competitive boss. Faced with yet another vertical climb, he ignores his insistent inner voice and decides that not only can he not keep up, he’s had enough. It appears the weather thinks he should stop, too, when sun turns to thick fog. Disorientated, Ryder brakes hard and flies over the handlebars into oblivion.

Callan’s at Whittaker’s Auction House to bid on fae land that his werewolf pack need as their new home, when an unsuspecting human stumbles through the door. Ryder is out of place, out of luck, way out of his depth—and apparently the newest item on the auctioneer’s block. Tempting, if Callan had the money.

As the bidding heats up and Ryder proves irresistible to the assembled fae, vampires and witches, the situation grows more and more precarious. Callan can’t help interfering. He wants Ryder but at what cost? If he goes back without the land, he’ll infuriate his Alpha and put the pack’s future at risk.

But there’s something about Ryder that Callan cannot resist. How far is he prepared to go in order to get him?

Cat Gives this one 5 Meows 4 Purrs...

Wow just Wow.  This book is very unusual. It is several types of stories all rolled up in one. I will warn you to be patient with Ryder and hang in until you hit the Faery Realm and do not look down upon him for his internal dialog. It serves two purposes... One how can a person pretty much alone tell a story without it being a monologue without thought and inner dialogue and I could tell you two but then I would have to kill you... well maybe not so drastic but I don't like marking spoilers so Ill let you find out two on your own.

In the faery realm, Ryder finds himself for sale and no way out though he does try. Callan finds himself wanting a human almost to the point of using his pack money buying him and running... but the pack needs this land to be safe. Then one twist starts hitting after another. A jealous Faery, a very hot sexual escapade and during that we find some tidbits about both men, then another big twist and both men are back in their own worlds when I am like...I kinda guessed this now... and another pretty good size twist and then a kinda shocker leaving me like wow I did not see that part but Awe how sweet of Callum's family.

So yes, this story has everything. Fantasy, hot sex, sadness, happiness, one heck of an emotional rollercoaster.

Barbara Elsborg lives in Kent in the South of England. She always wanted to be a spy, but having confessed to everyone without them even resorting to torture, she decided it was not for her. Volcanology scorched her feet. A morbid fear of sharks put paid to marine biology. So instead, she spent several years successfully selling cyanide.

After dragging up two rotten, ungrateful children and frustrating her sexy, devoted, wonderful husband (who can now stop twisting her arm) she finally has time to conduct an affair with an electrifying plugged-in male, her laptop.

Her books feature quirky heroines and bad boys, and she hopes they are as much fun to read as they were to write.
