Cat’s Review of Taming the Doctor (Seaside Bay #1) by J.S. Bright @TTCBooksandmore

Matthew

Seaside Bay is my home, but with prospects on the downswing, I traveled out of town to job hunt. Instead of work, I found one hot Alpha who rocked my world. But he rocked it a little too hard, and now I’m afraid he’s left something important behind.

Desperate for a job, my only option is to work for the new doctor in Seaside Bay, who just happened to be the extremely hot Alpha I’d screwed while out of town. Now I’m stuck working with Dr. Hottie, and I’m not sure I can keep my hands to myself.

Rich

I won’t ever fall in love again. And I sure as heck will never have a family. The pain of loss is still too much, and I have other things I want out of life, like fun and excitement. No drama! Picking up hot omegas is more my style, but when I run into the sexy omega at a bar, he tempts me to ask for more than a one-night-stand, but I can’t since I’m leaving town and heading to Seaside Bay.

I need to hire an office manager in Seaside Bay, and the best person for the job is none other than the sexy omega from the bar. He states very plainly he’s not interested in me but having him around is too much temptation.

Can we work together, or will the sweet omega be the end of my resolve to never fall in love and have a family again?

Cat gives this one 4 Meows with a 3 Purr heat index...

Mathew Cherry is a young Omega and determined to fight against society's standards and show he can fit in. He has the perfect job or so he thinks until he goes in and finds the Dr, he works for is closing practice...in two weeks. There aren't any other jobs in his field and being a tourist town, the college kids are filling the temporary slots for summer so he travels out of town as much as he doesn't want to for interviews. Depressed and down on his luck he stays at a motel a friend rented for him for the night and goes to the bar next door for one final hookup before going home, were  Omegas are labeled badly f they are caught just having hookups and he wants to spare his reputation since being an omega makes life hard enough.

Richard Johnson is a Dr that has a secret in his past that has him down on relationships. he has vowed never to marry or have children but is moving to his dream location near the ocean in a couple of weeks. He is out to scratch an itch when he sees an adorable Omega he never saw before and things get heated fast. They go to the hotel to have the best sex ever then something happens.   He thinks he will never see the man again but when he moves who would be the best fit for the office manager but the cute Omega from the hotel.
I don't do half stars, so I rounded up to four.  The story is fun. The characters are interesting.  There are a couple of plots or subplots that add drama and twists.

The hotel scene was hot and then there was a twist that I couldn’t help but laugh at. It was also a unique way to be a catalyst for a common trope.

My only issues were 1 There was mention of a Dash that Mathew was paying his mother's debts and it confused me as I had no idea who Dash was or why Mathew was paying though this does get resolved at the very end. I would have just liked a little something to have made this smoother. Early on it is mentioned a lot then suddenly dropped to the end then suddenly resurrected and resolved. #2. There is a lot of repetition.

Having said that... the story is fun, sexy and one of the best Omega MM non-shifter pregs I have read.

If you like MM preg nonshifter, age gap, a second chance at life, hurt/comfort a good romance, and a bit of wit this is for you.
