This is a new to me author and I rarely read books this long... but I was intrigued by the prospects of Incubus. It is rare to find a good Incubus or even mm vampire book that I usually jump at the chance.

I am glad I did. This book is unique, intriguing, full of interesting characters, a well-developed plot with lots of twists. I will say it has lots of sex and some are needed especially since the book is incubi and that is how they feed.

Killian is being groomed to be king and has been isolated most of his life to keep him pure. Being an S level Incubi, he is able to give birth and since he turned 24, he goes through a ceremony to choose five consorts from 25 that his father has carefully chosen. Then there is the Ranking ceremony and mating ceremony where each gets so many days to get him pregnant.

The main part of the book was Killian choosing his men. I liked that he was indeed picky and wanted to spend time with them and not just pick by looks or physical attraction. He wanted someone that would grow to love him, and he loves not just protectors. I loved this. There was a little instant attraction as his heart seemed drawn to one-man, physical attraction to one and so forth.

There is drama, danger, suspense, as it seems someone or something is after the prince to take over the kingdom. There are lots of twists and I will admit this book is engaging and you need to have time set aside because I figured a week for this and read it in three nights. (I didn't want to put it down when I did LOL). The ending was quite a surprise and you will need some tissue.

So, having said that The reason I didn't give it a five was I did feel the sex scenes could have been a little shorter and I found myself skimming through them after the first couple. That would shorten the book just a little and tighten it up.

( REVIEWERS NOTE) I only review on story and characters not on editing or typos... having said that there are a lot of typos and if that bothers you I wouldn't get the book if not just ignore it and enjoy a fabulous story!)
