Cat's Review of Clean Up On Aisle Mine (A Spy Like Me #1) by Patricia Logan @PatriciaLogan1 @TTCBooksandmore

Former CIA operative, Damon Thorne, is a fixer. He cleans up messes other people make of their lives to forget the wreckage his own has become. Whether it means retrieving a drug addict whose family is being blackmailed or rescuing a furball who’s the subject of a custody dispute, Damon just gets things done.

When the job means kidnapping the wild son of a prominent Senator in an election year, it should come with hazard pay.

From the day Jude Chenoweth was born into wealth and position, his father has groomed him to follow in his footsteps. Jude has other plans. Openly gay and infamous, all he wants to do is live his life, create his art, and never settle down.

Life has a way of kicking butts, even the sexy ones. Thrown together in a situation neither wanted, Damon and Jude must now decide how to move forward. Jude knows something is wrong when he gazes into Damon’s haunted brown eyes and Damon recognizes there’s much more to Jude than the caricature he shows the world.

This might be the beginning of a journey… or an incredibly stupid mistake. Perhaps working together will help them process their own demons. Whatever happens, neither of them believes Damon’s assignments will always come with a heaping helping of bad guys.

Not always… right?

Damon Is a fixer. Though That wasn't exactly what I had expected (my mind went crime family cleaner), He does do tasks that are above the law and dangerous.   We get to watch him on a few of these tasks and I have to admit it is a lot of fun watching him work.  His Best friend Leah is a Trans woman and a force to be reckoned with. I simply adored her to death! And he has a Tomcat he adopted from the parking lot with a missing ear and attitude all of his own.  Tom fits perfectly in with Damon and his little band of friends. Then there is Jude. Jude is the Senator's gay son that is open, and his dad is trying to tone him down during his campaign.  I was a bit curious how Damon was supposed to just talk Jude into behaving when his own dad couldn't, but it did make for a fun story and I loved the banter between these two men.  Jude may not be a spy, but he isn't a sissy either and becomes a great asset and another friend to Damon.  My heart goes out to Damon as his past unfolds.

I do have to say one thing. When Patricia Logan brings two men together it is sheet melting! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the two coming together so quickly after Damon is so set not to unlock his heart but... Dang, these two are perfect!  I was a bit surprised at the end and cannot wait for the next book so I can see how some things work out.
