Cat's Review of This Time For Always by Andrew Grey @AndrewGreyBooks @TTCBooksandmore

Police officer Finnigan Pettaprin’s life is his job. He’s driven to be the best, always. Past relationships have largely been heartbreaking, so he keeps to himself. The last thing he expects is for a near-disastrous car chase through town to bring him in contact with Mark, the one who got away.

Mark Wallace hasn’t had the best luck in life. He managed to get out of Chicago with his freedom and his son, Lonnie, and needs help. Finn is the one friend he knows he can count on for a temporary place to stay, and possibly more. He’s hoping for a new start in a new town with a new job, but with his parents threatening to try to take his son, nothing is easy.

Finn takes Mark in and helps him get his life back on track. Along the way, the two men grow closer as they realize that what they both have always wanted is now in reach. But the intersection of Mark’s past and a string of local robberies threatens to upend the small family they are just starting to build and could give Mark’s parents the ammunition they need to destroy everything.

Cat gives this book 5 Meows with a 3 purr heat index...

Finn is working when there is a near accident. In one of the vehicles is his old friend and secret crush, Mark, and his son Lonnie. Mark is looking a bit rough around the edges and when he says he needs a favor, Finn is initially wary

Mark has had it tough and been down on his luck, but nearly losing his son was enough to shake him up and he's done what he could to get his act together. Now he has a job but needs to get away from his mom but had no money until he gets paid. He seeks out his best friend Finn to see if he will help him out.

But there is more to his story than just Mark's past drinking. Will he jeopardize Finn’s job and lose his son? Or will he be able to get his life back together?

This was a short but sweet story with some mystery as to who is burglarizing houses, Mark trying to stay dry and fight his mom for custody of his son. And then there's the sweet budding romance. It’s a nice friends to lovers, small town romance, men in uniform story with a cute kid. What’s not to love?!
