Cat's Release day Review of Heal Me (A Love in the Pacific Northwest novel) by Beck Grey @TTCBooksandmore

A lawyer and an architect walk into a bar…

Jocelin:

What do you do when your boss’s pushy nephew repeatedly asks you out and won’t take no for an answer? You create a fake boyfriend. One who works a lot, so he never comes to office functions or meets you for lunch. It works well until le salaud calls my bluff.

So that’s how I find myself at a client event, practically begging a handsome stranger to play said boyfriend. Only after I calm down do I realize le bel homme in the bespoke suit is no stranger at all. He’s my best friend’s brother, and mon Dieu, he cleans up well!

When Gunnar volunteers to keep up the ruse beyond one night, of course, I say yes. I’m no fool. But fake love can have very real consequences…

Gunnar:

Being accosted by the attractive, if slightly flustered, Jocelin Allard before I even make it out of the parking lot isn’t how I expect to start my evening. But pretending to be his boyfriend for a few hours seems like a harmless way to liven up an otherwise painful social event.

And as far as dates go, fake or otherwise, I could do a lot worse. He’s smart, gorgeous, and has a sexy accent. Plus, my sister would kill me if I left her bestie hanging.

When the evening goes shockingly well, almost effortlessly, our relationship turns real, and for a while, it’s total bliss. Until I unintentionally take a wrecking ball to my life. Again.

Heal Me is a low-medium angst, MM fake boyfriend, sister’s best friend, contemporary romance about bad decisions, past trauma, and loving someone including their flaws. It contains no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA

Hi Y’all! Come in and grab a seat while I tell you about this book I just read.

The title is Heal Me by Beck Grey it is book 5 in the Love in the Pacific Northwest series. You should read in order since so many characters reoccur and interact from each book. But you could probably enjoy on its own.

The cover is so Sexy. Then I read the blurb and it really got my interest because, fake boyfriend? Yes! Then there is the circle of friends and sister`s best friend. Sign me up.

Who’s my favorite main character? Jocelin. I loved the accent and how the author brought it across in the story. I love how sweet and sensitive he is. But I liked Gunnar too. I have a soft spot for bear type men.

The story is a romance with lots of it twist. There are a couple main plots starting with the work issues and fake boyfriend twist. Then add in friends to lovers, sister's beest friend, bosses' best friend to mention a few more tropes, then the PTSD plot twist.

I really liked this story and it kept my attention. I only had two issues and both have to do with personal taste and not the story. The first is there is just so much sex. I'm not saying it's not good, it is. But I'd have liked a little less sex and more story, like where did Gunnar disappear to? Maybe a chapter in his viewpoint there.

Then the epilogue was two years out. That was just such a big time jump for this scene. Was the scene cute? Oh yes, but would've worked in one year or even less. I was looking for something that might lead us into another story, maybe Bjorn?

It was an HEA and a sweet ending.

If you like as sister's best friend, fake boyfriend, lawyers, architects, fun friends, sweet little lady neighbor, cute cats, and a spicy romance you will love this.

There are trigger warnings mentioned so if these bother you, skip this one or read with caution.
