Cat's Review of Cosmo (Murphy's Pub book 1) by Rain Carrington @raincarrington @tammystwocents X- @TTCBooksandmore

Haunted by a past he can't escape and a prison sentence that marks him as an outsider, Cosmo never thought life could present him with a chance to start fresh.

However, when an opportunity at a bustling and popular pub is offered, he can't help but feel that maybe things are turning around. Yet, the warmth and family spirit of the pub and its employees strikes Cosmo as out of place, especially for someone like him, who shies away from anything resembling a family.

But what lies beneath this pub and the seemingly joyful workplace holds secrets that could shatter it all. Hounded by a handsome and relentless FBI agent, Cosmo must now make a decision - to stay or to flee.

In this world of deceit, darkness, and hidden trails, will Murphy's Pub be his undoing, or will it lead him to capture the heart of the striking FBI agent?

Read front of book for trigger warnings.

One thing I love about Rain Carrington is the Public Service Announcements up front. This one deals with postpartum depression. I can tell you from experience with my second child how bad this is and serious, mine was not as bad as what happened here however if there had been more knowledge of this (40 years ago) more lives could be saved so Bravo Rain for posting these helplines. If you have a friend or loved one struggling, please call these lines don't wait for them to ask for help.

I really related to Liam (Cosmo). As his story unfolds you really have to love him. I had mixed feelings at first with his love interest, but I won't say why as it could be considered a spoiler. He did redeem himself and grow on me by end of book.

This is a book 1 in a series so lots of world building and introducing new characters which I loved them all and am eager for each story. There is a main plot that grows and looks like my spread into at least the next book if not the entire series. Then you had the romance plus building friendships, and let's not forget the pub. It's like a character itself with the shows they put on. I loved it.

Rain Carrington is a mother of three first, a girlfriend, a pet parent, and writer. Long wishing to put words to paper, she waited until her children were grown to get in the writing game.

Born in New Mexico and raised in Colorado, she takes the love of those two states into most of her stories but doesn’t stop there. Traveling the US extensively, she uses what she learns and loves from each into other stories.

Starting on writing sites in 2011, she soon found that dreams can come true no matter what age, and in 2013 published her first novel, Honky Tonk. From there, many series and over thirty books have brought her characters into the homes and hearts of readers.

Now delving into young adult novels, she continues to write adult novels, branching into different genres to keep it fresh.

Rain lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
