This book contains intense depictions of flashbacks to sexual assault and other abuse; an extremely large age gap between partners (over 100 years; werewolves live a long time!) in a relationship in which one partner consensually commands the other; and discussions of death and grief. The book is set in the Real Werewolves Don't Eat Meat universe but is not a direct part of that series.

This story is full of suspense and romance.  I love seeing more of Quinn and Malachai and love Quinn's growth and finding his strength and confidence. 

I love how the author shows his abuse but builds him up and doesn't make him a cowering victim.

I also like how the age gap is handled.

There is mystery and suspense as well, as we try to figure out who is coming for Quinn and why.

Theres plenty twists and turns.

I highly recommend it. Though you do need to read in order. It also sets up the next story in Real Werewolves series too and I can't wait.
