The Torn Wing Blog Tour. Review, Spotlight & Giveaway

London 1872

A bloody escape, a deadly threat, a shocking revelation...

As an orphan who stole the Queen's ring - only to find the ring was a reservoir that
held a truce between the world of Faerie and the British Court - Tiki’s greatest fear
suddenly becomes all too real: the fey have returned to London seeking revenge. As
war escalates in the Otherworld, Queen Victoria’s youngest son, Prince Leopold, is
attacked. In order to protect her family and those she loves, Tiki needs to know the
meaning of an fáinne sí, the birthmark that winds around her wrist. But will she be brave
enough to face the truth?

The Torn Wing is an intriguing story with well written characters and a vivid view of London in the 1800’s.

Tiki and Rieker are back as well as Larkin and loads of new dark faeries wreaking havoc on the unexpecting populous of human’s in London. My favorite of the new additions would be Sean and Dain, both handsome and elusive, but where do their loyalties lie?  Seelie or Unseelie is the question, you’ll have to read the book to answer said question.  And Larkin, I cannot figure out which side of the coin she lands on, to be quite honest I dislike her regardless and wish someone would clip her wings and hide her under a BIG rock! Kudos Hamilton on creating this dark, intense and mysterious character that leaves the reader wondering what else can this b*tch pull out of her bag of tricks.

I love the relationship between Tiki and Rieker and hope to see it blossom even further in the next book.  Their greatest strength may turn out to be their greatest weakness in the end; they are both completely and utterly selfless, putting the needs of others before themselves always.  At a mere 16 years old Tiki’s courage and strength puts many grown men to shame.  And Rieker exudes strong character, morality and dedication his new found family of orphans.
The mystery, intrigue, suspense and young love is what kept me reading.

There were a few spots that were a little slow as well as a few times the descriptions were a touch heavy; that being said, this is still a well written novel and I would recommend it to anyone with a love for the Fae.  3.75/5 for me, but that’s just my two cents!
