Negotiating Love (Sin City Uniforms book #5) by @MorticiaKnight | Review, Exclusive Excerpt & DOUBLE Giveaway { @PridePromo | @TTCBooksandmore }

Can the kinky billionaire owner of Dark Fantasy Resort Casino capture the heart of a muscled SWAT officer with a secret fetish?

SWAT Team Hostage Negotiator, Steve, wonders why he can’t stay away from the spoiled rich Allistair, owner of Dark Fantasy Resort Casino. They have mutual kinks - ones Steve can’t find with other lovers—but there’s something else about the emotionally detached, beautiful man that calls to him.

Billionaire Allistair stays alone in his luxury penthouse apartment at the top of Dark Fantasy, terrified of the real world and of opening himself up to genuine emotions. He takes lover after lover, all of them allowing him to do whatever he wants to their bodies, in the hopes that they can scam something from him.

One night is all he ever shares with a plaything—he knows they only want the money and luxury he can offer them and nothing more. But the down to earth Steve is different. They share the same kinks and are explosive when together. But could the muscled law officer ever want more than the lust-filled encounters that have become such an addiction?

As they grow closer, they discover they also have to find a balance between Steve’s everyday world and Allistair’s entitled world before they can truly find an ever after. They also have to make sure Allistair stays safe. Filthy rich playboys are too tempting to those who seek the ultimate payday—and who aren’t afraid of hurting someone to get it.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of BDSM and fetishism.
Can I give this book 10 stars please??

Steve and Allistair have played before; both believing it was a onetime thing as Allistair never comes back for seconds. But there is something about Steve that Allistair craves, his big, sexy SWAT officer that has a taste for leather, lace and the promise of pain. Steve is only mildly surprised when one of Allistair's bodyguards approaches him to tell him the billionaire playboy is requesting his company for the evening. But what Allistair wants is so much more than random hook-ups and nights of pleasure and pain that end as soon as the sun comes up. The question is, does Steve want the same thing?

What I love about this story and Building Bonds by the same Author is the merging of Contemporary Romance and the BDSM lifestyle, and the fact that is done tastefully. I'm not a reader that enjoys a story where one partner is hurting the other in the name of love and kinks. What Knight does that is so different is explains what is happening... what the kink is, why the Dom and the Sub like and crave their position in the relationship. She shows a different side of the lifestyle that isn't just about the pleasure/pain aspect, it's about love, honor, integrity and respect.

Steve has to be professional, calm and collected everyday on the job. As a SWAT negotiator, the words he chooses when speaking to that person on the other side of the phone could be the deciding factor in whether or not the hostage(s) lives or dies. With Allistair, he doesn't have to be calm, in control, careful and precise with his words and movements. Allistair has an ingrained need to be in control. He never plays with the same Sub twice, never succumbs to a physical attraction, and never falls in love. But Steve cause Allistair to break all his rules, the attraction is that powerful. Together, they complete each other.

I highly recommend this book, even with the BDSM aspect of the story, it barely even registered for me I was so wrapped up in the relationship and how that evolved throughout the story. I've seen some people commenting that they only read Contemporary and aren't happy with the curve ball this story throws into the series. Again, I stress, give it a go, I think you will be surprised.

Exclusive Excerpt:
{NOTE: this is a very naughty excerpt, intended for mature audiences only}

Steve renewed his touches, his kisses. Allistair’s eyes drifted closed and he allowed himself to give the control of his body over to Steve. It was a rare thing for them. Allistair was aware that they shared a unique dynamic sexually where pain, pleasure and dominance were the primary ingredients. The power exchange between them was as or more significant than all other aspects of their relationship. Allistair craved control, never bottomed. However, he also needed to know that Steve desired him, yearned for his body.

Allistair wiggled and squirmed beneath Steve’s assured touches. Steve kneaded and stroked his frame, explored every inch of skin then followed the path with his lips and tongue. When he reached Allistair’s groin, he rubbed his nose and face against his rigid column of flesh, lapped at his balls.
Steve dragged his tongue underneath Allistair’s cock from base to tip. When he reached the head, he sucked on the very end as if drinking from his slit. Allistair moved his legs restlessly, clutching at Steve’s hair. Steve swallowed his length and Allistair thought he’d go mad from the sensation. When Steve let his heated erection drop from his lips, it forced a whimper from him.

Steve drew the loose skin of his sac into his mouth, suckling it. He ran his hands up Allistair’s torso, encouraging Allistair to let go of his hair by pushing at his arms. Allistair obeyed the unspoken request, grabbing the swirled iron of the bed’s headboard then hanging on with a strong grip. 10/Steve would give his life to protect Allistair.

  1. The sub-genre I prefer really depends on my mood at the time. I like all of the mentioned sub-genres, but at the moment I'm in more of a historical or bdsm mood. Weird mix, huh?

  2. I like a good contemporary, but given my love for firemen and hockey players, a uniform doesn't hurt either!

  3. Tough question, I like them all. I guess I lean just a little more toward contemporary.
