Vampires, Werewolves and Witches! Oh My!!

Infinity re-defines the term "party like a rockstar" with her wild ways and drug abuse. After a breakdown she decides to take control of her life, making a conscience decision to stop all the partying and drug use. She even begins speaking out about the negative effect of Rejuvanators. Another term her family re-defines is "dysfunctional", but they are fiercely loyal at a time when her closest friend turns out to be manipulative and controlling. If all that weren't enough, she's haunted by disturbing nightmares.

Secrets that have been kept from her threaten to destroy everything and Infinity no longer knows who she can trust. And then there's not one, but three otherworldly creatures vying for Inifinty's affection. A vampire, a tiger and (my personal favorite) the werewolf, Boulder. Infinity affectionately nick named him "Big Red!" If you are expecting a YA paranormal novel, you might be mistaken. Valkyries is a sexy paranormal saga with a skoch of mythology thrown in for good measure. Some of the scenes push the bounds toward Erotica.

There was a lot going on in this book, so much so that at times I was confused and had to go back to re-read some parts. But overall I love the unique spin Venez gave to all her characters, aside from Infinity. She grated my nerves for the most part, I'm hoping that this was intentional on the authors part to show how the character grows as the series progresses.

I give this one 3/5.. I liked it, didn't love it. What I did love aside from Big Red (NomNomNom) was the Venez's style of writing, she really can weave a fantastical tale. My utter dislike of the heroine and some of the plot falls made it a difficult read at times, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I'm anxious to see where Venez can take this story and these characters in the end.
