Taken away from her home and everything she knows, she now lives with her Aunt and struggles with her rehabilitation and therapy. She's mentally, physically and emotionally scarred. Tavia thinks she really is loosing it when she starts seeing things. Buildings appear out of nowhere, strange symbols and a boy she's never met, but feels like she's know forever dominates these visions.

As the story unfolds Tavia is desperate to figure out why she's the sole survivor and unlock the secrets of a past she can't remember. Her friend Benson is by her side throughout and the relationship between them quickly grows into something more than just friends. But Quinn still haunts her visions and she can't help but want to know him. The fact that she's seeing all these things in dreams and when she's awake leaves the reader pondering, are these dreams or premonitions?

I don't always like the love triangle aspect in books, but I love a strong female lead, so Tavia's character balanced it out. She's strong and loyal, but her flight or fight response at times was backwards. Overall Tavia was a survivor in more ways than the obvious, which made her character extremely likeable.

Pike has created a unique story rooted with mythology and a side order of paranormal. The plot has a lot of twists and turns as you learn that certain people are not who you think them to be. Tavia is surrounded by friends, and enemies. The story was a little slow to start, but once Pike got past the pleasantries and introductions the story flowed better. In the end there were answers but then we are left with more questions. I look forward to the next book in this series.
