Greetings from the great state of Texas ya'll! And thank you QTA for setting up this world wide tour of Author's sharing their Holiday traditions from across the globe.
My favorite Holiday tradition that we have in my home is buying a new ornament for our tree every year. From baby's first christmas, to ornaments that represent things each of us enjoy in life like my oldest sons soccer ornaments, to hand made things like my daughters hand blown glass ornament from ten years ago, or my youngest sons snow man hand print ornament. We have ornaments on our tree that are thirty or more years old! It's a way for us to really bring our tree alive with unique and treasured things that span a lifetime of memories.
We have a blast here in my house setting up the tree, we listen to Christmas songs while we wrap our gifts, we cover every open surface in the house with Christmas candles and bobbles and trinkets, we really do just love this time of year. But presents, decorations and traditions aside, the most important thing about the Holiday's is getting to spend time with friends and family that we don't get to see as much as we'd like throughout the year. So while you are celebrating, buying gifts and partying like a rock star, try to remember those less fortunate as well. Toy's for Tot's - Book drives - Angel tree donations - your local food bank. These are also things that we do every year in our home, we always try to remember those that aren't as fortunate as us.
What Holiday traditions are important to you and your family? Feel free to share by leaving a comment below, each comment will be entered into a drawing for an ornament directly from my home to yours this Christmas! {US only shipping, I do love you all but international shipping requires three forms of identification, your first born child and a secured loan from Ft. Knox!}
