Collin and Tanner are trading in their dorm room with the two twin beds they lovingly shove together for an attic room at a beach house on fire island, with a much bigger bed! The plan is to work at the same restaurant Tanner has worked out during past summer trips to the island, and to explore their relationship more openly, in a safer environment. Collin is still estranged from his family and that is a weight on his shoulders. He continues to struggle with his own self worth after the way he was raised, but Tanner continues to do everything he can to convince Collin that he matters.
As Collin gets more comfortable with Tanner's circle of friends, he loosens up a bit, just a smidge really. It's hard to move past something that has been a part of your life up until just a few months ago. And while they are fully committed to each other and they've taken their relationship to the next level, insecurity still manages to wiggle into the middle. Tanner's ex is beyond flirtatious, as is one of the other boarders at the beach house with Collin. And when I say flirtatious, I'm being nice, it's down right uncomfortable. When Collin finds Tanner and Wendy getting cozy one night, he jumps to the wrong conclusion and makes a rash decision that just might tear apart their already fragile union.
I am really taken with Stivali's writing. I thoroughly enjoy the love that Tanner and Collin share, how it's young, awkward and raw much like the characters themselves are. Even with that though, I didn't quite like this book as much as the first. I could have done without the variety of secondary characters littering the story, and the hint toward Wendy causing problems for Tanner and Collin just urks me. That being said, I am still so engrossed in this sometimes passionate, sometimes volatile, slightly angsty love story that is Tanner and Collin.
Very excited for the next installment in the series, I wish Stivali would have waited and released a large saga type novel so I could get all the laughter, pain and tears out of the way in one setting. But the anticipation of what will happen next for these two young lovers as they navigate their lives as a couple and find a way to maintain their individuality at the same time, it's crazy good fun!

Moment of Impact
Outside Collin Fitzpatrick?s dorm room is a dangerous place. Beyond his door the students of his small, conservative college think he?s straight, as does his Catholic family who?d disown him if they learned the truth. Inside, he?s safe with his incredibly sexy roommate Tanner D?Amico. Their room makes a perfect place to hide away and fall in love. The moment they cross the line from roommates to lovers, Collin becomes caught between their heavenly passionate encounters and the hellish reality that someone might find out and destroy everything. Tanner?s not used to being so confined, and wants to show the world how much he loves Collin. But Collin?s not sure he?s ready for the impact stepping outside will make.
