Welcome, Welcome everyone to Wilde City Wednesday! It's been a while but WCP is back this week with a double dose from their controversial new Author, Liberty Lace. A little warning must be noted, the subject matter and content of these books is 'taboo' as in both stories involve twins. So go ahead and exit out of the browser if that is an issue or problem for you. For everyone else, hello and allow me to introduce you to the newest Author over at Wilde City!
The Temptress of Taboo Romance,
Liberty Lace is a keeper of secrets, a lover of fine wine and a breaker of
rules. When it comes to forbidden desire, Ms. Lace is the first to take a ravenous
bite out of that sweet, delicious fruit. For what the heart wants… the heart
shall have.

Scott Tate has a problem. When his brother Sawyer calls and asks to crash at Scott’s place for a few days, Scott has no idea that the past would surface so quickly. But a hush-hush crush this strong cannot be concealed for long.
Now, after spending most of his life pushing Sawyer away, Scott is faced with the toughest decision of his life!

Twin brothers Scott and Sawyer were close when they
were younger. But as Scott grew up and realized his feelings for his brother
were far deeper than the acceptable norm of a bond between twins, he started to
distance himself. When Sawyer comes to visit and camps out on Scott’s couch,
the two are forced to deal with secrets they’ve kept buried for years.
This is a short, steamy read that is sure to cause a
spike in your blood pressure. The content is “taboo” so if you have an issue
with twincest, you might want to skip this naughty little read. I quite liked
it. There was a bit of drama, secrets being revealed, uncertainty with how
those secrets will be perceived and even a quick pulse pounding moment of
danger.
If you are a fan of Mercy Celeste or Max Voss then
you’ll definitely want to read this one. A delicious little snack I’ll keep on
my kindle to re-visit every now and again.

There’s something that twins
Tobias and Thomas Whitmore never intended to tell their family—the fact that
they’re gay and in love with each other, and have been for as long as they can
remember. But these two brothers are about to discover that secrets run in
their family. For on a weekend in Montauk to celebrate their grandmother’s 80th
birthday, one spilled secret leads to another, and before long, the tragedies
of the past, the uncertainties of the present, and the uncharted path of the
future will collide… and change this family forever.

The Whitmore family is gathering in Montauk for a
weekend celebration for their grandmother’s eightieth birthday. But a time of
celebration is marred with memories of the past including lost loved ones, a
wicked stepmother and a secret that twins Tobias and Thomas are trying very
hard to keep buried.
This is the second book from Mrs. Lace that I’ve
read, and I have to say, she definitely has my attention. Lace is not afraid to
tackle the controversial subjects in her books. I’ve always believed that twins
share a bond no one else could possibly comprehend. They shared a womb and
quite possibly a soul in heaven, so who am I to discourage a love, respect and
type of communication between them that exceeds conventional concepts.
Short, sexy and steamy with a bit of drama and lot
of love, Entwined will leave you smiling in the end. My only complaint is I
wanted this story to be longer. A few things that were briefly mentioned could
have been incredible content had they been explored. Definitely will be looking
for more from this Author.
Tams: What inspired you to start writing?
Liberty: I’m not sure I was ever inspired to write, but rather,
I created in myself a need to write. From
that need, you can find inspiration everywhere. I’ve always been a storyteller,
ever since I was young. My parents moved around a lot when I was a child, so
the characters I created were my best friends. It was my escape, writing kept
me sane. I’d completely lose myself in the world and lives of my characters,
and that made it easier to cope with moving to a new school every year or so. Now,
I can’t imagine waking up every morning and not having a story to tell.
Tams: What advice would you give a new writer just starting
out?
Liberty: Write what you love. Write what you would like to
read. It’s a cliche, but it’s true. Never write something because it’s a
bestselling trend or you think it will make you millions of dollars. Write
because you love to write and write because you have a particular story to
tell. But don’t write something if you don’t have your heart in it. And never
continue a scene or storyline if it’s boring you. Chances are, if you’re bored
with it, the reader will be bored with it too. Always remember that how you’re
feeling about your work shows on the page. If you’re excited about your
characters and their story, that excitement and passion will come through. If
you couldn’t give a damn, your readers will add your book to their DNF list. Be
passionate and stay passionate or throw the story away and start again.
Tams: Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do
you do about it?
Liberty: Yes, all the time. I think most writers do. I tend to
keep several projects on the go at any one time, that way if I find myself
stalling on a difficult scene, I can switch to another story. I never actually
stop writing, I just flit between stories. Sometimes I’ll even start something
completely new, to keep the ideas fresh and rolling.
Tams: Why did you choose to write taboo content stories?
Liberty: I did it to challenge myself… and I fell in love with
it. I wanted to take myself out of my comfort zone and see how I felt about it,
and I discovered that the challenges and obstacles faced by gay men in a taboo
romance were so much greater than your traditional romance. Their love is truly
a love that shall not speak thy name. What I want to explore is how those
characters come to realize their love for each other, how they deal with it
personally, how they must fight the norm and societal values for their love to
survive. I feel that kind of struggle is akin to the struggle that gay men felt
decades ago when they couldn’t come out and be true to themselves… and if they
did, it was a long hard road to acceptance. One thing I do try hard to do in my
stories is bring out the beauty of love, not just rely on the erotic kink of
two brothers or another incestual pairing. I want the reader to believe these
two men are truly in love, and that love is a force that cannot be denied, no
matter what the challenges are to keep that love alive.
Tams: What's next for Liberty Lace?
Liberty: I
have two stories about to be re-released by Wilde City Press: Stepbrothers In Chains and my personal
favorite Forbidden Secrets, which is
the first in my Forbidden Glades
stories and was previously titled The
Secrets of a Twin. After that I’ll be releasing my daddy/son story The Curve of the Earth, followed by
another twincest tale titled The Poetry
of Love. Following that I’ll be finishing up the second in the Forbidden Glades saga, Forbidden Journeys. I’m also hoping to
get an anthology of my stories into a print book in time for GRL in San Diego
which will also be available online. The stories will keep flowing, I just need
to find the time to keep up!
