July Author of the Month here at TTC Books is VL Locey!
Let's focus on a fairly new series from Locey, Venom. It's a spin off series from Locey's much loved Wild Cats series and it's only 99 cents. The first book, Clean Sweep, really captured Cat's attention. She gives it 5 Stars.
Fiery, flame-haired Jane Bratkowski is catapulted from a small college town to Philadelphia to become head coach of a new women’s hockey team, The Venom. It’s a life-changing opportunity, a dream come true until – in a cruel twist of fate that could turn into a nightmare – she comes face to face with her ex-husband Tore Ahlberg, the Wildcats' head of European Scouting.
Suddenly, Jane’s faced with more challenges than she bargained for: Will she let him distract her -- and derail her big chance to coach pro hockey? Can she build a team of relatively inexperienced, irrepressible young women into champions? Can she and Tore triumph over the gut-wrenching tragedy that ripped them apart -- or will the shocking truth of their passionate past threaten to destroy them once again?
Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 4 Purr heat index...
Clean Sweep is a first book in a series and a spinoff of The Wild Cat series. I wasn't a big sports romance fan until I read the Wildcats series and fell in love with the team. I wasn't sure how I would feel about Women's Hockey but once again, V.L won me over.
In this book, she set up the series, created a team, gave us a sizzling second chances romance, made me laugh and cry and fan my face. She also has me salivating for the next book!
Of you like hockey, sports romance, second chances, great characters, a sad story with a hay ending and sizzling sex I highly recommend this.
V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, belly laughs, yoga, reading and writing lusty tales, walking, Greek mythology, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.)
She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, two Jersey steers, and a flock of assorted domestic fowl.
When not writing lusty tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, fresh cup of java in hand.

Alright guys, that's it for this week. Be sure to head back over next week when we spotlight a couple of Stand alone stories and Part IIII of the Author Q&A.
Q&A with VL Locey Part III
What comes first, the plot or characters?
Usually it's the nugget of an idea for the plot. I
will say that my top selling LGBT character, Victor Kalinski, was outlined and
designed before any idea for a story for him came to life. I like to think
that's because he is just so darned pushy.
Describe the perfect writing space.
I really enjoy writing at my kitchen
table in front of my bow window.
Do you do research for your books? If so, what does
that entail?
Sure. For me research generally means hours spent
wading through NHL By-Laws, rules and regulations. Yeah, it's about as exciting
as it sounds but I like to do my best to get things right. Sports romance
readers know their sport and will call you on any error they find.
