Justin Hawthorne worked hard to realize his silver-screen
dreams, making his way from small-town Pennsylvania to Hollywood and success.
But it hasn’t come without sacrifice. When Justin’s father kicked him out for
being gay, George Miller’s family offered to take him in, but circumstances
prevented it. Now Justin is back in town and has come face to face with George,
the man he left without so much as a good-bye… and the man he’s never stopped
loving.
Justin’s disappearance hit George hard, but he’s made a life
for himself as a home nurse and finds fulfillment in helping others. When he
sees Justin again, George realizes the hole in his heart never mended, and he
isn’t the only one in need of healing. Justin needs time out of the public eye
to find himself again, and George and his mother cannot turn him away. As they
stay together in George’s home, old feelings are rekindled. Is a second chance
possible when everything George cares about is in Pennsylvania and Justin must
return to his career in California? First they’ll have to deal with the reason
for Justin’s abrupt departure all those years ago.
Justin Hawthorne and George Miller were best friends, exploring life and love together as teenagers. When Justin comes out to his family, his father kicks him to the curb. Of course George and his family are there for him, offer him a place to stay. But then George wakes up the next morning to find Justin gone. Off to Hollywood to make a name for himself, Justin never looks back, never reaches out to George if only to tell him why, to give George closure. When Justin's father passes everything comes full circle and the A-list Actor finds himself back in the town he swore he'd never step foot in again... back with George. Can they pick up the pieces of their broken hearts, help each other mend?
I really enjoyed the contrasts between these two characters, it added depth to the story. They grew up together, friends turned lovers if only briefly, but that is where the similarities end. Justin was tossed out like the trash simply because he was gay. George's family loved him regardless. Justin is an established, high profile, openly gay Actor. Justin became a nurse to help people. Another thing they share, they never got over each other. All these years later, they still hold each other's hearts.
Straight away, I was intrigued. I had to know what drove Justin away, what was the catalyst? And when they are both forced to face the past, will it pave the way for the future they always wanted? Or will it hammer that last nail in the coffin? Grey does an amazing job of thoroughly flushing out his characters, slowly but surely. Justin is at the top of his game, but he's exhausted and lonely. George loves his job and how it gives him purpose, allows him to help people, but that training won't help when it comes to matters of the heart. The sexual chemistry between these two is still electric and passionate, to spite so many years apart. When it's all said and done, they'll have to compromise if they truly want their happy ever after.
I can't recommend this book enough. You'll be sucked in and won't want to put the book down until you see 'the end' - the characters are three dimensional, perfectly flawed and yet, they fit together so perfectly. If you are a fan of the Author, stories where the characters get that second chance at the love they never forgot or are just looking for a fantastic read, grab a copy of Can't Live Without You.

I wish I could tell you the exact beginning for the idea for Can’t Live Without You, but I can’t. This story didn’t have one of those brilliant idea moments It built in me over time and just continued to grow. I know that first love is very powerful and that many of us never completely forget that one person who awakened those initial feelings. So I decided to run with that and figure out what would happen if given a second chance at first love. Can it survive distance and time or does it truly become a warm memory. I like to think it’s like a seed sitting deep down inside us just waiting to be nurtured and to be given the chance to grow once again. Of course most of us move on with our lives, but that seed is still there and maybe a later magic person waters it for us. And maybe, just maybe, our first love turns to be the one we can’t live without.
Andrew grew up in western Michigan with a father who loved to tell
stories and a mother who loved to read them. Since then he has lived throughout
the country and traveled throughout the world. He has a master’s degree from

anywhere but in the sink (particularly when writing) He considers himself blessed with an
