Life hasn’t been easy for Venom goalie coach, Alice Dunlop. She battled her way out of childhood poverty to earn recognition as a medal winning player in her youth. After a terrible loss ended her first marriage, she vowed to never put down roots in one city ever again. Then the offer to coach in the pros came along and with that job, a move to the City of Brotherly Love was required. She never expected to meet Bruno “The Bruiser” Bonbano, the burly ex-Wildcats defenseman. Things were supposed to be all about the physical and not so much the emotional. Guess no one told Alice’s heart that.
As her team scratched and clawed its way through a season filled with ups-and-downs, Alice found herself forming a true bond with the city, the players, and the other coaches. She also ended up falling in love with Bruno. As her team rolls into the playoffs, Alice and Bruno are about to come face to face with devastating news. Secrets decades old will be revealed that may bring the life she now has crashing down around her. In the face of a medical nightmare, will love, family, and hockey be enough?
Cat gives this one 5 Meows with a 4 Purr heat index...
Flow is the 5th book in this series. In my opinion, its best if read in order since there are so many recurring Characters. This is Alice and Bruno's story and I will admit I wasn't as eager for it as some of the others, but man was it good.
Locey writes some of the best complex characters and deals with very touchy subject matter. I suggest you keep a hanky or box of tissue around. My heart went out to both Alice and Bruno and even Alain from the Wildcat's series. ( another great series if you haven't read it). There s a big twist I didn't see coming that made the already dramatic storyline even more so.
This is a real page turner so once you pick it up, you won't want to stop.
Don't worry if you think you won't like it because you aren't a big hockey or sports fan, the romance is so good and is the most of the book, plus the sports part is also exciting and easy to follow.
V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, yoga, belly laughs, Dr. Who. Torchwood, walking, reading and writing lusty tales, Greek mythology, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.) She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, two Jersey steers and a flock of assorted domestic fowl.
When not writing lusty tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in hand. She can also be found online on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and GoodReads.
