Jordan Erichsohn suspects something is rotten about his boss, Judge Crawford. Unfortunately, he has nowhere to turn and doubts anyone will believe his claims - least of all the handsome deputy, Pierre Ravelle, who has been assigned to protect the judge after he received threatening letters. The judge has a long reach, and if he finds out Jordan’s turned on him, he might impede Jordan adopting his son, Jeremiah.
When Jordan can no longer stay silent, he gathers his courage and tells Pierre what he knows. To his surprise and relief, Pierre believes him, and Jordan finds an ally...and maybe more.
Pierre vows to do what it takes to protect Jordan and Jeremiah and see justice done. He’s willing to fight for the man he’s growing to love and the family he’s starting to think of as his own. But Crawford is a powerful and dangerous enemy, and he’s not above ripping apart everything Jordan and Pierre are trying to build in order to save himself....

I Love me some hot deputies!
Jordan is a clerk for a Judge that is on the take. He is in the middle of an adoption when he stumbles upon some information. He is stuck in the dilemma of keeping a secret so his adoption goes through easily or doing the right thing and losing the child he loves.
Pierre is a deputy and assigned to protect a judge that is receiving threatening letters. It is soon apparent the Judge may be dirty but proving it could be difficult. He also has fallen for the sweet cute clerk and his son. But could doing his job hurt the man he is falling for?
I love Andrew Grey stories and this one did not disappoint. I absolutely devoured this in one sitting. Having Greg Tremblay narrate added to that. Tremblay not only tells you the story but acts it out. He gives each emotion so much nuance is like you are living it.
This story has so much going for it. This the mystery of who is writing the letters, If the judge is really bad, if so how to prove it, The adoption, and last but most important the sexy romance between Jordan and Pierre.
If you like deputies, court clerks, cute kids and a sweet and sexy romance with just enough heat you should love this and I do recommend the audio if you like listening to your books!

Well rounded story.
This is a spin off series from the Carlisle Cops books, same Author and I loved how Grey worked characters from the previous series into this story.
Jordan is a gay foster parent in the process of adopting the little boy he considers his son. There have been more than enough issues with his sexuality along the way, the last thing he needs is learning his boss might be breaking the laws he should be upholding. And the sexy Sheriff's Deputy assigned to his boss is just one more thing he shouldn't be messing with.
Pierre is drawn to the adorable paralegal the minute he lays eyes on him. Circumstance puts them in the same place when Jordan needs help and Pierre is more than happy to offer it. Their relationship progresses from friends to lovers seamlessly, but an issue arises that could threaten their future.
This story was the perfect balance of suspense and sexiness and I really enjoyed it. Tremblay truly brought the characters to life and gave each one their own distinct voice in the story. If you're a fan of sexy Deputies falling hard for adorable paralegals, well written storylines and amazing narration, you'll surely enjoy this book.
